Beautiful views staff friendly and helpful Only downside the stairs ... lots and lotssss of stairs to get to your room or even the reception area . Going down not so bad but going up is insanely a work out .
We were treated to a complimentary bottle of wine, roses and fruit upon arrival for our honeymoon. Breakfast was delicious; we had the croque madame, veggie omelette, chocolate croissants, espresso, salmon and quinoa, fresh squeezed orange juice, and. We were lower on the mountainside and were completely away from any noise or disturbance from the night clubs and bars. The view of the sunset from our terrace was worth every penny. The staff were overwhelmingly accommodating (carrying our luggage down the stairs and providing takeaway accommodations for our breakfast when we had an early departure) and tended our every request graciously and with smiles. I would highly recommend Athina for any length of stay.
We stayed four nights for our honeymoon. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. Breakfast delivered every morning was excellent, including champagne. The bed, although up the stairs to a tiny loft, was very comfortable. The climb from the hotel to the main street was tiresome, but very doable. It seemed like a pain until you realize that everyone has to do it. That is the price you pay for a caldera view. We would definitely recommend it.
I believe if you google Awesome this Hotel comes out.
Our stay at Athina Suites was unbelievable! Talk about a room with a view...we watched the sunset from our bed! Veronica, Daphne, and Roland were very professional and so friendly. They did everything from deliver our morning breakfast (which was huge and wonderful) to help make arrangements for ATV rentals. They greeted us with smiles. O matter the time of day or night we needed them. We were very sad to leave Athina Suites. This is an EXCELLENT hotel.
Athina was amazing! The location couldn't have been any better and the caldera view was just spectacular. Maria, the receptionist was very helpful and enthusiastic and great at what she does! Room was very clean and nice, bed also comfy. Breakfast was wonderful and definitely more than what we expected. We only got to stay one night here sadly because the hotel was booked the next day but would have loved to enjoy another night at this hotel! Would recommend to everyone!
We stayed at this hotel in mid-October. We took a taxi from the ferry port to the hotel. If you have difficulty walking up/down steps, this may not be the hotel for you- it is not located on a regular street, rather, you must be dropped off at the top of the hill (cliffside), then you must meander on foot ~0.25 mile down to the hotel entrance. Aside from that, the location was perfect- it was a 5 min walk to the bus station, which provided easy access to everywhere else on Santorini. It is within a short walk to dozens of restaurants and plenty of shopping. The hotel overlooks the Aegean sea and, in October, the sunset was easily visible from our balcony. At night, the cliffside hotels, restaurants, and pools are lit up and make for a beautiful backdrop. The rooms are small by U.S. standards and the beds were comfortable- my only complaint is that the bathroom door wouldn't stay closed. Breakfast is served on the balcony overlooking the Aegean at whichever time you request and consisted of breads, nuts, fruit, yogurt, and coffee. Additional items are available at a reasonable price. The service was great- everyone was extremely friendly. The woman at the front desk assisted us with booking a boat tour which I would highly recommend.
