This nice rustic hotel is a great alternative to motels in the bigger cities in the Ventura area. It’s tucked away in an adjacent small old town. I had a pleasant walk in the neighborhood where there were plenty of photo worthy murals and old buildings.
Cute little inn, with early 20th century charm. Staff was really friendly. Helped me get a different room because my room was haunted.
Classic, very nice staff. Very clean.
Old world charm, reasonable rate in cute little town. No elevator.
The hotel is old with a lot of antiques and artifacts... but was very clean ...the only downfall was the poor access to your room after the front desk is closed at night.. you have to go around to the rear side of the building which is kind of dark and not really accessible by foot ...you have to drive around... I would stay there again though ....nice staff
The hotel was comfortable and kind of old fashioned quaint. My double room on the second floor was clean and nicely furnished. The bathroom is quite small and the water pressure was a little low in the shower and toilet. It’s also up a step because of the way the renovations were done to accommodate the bathroom plumbing. Just need to remember that so you don’t trip when getting up in the middle of the night for a trip to the bathroom.
Very quiet and unique inn. Loved the location, easy access to the freeway. There were two drawbacks. The room lacked blackout curtains, and the lights for the front of the inn streamed through the windows all night. Also the shower was very small. Otherwise, the property was very beautiful and quaint.
Room was comfortable, staff was nice, and the area was nice and quiet.
Cracked/patched hole in ceiling. Loud hallways, staff speaking, loudly in the morning. No sound insulation, staff loudly stalking to each other at 8 am at our door. Zero water pressure in the shower, it was literally a spritz. Staff was very friendly but the above mentioned was poor quality. Breakfast buffet was mostly meat and bread. Could have been way more diverse for diets that aren't the deadly American diet that causes heart disease, obesity, diabetes, cancer, etc. eggs were wet, cake like, juice not fresh, but from a package. No pool, no hot tub , broke and drained. Worth the price? Maybe... Could have paid way less for what I got. Needs... A modern perspective, while retaining historic value.
Nice secret hideaway, centrally located, excellent (and well-priced) Italian restaurant, quaint bar, courteous staff. Quiet location, excellent rooms! Perfect for overnite/weekend with significant other, or just to get away from the rush for a day or 2.
This is a nice classic hotel, built in the early 1900's. The rooms are nice, but obviously built a long time ago, but everything works and the place is nice and clean. The hotel has really nice interior decorations and you do feel you've gone back in time to the 1900's.
Shower was extremely small, found 3 long hairs on sink, carpet appeared to b very dirty, pillows & towels also looked very aged :(. I liked the historical appearance, but would not stay again, just too old, which is almost a bit eerie.
Lovely older style hotel, within walking distance to town and restaurants. Located across from old railroad station, now a vistors center. We were told by long time local citizens that it might be haunted, has a nice ltalian restaurant on the premises with early birds specials.

Thank you so much for the kind review! Thank you for understanding the quirks of our building! We are a historic landmark and try to keep as close to the original feel of the building as possible. Thanks so much!

Thank you so much for the feedback! We totally sympathize with the shower sizes! The inn used to have communal bathrooms, so some rooms weren't as generous with space! Feel free to book direct with us and request a bigger shower!
