Very close to downtown & campus. We were happy with everything. Good hot breakfast as well.

The Suites are extremely spacious and comfortable. Not sure what the std rooms are like. Breakfast in the am was better than most! Would stay here again.

We came up to stay before our son went back to cal poly. The location was very central to everything. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Everything was very clean. Great experience.

The staff were all wonderful. Easy check in and out. Helpful to get the trolley for the farmers market. Standard breakfast. Comfortable room. Bathroom was very dated. Fine for a night stop.

Needed a 2 day place to stay while visiting family and the beach. Sands fit our bill perfectly. They made us feel at home. They even loved having our Aussie stay. Looking forward to seeing them again need spring

The night managers were great, very helpful. The daytime manager was not very friendly but she did her job well.

This will be my "go to" hotel whenever I go to SLO and the main reason is the staff - especially Edgar. He went above and beyond to make sure that the issues I had were taken care of. I even came to the front desk in a "panic" thinking I had lost my phone late at night. Edgar was calm, professional and had all the right answers. Everything was solved quickly and he put me at ease throughout the ordeal. The check-in was just a pleasant. It felt like "family" and, knowing, that I will be spending a lot of time in SLO, this is important to me. Looking forward to my return!

Cute on outside, close to everything, but completely dated hotel!!! It's too bad...

We stay a short time but, everything was good. Thank you.

Good location for going North on 101 to Paso Robles area wineries & relatively convenient for Edna Valley area. Room a bit small but very good housekeeping and cleanliness. Convenient parking. About a mile to mile and a half walk to downtown San Luis Obispo's restaurants. Cable TV was problematic with confusing multiple remotes causing loss of signal. I had to reload the channels several times. Free breakfast room a little above average for food but also kept clean.

My family and I travel every summer. This nlhas now become one of our go to spots!

Although clean with good towels and sheets, the room felt unclean and dingy. The rooms are small. The clientele was noisy. One night someone pounded on the ceiling all night. All nearby hotels seemed of better quality. This hotel does take dogs and the employees were very nice. They are going through construction on the pool.

The room was clean, staff was great and walking distance to a great Pub

We've visited San Luis most years since 1971. Prices of lodging has become almost prohibitive, but then we found the Sands Inn. The rooms are neat, reception helpful - like a more expensive option in the area. We had a great stay and will try to get a room with them on our next trip.

The room is clean with comfortable beds. It comes with a good size refrigerator even a microwave oven, a flat screen TV with a DVD player. The hot breakfast is good. The overall experience was positive.

Location is close to the campus, the room is nothing special. Staff is friendly, the breakfast is not much. No fruit was my issue. The pub across the street is fun and Curlys down the street has great food served deli style.

This hotel was very much like other hotels in SLO. It was clean, safe but outdated.

I often travel to San Luis Obispo for business and I am budget minded, so I often wind up at the least expensive motel available. I have seen quite a few motels in SLO and some of them are pretty sketchy. I booked Sands Inn at a bargain rate, so I was a bit dubious before arrival. It turns out I was quite mistaken. This is a fine motel, the best in this price class in SLO. Nice newly remodeled rooms, good furnishings, I was not scared to walk on the carpet in bare feet, free WiFi, and the free breakfast rocks! If you are lucky to get a good rate here, take it!

A n!ice patio area to enjoy your continental breakfast

Great stay at Sands suite and inns. Had a suite which was quite roomy with full bar, small frig and microwave. Too bad it was just myself and my husband staying as it would of made a perfect get-together room to entertain. Breakfast was nice with waffles, eggs & sausage, fruit, cereal and coffee. Will definitely stay here again when we come back to visit. Only negative was street noise and next room noise as walls are pretty thin.
