Vagabond Inn San Luis Obispo

Decent, reasonably clean motel. A little worn and torn, but OK for the price. Breakfast is packaged pastries and muffins, along with drinks (coffee, tea, OJ). We've stayed there in mid-July for several years for the Central Coast Renaissance Festival (of course, room rates increase for that weekend).

We just stayed for one night on our way from San Francisco to Los Angeles. It's totally fine if you just want to sleep and nothing more. Rooms are old and not very tidy, breakfast is not worth writing about. Anyway the staff at the reception was very friendly!

We stayed for night and had a very pleasant experience.

Solid budget motel. Good location for access to many parts of SLO and area. Needs updating. Free breakfast is sparse. Noisy due to close proximity to Madonna Road. Shower pressure was good but temperature fluctuates frustratingly. No towels in pool area.

It is comfortable and the Staff are friendly, and the best part is that it is always affordable!

The room was outdated, wifi did not work, non smoking but smelled like cigarettes. The only good thing was the location of the Inn.

This hotel was a little disappointing as far as the cleanliness and freshness of the room. Although shown as a non-smoking room, it had a stale and stuffy smell to it. The towels furnished were the bare minimum and were of a very poor quality. The bedspread looked and smelled as if it hadn't been laundered in 6 months. We even found the coffee pot with old coffee stains in the bottom. The continental breakfast was a joke with only stale muffins and pasties available and no fresh fruit juice.

Though occasional lack of large towels per room, spotty turn down service, great front desk workers.

Good place to stay while traveling the 101. It is not a resort but it is clean and the bed was comfortable.

This is a above average hotel. Nothing fancy but nice.

Nice hotel for a decent price. Parking is good and staff was very friendly. Room was clean. Overall had a good experience with this stay.

Unacceptable... Hotel was dingy.. Didn't feel comfortable staying there

Clean room, easy check-in, friendly staff. The Vagabond Inn is an older motel, but it's maintained well. The room had a small refrigerator and microwave, and 2 extra pillows (in the dresser). It is located within walking distance (across the street) to a few restaurants, and right next door to a Denny's at which you get a discount as a guest of Vagabond. One issue: if you are driving a large truck/van or RV, you cannot get into the property. There is a low, covered area by the lobby that you must drive under. It's under 8'. About 7'6" I think. Overall great stay.

Very pleasant and quiet. No problems what's so ever . Convenient and close right everything

AC didn't work. Furnishing is old. Room was pretty clean but would spend the money to stay somewhere nicer

Desk clerk was very helpful in pointing out that Denny's give a 20% discount to hotel guests. Nice hot showers. Great bed. Clean room... Has a pool and hot tub (tho i did not use them....not my thing).

Friendly staff. Good room. One night stay. Seeing son in Santa Barbara next day. One small complaint listed below. Good price on room, gotten on-line.

The rug was very dirty and the room was not clean spots on the bathroom floor and wall in bathroom was not clean there were insects on the floor in bathroom.

Very serviceable hotel for an overnight stay at a reasonable price.

We stayed at this hotel for a beach trip. It is conveniently close to several beaches. I would have enjoyed having a wider selection in the continental breakfast, but you do get a 20% discount at the Denny's they have on site. Overall it was a good trip and a clean room and bed.
