Avoid this hotel! This property has been going thru a major overhaul for over a year with no regard for the guests. This is our second time staying at the SLO Courtyard Marriott this year - noise and facilities closed both times, with no prior notice or warning. The staff placed us in a room with jackhammering directly below us - remodeling the main floor bar and breakfast area - this hotel has over 150 rooms - no guests should have been in those rooms. In addition we prepaid for the 5 day stay and were charged a second time at check-in. We had two maintenance requests and our room was propped open for hours with no staff in the vicinity. We have stayed here numerous times in the last four years but this was the last - horrible experience.

Beware although Petfriendly there is a 125 dollar nonrefundable deposit per pet. We expected there to be a fee but that was the most we have ever had to pay to bring our pet.

I enjoyed the location and view of the property. However, I was disappointed that breakfast was not included with my room. There wasn't even complimentary coffee in the lounge area. So it's a toss up - view or breakfast. Had I realized that, I would have booked at the Embassy Suites which is well known for it's excellent breakfast offerings for it's guests.

Two maids tried entering room

Manager needs to double check if guests have checked out. We had two maids at different hours of the morning try opening our door while we were sleeping, the second one said the manager told her we had checked out even though check out wasn't for another hour
