I wasn't sure what to expect out of this place but everyone was very welcoming and inclusive. I loved the family dinners and social outings every night. Facility was great, especially the terrace and patio.
Wouldn’t recommend this hostel. The shower was only cold, AC too loud to leave on overnight, bitten by bugs overnight, loud banging on front door at 6am (staff did nothing about this), and terrible location. Definitely terrible value for money.
H1 Miramar is perfect because the staff is so loving and truly goes the extra mile to make your stay the most memorable stay there. The heart and soul of the Hostel is the manger Yare. She has a heart of Gold and smile that light up even the darkest room. The other staff members are super helpful with suggestions on where and what do during your time there. I already planing on my return visit in July. I miss you guys already thanks once again Yare , Stephanie, Carlos and Bryan. Marcus Momoh Washington , D.C

Stayed for 2 nights, met some amazing people from all over the world. Great deal, great place, comfortable accommodations with lots of common areas to sit, relax and meet new people. Staff was excellent and helpful in everything.
Love the hostel, feels like home, great dinner plates each night, lovely, friendly staff members, very attentive. Great location, very organize and clean. Had a blast, night life is great, have the placita, condado old san juan near. so coming back. if want to have a graet time have to visit Hostel H1 Miramar.....
I initially booked for 3 night but ended up staying for 12. The hostel has just been taken over by new management who are redoing the whole place. I arrived just one day after the change and I saw improvement every day. Staff is very friendly, they take you out every night and eager to help with everything. There is free breakfast, coffee and every night they throw a big "family dinner" - again, free of charge. There is a bar if you want to drink. Mattresses are brand new, sheets are clean. Wifi, although comes and goes sometimes, is fast. Location is fairly good, you can walk to Old San Juan in 45 minutes or take a bus around the corner for 75 cents. Airport bus stops 2 mins from the hostel (line T5). Walmart, fast food restaurants 5 mins away. The A/C is a bit loud, earplugs are recommended.
To start off the visit the staff went out of their way to start the stay off well. This hostel is a community and so welcoming. From the night I arrived I enjoyed myself with my new friends. We ate a family dinner together and al went out to the bars and went as a group with at least one staff member and guests. Most everyone that could enjoyed it so much they extended their stay, including myself. I spent 7nights here and had an amazing time. I highly recommend it. Not to mention a beach is a 15 minute walk away and everything is rather convenient. Also there has been a change in staff and it makes all the difference but please realize that this is cheap and so the basics are clean the hostel is old and does have a little dirt but perfect safe place also you can take a cab from the airport for $15 or a bus that is .75 cents if you want to walk a block with your luggage. Thanks Yari!!!
I was there from the 23 to the 27 of May 2018. Upon arrival I was welcomed and introduced to everyone that was chilling about the two floors. In the morning there is a small but free breakfast and coffee bar. We had dinner ever night at 8pm while I was there, and it was free but depends upon the donations to keep it going so I put 5 in it every night because I felt like I was getting my moneys worth. Beer, water, and soda for very great prices low prices (need cash in hand). There are some things that still need work here and there like the fridge upstairs needs to be cleaned out more regularly it was very full the whole time I was there but I still managed to make space for my things.. all the receptacles, Lighting and things worked fine for me. The new manager is a beautiful puerto rican woman and I have unfortunately forgot her name but she is very enthusiastic, energetic and working very hard to help everyone enjoy their stay. It's under going changes and being improved upon daily. Sometimes there was no toilet paper and I felt like that should be in the shower room closet so we can find it better if needed. We went out every night after dinner and most times were lead by the manager but she can only do so much :). We had nice sized groups every night and it felt very safe and I immediately felt like the other guest were people I've know forever over the course of my stay. Everyone was very cool and my experience was fantastic. I came to PR thinking I would be alone the whole time but by choosing to stay here I quickly realized I am not alone, and for me that was what made my time there fantastic. I forgot to sign the wall they started doing about 2 weeks ago though :(. Overall I feel this is the place to stay if you're looking for the "social-hostel" experience! My trip would've been very different had I not stayed here. I will return!
The staffs are very professional, friendly, and welcoming. They have cute little kittens playing around at the living room. Before reserving a room, they were kind enough to show me around the whole area, telling me the things that I should know, and were descriptive about everything. I love the facts that they always provide breakfast for only $3 and hosting fun group activities every night there or at a nearby place. About the hostel, it looks very beautiful on the outside but, it is very filthy everywhere inside. In the bathrooms, there were cold dirty showers with sandy tile floors and loose hair all over, old stained rugs, no toilet paper/ paper towels, broken sink, and a half-working toilet. Windows were left open causing so many flies and mosquitoes flying everywhere inside. Also, most of the outlets aren't working at all. The only one that is working is at the kitchen upstairs by the private bathroom. Unbelievable. Wi-fi connection sometimes fails. The beds and sheets were very clean that I am confident enough to sleep on it. The morning after, I had no idea why I became so itchy and continuously scratching all over my body. Now I have very bad and ugly rashes. I mean if you are on a budget, a somewhat clean freak, and are only needing to stay a day or two at the city, then you can book your stay there. I would not recommend anyone to put their bags down and sleep there. Super filthy hostel.
