Just came back from Costa Rica, where we stayed at this hotel for four nights. The hotel is newly built or renovated, nice decor and furnishings. It has four floors, only a handful of rooms, which is good, it does not feel crowded even when all rooms are booked. The photos of the hotel that are on different sites are accurate. We stayed in the Junior Suite, which has a small sitting area with a couch, a king bed , a kitchenette and a bathroom. Good size room, bed very comfortable, cleaned nicely and fresh towels every day. However, one thing to keep in mind, the housekeeping staff starts their day early, which means it could be 7:30-8:00AM when noise starts. Some guests also seem to think that they are alone in the hotel and let the doors to their room slam when they get out of the room, which I think it is disrespectful to other guests, but that is definitely not the hotel's fault! The rate includes breakfast, which is enough good to jump start your day. Some scrambled eggs, pastries, cheese, cereal, yogurt, fresh juice and coffee, etc. Hotel is very conveniently located, about 15-20 minutes walk from downtown, depending on your style of walk. Just take Avenida Central, right from the gate, and walk down to the downtown area. The hotel also has free parking and free Wi-Fi. The gates close at about 11PM, but there is a guard who comes immediately to let you in, with or without car, as soon as you show up at the gate. There is no ring button, but the premises are under video surveillance I am sure. So, it is safe. There is some noise from the street, but not too bad. It didn't bother us much. Our room faced the courtyard, so it is a little away from the street. And the view from our window, if the fog would have been less or gone, would have been great... on New Year's night, when the air was less humid and the view clearer, we were watching the fireworks from the hills, quite a show. I think people were firing them from their houses, for probably more than an hour after midnight! The staff is very nice and helpful, most speak English to some degree. With our limited Spanish and their English we managed just fine. A special shoutout to the reception staff! The hotel has a shuttle to and from airport, but it needs to be reserved. Otherwise, taxis are readily available, right out the door. If you are the adventurer kind, public transportation seems to be going everywhere all day long, even to some of the touristic attractions. We used taxis and rented a car since we like to be independent. Bottom line, we recommend this hotel and we will absolutely consider staying there again on a return trip.
We spent one night in the hotel and find it a great value for money. Located close to the airport and good restaurants. The rooms are nice and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend it.
A modern hotel in a busy part of San Jose. Comfortable & reasonably priced restaurant for breakfast and dinner. There was a fair amount of road noise but it did not keep me awake too long. Not as close to the centre of the city as some.
We booked to stay for 5 nights and were using the hotel as a base to take day trips from before moving to another hotel. The hotel is next to the main park in San Jose and around a half hour walk to the centre of downtown. Traffic is a bit mad in San Jose so preferred to walk into town. In saying that, there are a few restaurants, bars and mini markets close to the hotel and the restaurant in the hotel is very good also if you don't fancy venturing into town. We stayed in a double room on the forth floor. The room was a good size with a modern showerroom, safe, hairdryer, iron, coffee machine, tv and plenty sockets for all your gadgets. free wifi and aircon too. Breakfast is a buffet with a good choice of cereals, typical Costa Rican breakfast, continental meats cheese and pastries. We would have given this hotel five stars based on the facilities and service anyway, but during our stay our trip took an unexpected turn and the staff really showed their true worth. We were involved in a serious boat accident in Tortuguero national park which resulted in us being hospitalised, I got the all clear the following morning but my partner was in hospital for several days with a fractured neck. The staff at the hotel were great, they helped me keep the room on longer, assisted with taxis, international calls etc. Everyone at the hotel was so kind to us, they are all a real credit to the hotel chain. We wended up staying here for two weeks before we were able to fly home! My partner was pretty much hotel bound so we ate at the restaurant almost every night, I think between us we tried everything on the menu and would recommend them all. Highly recommend this hotel!
Excellent installations with nice and clean spaces the room was with the necessary furniture confortable bed the bathroom was big with clean and new infraestructure. The service was very personal and warm. Everybody was kind
We stayed at Parque del Lago for a day as part of a packaged deal but it was a great experience. As international travelers we were provided with the comfort, care, and standards that we are accustomed to and felt very safe while abroad. The hotel is lovely and stands out.
We stayed at this hotel recently for a business meeting in our shared services centre. Good location and decent food for breakfast and dinner. There are good eating and drinking places within walking distance. A park is nearby for those who want to jog.
I only stayed here for one night, but the room was nice and I had a great sleep. I stayed in three different hotels during my stay in Costa Rica and these beds and pillows were by far the most comfortable.
The room was nice and clean and the room was quiet. When we checked in we went up to the room to find you needed a key to the safe. I rang up and the staff seemed to think we should have already known this and said they would bring it up. It did take a while for the key to arrive which was annoying as we were waiting to go out. Just found the staff not very friendly. Luckily we were only there one night but the room was clean and quiet so can't complain really. It's a shame because this is the only thing that let the hotel down. Being friendly doesn't cost anything! This hotel is in a great location. Within 5min walking distance to McDonald's.
Stayed at this hotel for one night before leaving the following morning early to the airport. The hotel is in a great location, right near the highway to the airport and a very short drive (1-2km) to the heart of San José. Good options of bars and restaurants. Good continental breakfast included, with the staple gallo pinto and eggs, plus options like fruits, cereals, yogurt and bread. The room was comfortable and clean, well kept. Front desk personnel when I arrived in the evening not as helpful -dude first didn't want to confirm my cab for the following morning (said it had to be done the previous day before 4pm, and I had done so 2 days before; and he also was going to charge me a higher fee than my original reservation included, two things he could have inquired about before telling me, or he could have checked his computer first). But besides that, the stay was really good.
