What a lovely hotel in a great area located close to both ports. There is a shuttle that services both ports a well as nearby areas. Walking distance to Little Italy with plenty of restaurant choices. A beautiful park across the street on the waterfront. The hotel staff could not have been better. Rooms are extremely well kept. Breakfast choices very nice and plentiful. We were picked up by the shuttle at the cruise port within minutes of calling for it. The following morning we were taken to the airport...about a 5 minute ride. if you need accommodations before or after a cruise, this property cannot be beat!

Prime location close to the airport and all the activities you'd want to do while visiting San Diego. Across the street from a park you can walk in. We really enjoyed the breakfast they had each morning and also the happy hour in the evening. We got a room with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen and enjoyed using all the space.

This is an excellent location, close to airport, close to 5 freeway as well. The staff was very welcoming and fun to interact with. The breakfast has many choices for every one. I will stay her again when in the area.

I have stayed here with my wife and child for 3 nights (March 2017). Location is excellent near to most of the attractions and 7/11 nearby. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Recommended for the family. Good facilities- small kitchen area with microwave etc and guest laundry room.We enjoyed our stay at the residence inn. Decent breakfast.

This hotel is located between the airport and downtown. It is walking distance to many places if you are able bodied and ok with a good walk. Little Italy close with fun eating and bars. Downtown is a solid mile to mile and a half so not a great walk with kids. Small pool. Breakfast is typical Marriott and staff is friendly. To me it was worth saving some money and I enjoy walking.

We chose this hotel because it was central to everything in San Diego and close to the airport. Desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and Mark the shuttle driver was great. Room was clean and quiet, and we could walk anywhere in 15 minutes or less.

I stayed at this Marriott last weekend for a Bachelorette party, and for the most part enjoyed our stay. We had two two bedroom suites, one on the second floor, one on the third. Both suites were in great condition, though the couch beds were HORRIBLE. This hotel is very close to the railway, and while you can tell they have fairly thick walls, it's impossible to block all the noise from the train. It wasn't much of an issue at night (though we went to bed late, so who knows what it's like from 9pm-12am), but several of us woke up in the morning because of the train. That wasn't fun. On the plus side though, we were awake in time for the free breakfast, which was AMAZING. I've had more than my fair share of complimentary breakfasts, but I've never been to one that enabled me to make a breakfast taco. It was literally the best surprise, and I'm forever going to be sad when future free breakfasts don't have tacos. All in all, if you're looking for a decent hotel that's walking distance to Little Italy, I recommend this hotel! Just don't sleep on the couch bed.

We had some great moments during our stay and some frustrating ones. Since I have mixed feelings, I'll go ahead and just list them below. Our family with our three young kids stayed here for one night for a quick weekend trip to San Diego. The Good: The two-bedroom suite was spacious and well-appointed with everything you would need for cooking/sleeping. When we arrived around 9:30 am the airport shuttle arrived quickly and the driver was very kind and helpful. Since our room was understandably unavailable that early, we appreciated them letting us store our bags at the front desk and grab a bite to eat before heading out. The location is across the street from a great park which provided a place for the kids to play in the water or burn off some steam. The front desk called when our room became available around 2pm. I appreciated them contacting us proactively before the official 4 pm check-in time. The breakfast is your typical Residence Inn breakfast with fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, etc. To me its better than most hotel breakfasts that you'll find. The Bad: One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because one of the published Marriott Gold elite benefits is "guaranteed late check out as late as 4pm." The Marriott website confirms that this is "guaranteed at all hotels except resorts and convention hotels." Because we didn't need to head to the airport until around 5pm, rather than staying at another hotel we chose the Residence Inn so that we could stay until 4pm. When we requested our late-check out we were told the latest they could do is 2pm, unless we wanted to pay $115 to stay until 4pm. Had I known that this hotel would not honor the benefit I certainly would have stayed elsewhere. Another point of confusion was the hotel shuttle to the airport which they advertise on their website. When it was time to us to go to the airport we were told that they didn't have a driver so they would contact another hotel to try to bring us as a courtesy. If the airport shuttle can't be relied on, then they should update their website to note this as such. I have mixed feelings about this hotel, but with another newer Residence Inn just up the street with a better location, I will plan on staying there next time.

Used this hotel as a base for a recent conference. There is more than one Residence Inn in Downtown San Diego an my taxi driver took us to the wrong one initially, so need to be clear about the address. The room I stayed in was large and well appointed - it had a generous lounge with kitchen and two bedrooms, each with ensuite. The beds were very comfortable and I enjoyed 4 good nights sleep. I was pleased to hear on arrival that the hotel served complimentary food and drinks (including beer) for a couple of hours in the evening. Breakfast options were a little limited compared to some hotels; there were a few 'cooked' items and a range of buffet-items. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. There is also a shuttle bus that you can book.

It's an older and much more modest property than their sister locations, but it's well-maintained and is closely located to many of the waterfront attractions downtown. The included breakfast and small dinner/snack events in the lobby encourage mingling and an overall good community feel.
