All was good until Pendry tried to sneak double charge on me. I question the trust I can put into this hotel. I will be staying elsewhere on my next visit to San Diego.

Great location and vibe. Roof top pool was fun but too small.

No question that The Pendry is abuilt as a luxury hotel. If you expect RH and PB fixtures, this is the place to go. Valey parking charges excessive (and valet flattened one of our tires so we had to drive out on a flat to find a tire repair shop. Credited our bill for valet, but a wash as we has to pay for the repair). That also does not give them permission to charge for items in the room that were not purchased or used, If you pice something up for more than 60 seconds they auto charge your room. They do not go over your bill to confirm and they do a physical check, but charge you anyway. How many guests are paying for things they did not use or purchase? Charging resort fees for lobby coffee or water when it is not a resort hotel ($35 resort fee in case you get lobby coffee at the restaurant set out for that purpose?). Lionfish restaurant was touted as 5 star but our experience was less than that. All the food tasted the same with a spice that we could not identify, every dish tasted the same. Service was mediocre as our server disappeared a few times. Restaurant was nearly empty. The restaurant is actually a bar, open to the street/public to walk in. Prices were extravagant for the quality of our meals. Charged $6 for 4 slices of bread (if we wanted...). FYI- IF you wander more that 2-3 blocks in any direction, be prepared for a change in neighborhoods. Definitely this city is s bit seedy, homelessness and worn down. Pendry is a beautiful hotel but will soak the unwary.

The staff is very friendly and very well trained. I loved the beautiful design of the hotel - not the cookie cutter minimalistic design of most 5 star hotels today. Great spa, great restaurants- its my new favorite for US hotels. Can't wait to visit again.

Excellent restaurants and fitness center and great location!

Room were very well appointed, the staff was fabulous, friendly and very helpful. Love staying there and we will stay there again.

The location of the facility, the amenities and the employees were outstanding; the view was beautiful the pool and staff there were fabulous the room was clean quite and so comfortable it was a beautiful and Memorable weekend

LOVED the location of this property. It was very central to everything, you essentially don't have to leave. Ate breakfast at Provisional and had lunch at Nason's Beer Hall to catch some March Madness. The only thing was, we had a room on the lower floor (2nd floor) and the noise at night was a little much since it's in the Gaslamp.

Excellent location, great staff and amenities. Pricier than other nearby options but top notch hotel.

Excellent hotel in the heart of the Gaslamp district. Staff is very friendly.

I can't describe what a place! ***** I just simply to say - Best Vacation Place to stay. Well knowledgeable, pleasant, professional Staff.Extremely great 24/7 Service. Best breakfast menu, delicious. Friendly & Internationally diverse staff. Always fresh bread & pastries. My favorite part Interior Design- hands down to designer, greatly furnished rooms & lobby. Multiple places to find dinner: 5-6 restaurants on the property, high end service, well knowledge staff, great food presentation. I could go on and on. So many pleasant touches during our stay: daily fresh water and French macaroons will wait for you in the room. Thank you, will be back;)

Overall excellent. Friendliest and most accommodating staff I've seen. Only problem was noise over the pool weekend evening. Done by 2300 but still a little later than I liked. Good restaurants, ready access to the gaslight district and convention center and hotels.

First class all around. My son had a medical emergency while here and the staff handlerd it very professionally and compassionately. Highly recommended.

Beautiful new hotel in a great location! Walking distance to restaurants, bars and clubs

We had a great, relaxing week in San Diego, and we’re so glad we picked the Pendry. We arrived early in the day, about five hours before check-in. The staff happily took our bags and phoned up to housekeeping to have them get our room ready ASAP. We grabbed a quick bite to eat at a nearby restaurant before getting a call to let us know our room was ready. The room was perfect, cleaning staff did a great job and were accommodating when we were lazing in the room all morning some days. Would absolutely stay here again.

Excellent staff and accommodations. Very romantic for my wife and myself!
