Rooms air conditioning fan start ing making a loud noise at 230 am and when i notified the lobby, they informed me that since i booked through orbitz and not directly through them, they they were unable to do anything for me but offer a late checkout
There was no warning that the lobby was undergoing major construction. There was no lobby restroom! There was a small wall between the two lobby elevators, so one could push the button multiple times and not know that the elevator had opened on the other side of the wall.
I felt that since I stayed at a Holiday inn Express before staying at the Holiday Inn. I felt that the Express has more up to date things versus the Holiday Inn. I know you are upgrading. I will wait to see.
Everything was very neat and clean, I really appreciated the Keurig machine, the fridge and microwave in each room. The staff were very friendly and the location was easy to access from the freeway.

The property was located about 15 minutes from downtown San Diego in Miramar. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The concierge department deserves special mention as they transported me all over the area during my visit. The only disappointment was the size of the workout facilities. If you like craft beer, this is the perfect location as there are over 15 breweries within 5 miles of the hotel.
Check in was quick and the staff was friendly, room was very clean, beds were comfy.

I drove to San Diego Friday afternoon after a long day in Anaheim. We were stuck in traffic on the way & that set us back a few hours. I couldn't find a hotel less Downtown San Diego or surrounding areas. After searching on my own I decided to call the Orbitz reservation line to seek help finding a room for myself and two daughters. We arrived at the hotel late night/early morning. I was told I wouldn't be able to check in at first because the Orbitz Rep put in the wrong date and time. The front desk agent corrected the date & worked everything out for us to stay for the remainder of the time. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel, our room and comfort of the beds & pillows. The location of the hotel is conveniently right off the freeway. I thought the outside noise would be an issue. We were slept peacefully on the 6th flr. The next day our room was on the 1st flr. It was much smaller & smelled like mildew. There are a lot of restaurants, shopping & an outlet mall called Westfield University Town Center a short drive away from the hotel. My only regret was not booking the hotel for 2 nights like I planned originally. I made a separate reservation the next day directly w/ IHG. Also, I wasn't aware of the breakfast promotion for the guest, $7.50/per adult & kids eat free. If I would have been informed by agent that checked us in, we would have ate breakfast at the hotel instead of leaving the 1st day. My daughters enjoyed the pool. Overall nice hotel.
All of the staff was wonderful, professional and nurturing. They treated us like royalty. We were just a few minutes before the kitchen was going to close and they cooked more food just for us and made sure our drinks were full and we had everything we needed. We needed extra blankets for the sofa bed and a shower cap. We called them in separately and they brought them both with a smile and timelyness. All the restaurants were oriental and we wanted steaks so we went to the Butcher Block and it was heavenly, about 15 minutes away. Don't try going to the Hunter because it's closed.
