Though the property was kept clean, the rooms seemed small compared to what i normally expect. The bathroom, especially, seemed to be shoehorned in. Also, the construction noise, but that will go away, eventually.
The breakfast was great. Lots of options.
It was tolerable. Unfortunately, one night in particular I found myself killing several roaches in the room. Which had me on edge the remainder of my stay.

Hidden gem! Carlos at the reception desk treated us like royalty, he went above and beyond, he provided us with great info on restaurants and places to tour, thanks to the info he provided us with we were able to visit places we hadn't known. There was a lady serving breakfast, she was great too. About the Hotel, family oriented, very clean, we enjoy sleeping with the windows open (there are screens).

So although this wasn't my first choice, I really enjoyed my stay because of the friendly staff and how close it was to the places I wanted to visit (Gaslamp, Seaport, Little Italy). I ended up parking my car and just using a Lyft at night ($3-$5). The walk was usually about 1 mile, which wasn't bad at all. The rooms were a little small, but we were fine with it because we weren't planning on spending our day in the hotel to begin with. They also provide complimentary breakfast, which was also a plus!
You get what you pay for. Its a nice hotel for the money! No complains here.
the place had a different kind of feel. the additional details parking ($15/night) was not a good surprise when checking out. If I had caught the fact that it was not included, I probably would have booked elsewhere.
Nice, clean small complex, had to pay for parking, it's great if you want to walk to Petco park or the Gaslamp Quarter.
Good value for downtown San Diego. Walking distance to Gaslamp district. Very clean room, if a little small. Comfortable bed and bedding. Pleasant experience.
The rooms are rather small. Our bathroom did not have an exhaust fan. Parking was available for every guest but at a $15 charge. The hotel is close by the Gas District and with easy access to the freeway. The facility is well maintained although the walkway upstairs is a bit slanted (about 2 degrees) at the stairwell location - not much of a problem. The hotels provides a modest continental breakfast (6 to 10 a.m.), which saves time in the morning as there are no restaurants in the area. The hotel staff was very helpful in providing directions to attractions.
