The room itself was fine. The lobby was nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Main concern was that the shower would not turn on. Didn't realize this until rushing to get ready in the morning. Shower faucet would turn on, but the shower could not be turned on. Was left taking bath on my knees trying to wash self under the faucet. Staff did offer to allow us to take shower in a different room, but when in a rush, you don't want to bring your things to another room. Can't understand why cleaning staff would not discover this problem. Really unacceptable.
We were expecting just a normal regular stay here but we're very pleasantly surprised. Ray at the front desk was super friendly and very accommodating! He helped us with local places to eat and was very friendly. Our room was impeccably clean and impressed with all the extras and modern details holiday inn offers. Yes it's still a basic hotel room, but nice pillows and sheets, good bath amenities and very clean. Our breakfast was pretty good too. Wouldn't mind staying here longer and staying here again if we come back through here.
Holiday Inn was mostly fantastic. Friendly staff, easy check-in and check-out processes, and conveniently located. Clean room. Shout out to Isabelle, our breakfast waitress, who worked with such joy with every customer. OJ and coffee were good, but the breakfast egg-white burrito lacked taste-yes, it is an egg-white based meal, but a few seasonings would do wonders. Staying here was perfect as we ventured to our next destination.
We stayed here as we were passing through Roswell. We we walked in the room, and when we turned the light on there was a roach on the wall. The air was off and it was so hot. It took a while for the room to cool off. The desk chair was broken and the big light in the bathroom was out. The front desk gave us a $25 discount, but when paying over $200 for the room, it doesn't help much. Just not worth the price. We will stay at Hampton Inn next time.
The hotel is new so is clean and sparkling. We arrived and reception was empty. Had to wait a while and then go looking for staff. Checked in. Room was large and comfortable. Our room overlooked the back parking lot which meant we could park the car where we could see it. The hotel is on the edge of Roswell so if you do not eat in the hotel you have to drive or take a very long walk to find a restaurant. We sat for breakfast and were surprised to see a menu. Another guest asked a waitress why there was no buffet and the reply was that there was only a buffet available when the hotel was full. The waitress came to take our order and I said that breakfast was included in our price. She informed me that I should have been given vouchers when we checked in. So I went to reception where I was told breakfast was not included in our price. We had a hotel voucher that stated breakfast was included. The receptionist gave me breakfast vouchers for that morning. We ordered breakfast from the menu.Service was extremely slow for a place that was not busy. We went out for the day and on our return I asked reception for breakfast vouchers for the following morning. I was given them without any fuss. It was a typical chain hotel and nothing special.
I would like to start this review by stating simply, Roswell is wonderful. We were so incredibly surprised by this city. I'm not sure how to explain what we were expecting, but Roswell and its people impressed us so much, we are considering making it our retirement home. In fact, many friends have said that I've not been the same since returning to Michigan. They would be right, I have missed the area terribly since our vacation there in April (yes, I'm slacking on the review timing). This Holiday Inn also far exceeded our expectations. The location is fantastic, the grounds are clean, the hotel is still very new and the food in the restaurant is great. But that's not what made this hotel earn an "Excellent" rating from me. It's the people. Wow yes, the people! We came down to Roswell after staying in a very highly rated place (and very pricey as well, I might add) in Santa Fe for several nights. Our service in Santa Fe was completely awful. Our room was poorly cleaned. It was such a horribly disappointment, that I became very concerned that our entire New Mexico experience would be soured. But from the very second we drove into the parking lot of this Holiday Inn, I knew our vacation was about to turn around. This is not just a chain establishment. This is a home away from home. The level to which this Holiday Inn took service and cleanliness to, should be the standard all hotels in the industry are held to. For the younger readers, THIS PLACE ROCKS! My husband and I want to acknowledge three members of the Holiday Inn Roswell staff. First and foremost, Jerome (Evening Restaurant Manager) was fabulous! We ate in the restaurant one evening and several mornings for breakfast. He was there not only the evening we had dinner (he was also our server for that night), but also one morning at breakfast. We are on a special eating plan and Jerome had no issues tweaking our salads to be compliant with our diet. He even went a step further for me when I asked for a slice of lemon or lime to add to my sparkling water; he mixed it with fresh squeezed lime juice from the bar. This has now become my new obsession! He spent a great deal of time with us, asking about Michigan and suggesting lots of places to check out while in New Mexico. He shared stories of all the wonderful customers he's had the pleasure of working with while being at the Holiday Inn. Jerome made the visit personal, he made it special. I'll be honest, I truly feel Jerome made our entire trip to New Mexico worthwhile. In addition to the wonderful experience with Jerome, we had such incredibly prompt, professional and courteous service from Hagar (our morning waitress) that we continued to eat breakfast at the hotel simply for her! She is definitely an asset to the hotel. Last but certainly not least, Manager Nikki is spectacular! She was always ready with a smile and showed a genuine interest in where we were from and what brought us to New Mexico. It was always clear to us, that Nikki's goal was to ensure every guest not only had a stay as close to perfection as possible, but for them to return to New Mexico. Believe me, Nikki, we'll be back. I really can't say enough good things about the Holiday Inn Roswell. But I certainly hope that this review will assure the reader, that your booked stay here will absolutely not disappoint. Furthermore, don't just "stop over" in Roswell. Book a few nights, enjoy the gorgeous weather, the fun attractions (let go and be silly, buy an alien t'shirt) and most importantly, savor the beauty that is.....the people of New Mexico!
When passing through to Santa Fe we decided to stop for the night in Roswell. Now normally we stay away from these chain hotels in small towns but in this case we were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, the breakfast was actually pretty good, and the front desk people were very accommodating. The rooms were also big and you had plenty of room for your travel gear. The price wasn't over the top either. We would definitely stay here again.
I am a bit disappointed in my stay. I came to Roswell on business. Learned breakfast would not be served until after 6:30 AM. No coffe available. And when asked, was provided cold ciffe as attwndanr was more interesred in watching TV.
We came with 12 year old and 2 year old. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was small, and the water was a little murky. The hot tub was not working and was cold. Breakfast was good. They had a made to order breakfast. The waitress at breakfast was really nice. They did run out of bacon though. We would stay here again.
I honestly try to work in Roswell as much as I can only because it allows me to stay here at the Holiday Inn. The staff is fantastic, especially Jeannette, she's at the front desk will take care of anything you need, Steve at the bar will Steve up only the best drinks, Kyla can serve you up the best food this hotel has with an amazing smile on her face. Absolutely one of my favorite hotels to stay at. It makes me sad to go when I have too. The rooms have always been fantastic and never had a single issue.
