I stayed here because a friend had booked it but I would not stay here again. We had to pay 8 euros for internet only to find out that it was per device so if you have a phone and laptop then you pay 16 euros for a week's internet access in the hotel. The breakfast is meager and they had cold cereal (corn flakes, etc) with luke-warm milk plus the termini area, where the hotel is located, is a bit sketchy. This was my first time in Rome but if I ever go back, I will stay somewhere else.
Stayed there at the end of our Euro trip, but before staying in Rome, we headed to Florence and Venice and didn't want to lug around our big suitcases, so with our confirmed booking, they kept our suitcases for 3 nights which was a big relief. I advise you book directly with hotel as it comes of REALLY cheap, I think we paid 60eu for a standard room with breakfast (they offer staggered pricing for each additional service +breakfast, +bfast&wifi, etc.) which I think is brilliant. Room is clean and spacious (1 queen bed and a single bed), but as mentioned by some, some odor coming from pipes in toilet--did not bother us though. Breakfast was simple fare, bread, jam+butter+cheese, I think cereals are on offer too. Couldnt complain.
Good location for a reasonable price, 5 mins walk from the main station. 20 mins or so from the colosseum. Continental breakfast was ok. Only negative was the wi-fi was only free for a day or two I think. No problems with the room and overall a good stay
The main reason I stayed there was for the closeness to the train station. The paid wi-fi was very slow, and the desk person was very helpful. We arrived very late so we had to use their driver to pick us up at the airport. That man has great driving skills! The room was a bit cramped and the shower was very small. It's good for a night and there is no frills about it.
The old guy is very rude. If asking him a question, We would answer in sarcastic way. Like the internet is down and We paid for it, he responded " im not the technician" when We asked when the service will get back, instead for apology. The hotel is in good location and that is right but the rudeness is thumbs down. Never get back here!
Good hotel in the heart of Rome. Very close to Stazione Termini and shopping centre of Via Nazionale. A lot of restaurants close buy. Hotel is clean and has good breakfast. Gentle staff. I went there twice.
We were irritated to find that we had to pay for wifi. We were even more irritated to find this only entitled one of us to use email.. Most irritating of all was the manager's attempt to justify, what we felt was, petty extortion by claiming a high minded concern for download speeds. Otherwise the hotel is clean and rooms comfortable albeit cramped.
From check-in throughout our stay in the Hotel, the staff were super friendly, offering suggestions on rooms, attractions, cheap eats etc. Our room was nice and modestly furnished. The Hotel is located 2 minutes from Termini Station on 1 side and Metro Vittorio Emmanuele (not to be mistaken for the monument, pls) on the other.
I was on my honeymoon stay at this hotel assuming to be best fit in the budget but please avoid this hotel if you can. The neighbourhood is full of prostitutes and unsafe. The hotel manager was rude and very unhelpful. They will charge 6 Euro for WiFi for one device and you will get no speed. No water and no room services. It was very difficult to spend one night even though I had pre-booked stay for 3 nights. I shifted to different hotel first thing in the morning.
Brilliant location 2 minutes from train station, ideally located for food and drinks in the evening before retiring. A ten minute walk from the colleseum. I found the room tiday and clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Had read reviews saying the area was a bit down beat and had people loitering about but I found it very unthreatening. Yes there were people hanging around but they were engaged in their own chit chat and didn't bother us at all. I really enjoyed my stay and am coming back next year, the hotel Mariano is my new go to hotel. And with a spare bed in the room I have no qualms about bringing my 8yr old next time.
