We booked Hotel 55 but we taken to another hotel called La Maison D’Art. It was half a kilometre away. It was small and the reception on our floor was so dirty I complained and then at midnight someone was outside our room scrubbing it. It was bad as we couldn’t sleep. For three nights they had Jack hammering outside our window so we didn’t get much sleep till we got to Dubai. Great location and breakfast but room was not Four Star like advertised and not hotel we booked.

Consider the following. We booked our room several months before our trip. When we arrived to check in, they had us walk with our bags a quarter of a mile to the overflow hotel. It was a hotel composed of several other hotels in one building. That was somewhat of a red flag but the least of our worries. The hallways and rooms had an odor that wasn’t great. The bathroom had these little grey stonefish-like bugs that kept appearing. The hotel also failed to inform us that the street below would undergo construction every night from 9:30pm to nearly 3:00am! Jackhammers, dump trucks and loud workers. We hardly slept the entire time. When we complained about the noise they told us that we could switch rooms for the final night. It wasn’t worth it because you can tell everyone in the building no matter where they stayed were affected by the noise. The housekeeping and breakfast staff were very nice but the people at the main building were very short and unhelpful. Beware if you plan on picking this hotel.

Our stay was fantastic. Hotel 55 sits directly on Via Del Corsa, one of the main walking streets in old Rome. All of the main sight seeing sites are within walking distance. Hotel 55 staff are great. Providing help with taxis, attractions etc. Edwin the bar tender rocks! We will stay there again next time we’re in Rome Ciao!

We stayed in the other hotel building in Via del Corso, 3-5 mins walk from the main building hotel 55. I didn’t know that at first. We checked in the main hotel 55 and walked to the other building, assisted by the bellboy. Location was very accessible to all the luxury shopping centers, Spanish steps, Piazza del Popolo, Trevi and lots of churches, there was one just in front of our hotel. They have a lift for easy access to rooms. Their breakfast chef Glen was absolutely amazing! He interacted with guest, super friendly. Huge thanks to Glen, super amazing and so helpful, gave great tips on where to go and what to do, and shared local history in Rome. Breakfast had a lot of choices and tasted good! Felt safe in the hotel, staff were trusted and cleans room daily. I would 💯 recommend this hotel!

Great location for history and shopping

Hotel was in an excellent location for historical sites and high end shopping and restaurants. Service was friendly and the breakfast was great. Only complaint is the WiFi did not work at all if your room is on an upper floor and we had to sit in the lobby to get access.

Terrible stay for a “4-star hotel” first of us when we got there we had to walk with luggage because there was a marathon going on and the hotel didn’t even have the courtesy of emailing guest. When we got to the room it was very dusty. Extremely small room! Only nice thing was the small balcony with a nice view. I wrote to staff several times and no answer. Would not recommend this place.

Worst hotel I've stayed at. First in foremost, I was practically eaten alive from bed bugs which the management seemed to not care about at all. Secondly, the walls are paper thin so you can hear the guy snoring 4 rooms over and every conversation in between. The bathroom fan did not work and we had no hot water from the sink. Not to mention, you get led through the city on a 3 minute walk only to be abandoned at the elevator inside the building to find your room. You're given a sheet with the access codes and a phone number for issues. But you can text them using "Whatsapp" which I don't have or intend to get. If you call you just get sent to voicemail. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this poor excuse for a hotel.

the main downside was somewhat misrepresentation of the higher room category. The pictures they posted with the hotel listing and the room we originally got were completely different. We got a dark, shoebox room, with absolutely no view (inside view like a prison). The price for the room I booked was quite high. After I complained, they gave us a new room, which was very similar to the ones on the pictures for hotel listing on expedia.

Hotel was not located where we purchased / researched. Had to walk a few blocks away on foot (wanted to avoid dragging luggage down packed streets to begin with). Room was similar to a closet with no windows. Also ordered a service to pick us up to take us to the airport. Front desk attendant said someone would call / text to confirm. No one did, so we ubered. Received a message the next day where they were trying to charge us since the driver DID arrive. I’m sorry, but I’m not risking a flight on blind faith, I expect confirmation of a requested service I am going to pay for. Either via call, text, or email. Never had an experience like this.

We were in the annex building. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend staying in the annex building. The security of the room felt a little lacking. The window could easily be opened from the outside and there was no lock. They need to heighten the security a bit more to make guest comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly and offered prompt service when requested. The hotel felt relatively clean although the carpets were a bit dirty in the halls.

Would stay again. Lots of places to visit!in walking distance. Close to Spanish steps. Great morning breakfast at a small additional cost. Staff was helpful. Get your guide had great tour guides that were in close proximity to this location. Pharmacy is on the corner as well. Room was great. Nice window overlooking the streets to get that Italy feel. Elevator was small small but did the job. I would definitely recommend.
