This hotel was fabulous for our needs. We stayed in a twin room which had traditional decor , was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was beautifully tiled and clean. Breakfast was of a buffet style with good choices. The restaurant was on the 6th floor with panoramic views over Rome......an amazing backdrop whilst enjoying your food. All staff were very , very, helpful and friendly. This little jewel of a hotel was perfectly situated for walking to all of Rome’s tourists attractions as well as bars, cafes and shops. We did catch the tube to the Vatican.......but you could walk it. We had pre booked our trip around the Vatican and needed to have a very early start. ( I would recommend you pre book attractions as the queues can be miles long! ) We will definitely return to this hotel and highly recommend it.
Hotel is very well located, 5min walk from the Trevi fontaine. It is design in a classic style, as was our room. The room was nicely arranged, but humidity and tiny walls were a disturbing factor. Bathroom deserved refreshment. Breakfast was good, served in a room at the 6th floor with a panoramic view of Rome, by friendly and polite waiters. We could not use the hotel bar as it was closed during the afternoon.
We spent a week at Hotel Barberini for our 45th wedding anniversary. It was our first time in Italy. The room was beautiful with a little balcony overlooking the street. The staff was wonderful, and Mattias at the front desk gave us directions everyday to where we wanted to go. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. My wife is gluten free, and they arranged a special dinner for her on our anniversary night. They also gave us complimentary Lemochello and dessert for our anniversary. One of the staff booked train tickets for us for a trip to Assisi. For an ancient hotel, they had some fairly modern amenities, such as USB plugs in the wall. They provided a cell phone that was totally free, I used this each day for the Google maps app so I did not need to use data on my own phone. If I am ever fortunate enough to go back to Italy again, I would definitely stay there.
Booked a junior suite which was gorgeous and looked very much classic european which we love. Location is great. 5-15 minute walk to most places such as Trevi fountain, pantheon, park, colliseum and spanish steps. A little longer walk to the Vatican. Their breakfast room has a nice view of the city facing St Peters. Breakfast was OK. Servers were very good. Not much choice at night if you want a drink or food.
As we arrived at the hotel there was no place to park, even though parking was listed on their site. We had to park on a sidewalk to check in. They came and moved the car to a parking area, which seemed okay. When we checked out, the guy brought the car back and demanded a $50 charge for parking. The hotel had told us that they provided a parking garage. Made this visit end on a very sour note. We will not recommend this hotel to any of our friends.
We enjoyed our three nights stay. Great location, near metro station, hope-on/hope off, supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants and walking distance to most of the sites. Ver friendly and helpful staff. Decent breakfast with a view.
I thought all of the staff were great to me and extremely helpful. You have to go to the 6th floor restaurant/bistro to see the view. My bed was fantastic and the rest of the room was quite comfortable. I did not try the spa, though after all the walking I did, especially on plenty of cobblestone streets, I could have used the whirlpool. And the hotel was fairly centrally located to everywhere I was planning on going. Furthest point was probably Vatican at only 1.25 miles away.
After a stressful arrival into Rome (the airline lost my friend's luggage) we checked into the hotel and explained that we would need them to call the airport for us for an update on the missing luggage. They informed us that they have a system that can is linked to the airport so they can check for lost luggage updates. The hotel checked every few hours for the luggage, without us having to ask, and after 24 hours they called our room to confirm they found the luggage and would have it delivered to our room whilst we were out - a very helpful front desk team. The hotel itself was nice - our room was a bit smaller than I'm used to, but nonetheless still a good room - if you like modern fittings and room this may not be the hotel for you. We had a little balcony, perfect for the mornings and free tea and coffees. The hotel offers a free buffet breakfast on the top floor which was your standard: fruits; yogurt; cereals; bread; pastries; eggs; bacon; vegetables - all very tasty. The location of the hotel is great - just a 5 minute walk down the hill to the Trevi Fountain where there are loads of restaurants and gelaterias, as well as a small supermarket.
Friend of mine and I stayed there last night and we had zero complaints. The room was way nicer than what was expected due to paying $80. Everything needed was in the room to include USB ports in the wall for travelers. Complimentary breakfast was good also. Nice location near a metro which is a necessity to get around. Overall pleased with this hotel and if I ever make it back to Rome I will stay there again for sure. The only issue we had and it wasn't the hotels fault, was the need for passports in Italy. Being military you can travel without passports to some of these countries due to our profession. Recommend placing on web pages the requirement for passports if you don't have local ID.
My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights last week to celebrate my 30th birthday. We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel itself was well ran, clean and classy. The reception staff were very helpful and informative whilst we were there. The welcome drink was a really nice touch too. The bar/ restaurant on the top floor is just beautiful with amazing views over Rome. Breakfast offered a whole range of pastries, cold meats, cereals, fruit and cheeses etc. The breakfast staff were very pleasant and happy to fetch anything we needed. There is a spa in this hotel but we unfortunately did not find time to visit it. There are lots to do around the area in which the hotel is situated. There is a big square with bars and restaurants just a 5 min walk down the hill and the trevi fountain and amazing pantheon a further 10-15 min walk. The hotel was in a perfect location for us and we even walked over to the coliseum which didn't take very long at all. A taxi to the train station to catch our coach to airport also only cost 10 euros. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a great stay and a very memorable birthday!
