BEWARE. It is difficult to explain my experience at the Secret Rhome. There is no sign and difficult to find. They will let you in with a key and then disappear. There is no service. The floor of the room was sticky. It was loud directly on the street. The bathroom door did not actually shut. I travel all over the world and this has never happened: before dinner, I realized that I could never stay so I booked another room at a different hotel and left. The only way to contact the people in charge was via WhatsApp. I did not have this and they said I had to have it to communicate. The man who checked us in was easy to access and, at first, kind. We prepaid and yet he demanded an additional payment when we arrived. When we left he asked for a good review. I said I was unable to do so given the experience and inability to stay. I then wrote saying that the website was misleading and that I wanted to help them not receive complaints. They should not call it a LUXURY INN and should explain it better. He then wrote back and insulted me and called me ignorant. Never have I been directly insulted like this. He then said “I hope I never hear from you again.” I was stunned at how awful my experience was. No, I would not recommend this place. The location is good but it is not worth it.
Check in reception was very welcoming, Rooms are clean, towels are replaced daily should you wish. Left to your own devices which is nice and the location is PERFECT for a busy weekend of sight seeing. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely fantastic location!!! Basic room: clean and enough for somewhere to go sleep and shower. Doesn’t provide breakfast so you would have to find places near by which isn’t hard. Only downfall is that there is no one around should you have any questions or problems. Once you’re checked in and shown your room, you’re pretty much on your own! Other than that; perfect for a short city break!!!
My family and I stayed in this Hotel for two nights, and overall were very satisfied with our stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by the host, who was very hospitable and polite. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and fairly sized for European standards. The best feature of this place is location, as it is walking distance from the many attractions in the city.
It's very nice and clean place, perfectly located that you can visit most important of Rome sights by foot. Room was simple and elegant but beds were very comfortable and staff is very kind and helpfull. Definitely excellent choice
This was an odd place to say the least..the first challenge was finding the hotel(hence secret i guess)as no sign on the building with name on or anything..had to ring the number on the confirmation and a friendly guy came out and met us and explained because of the history of the building no signs were allowed on it..ok fair enough..he then led us through a courtyard to the 'reception' which was a small table in a tight corridor..we arrived about 1130 am and we were told our room was ready and could check in so fair play on that one..our room was basic it looked to me that when it was converted to a hotel the work done was poor quality especially the bathroom a loose toilet seat and sink..and you had to run the shower for a good 3 to 4 minutes before water hot enough to use came through and then it was luke warm..no where to hang up your shampoo or shower gel and soap etc..a make shift clothes hanger in the bedroom with with just two hangers..the whole place lacked any character and looked half finished to me..yes the staff were friendly yes it's a good location and yes it was clean but if you are calling yourself a 'luxury' hotel you expect a little more it's ok as a bed for the night if you spend minimal time in it whilst seeing the sights of Rome but if you do want a luxury hotel avoid this place for sure
Great stay all around. Very easy to access by bus. Great location. Alessia and staff were perfect. Very helpful. Room is nice and clean. Lots of outlets to plug in, shower is nice and hot, and the WiFi is fast. No complaints again. I plan on staying here next time.
I can't understand how this place go such fabulous reviews, unless these were written by friends of the owner... The location is indeed excellent, the rooms are clean, and the Wi Fi connection is decent (though not uniformly good). Other than that, there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING 'luxurious' about this place although it's advertised as a 'Luxury Inn in Rome'. I gave it 2 stars only because of its location, otherwise it deserves maybe just 1 (for cleanliness). We arrived at 10 pm, had to wake up a caretaker who spoke rudimentary English (there's no front desk), got a small room that was crammed with a 3rd bed that we'd never ordered, no bedside reading lamps (these somehow materialised the next day), no closet in the room, no safe, no blankets (we asked for a blanket but never got it; had to use the bedspread instead...). Additionally, for a 'Luxury Inn' that serves no breakfast, we would have expected to have a kettle in the room to make coffee or tea, but this 'luxurious' place doesn't provide that. The (small) window opens onto a small, somewhat neglected, garden on a lower level (no access from the room), opposite a very busy street (no river view).
