Heads up! For the price and location, this is a really good place to stay if you are visiting family, colleges, the Erie Canal, or having a Wegman's withdrawal episode. The free breakfast is nourishing if you like the basics, and the waffle maker is a bonus. Rooms are small. The lighting in the rooms is parsimonious. But the TV is large and there are many channels. If you want to spend 2 to 3 times the rack rate by driving a few blocks -- ask yourself why? Not every hotel has to offer huge rooms and a water park. Do the math...especially if you are just looking for a place to sleep. . Even with snow on the ground, we could walk to a nearby Japanese, Chinese, or Pizza restaurant. All of them pretty darn good.
This hotel is so dingy. The rooms are small and dark and need serious updating. Because the room is so dark, it gives a feeling of being dirty. You cannot apply make-up in the room because the light is so poor. The bathroom was small and gross. Would not stay there again or recommend.
This brand new, comfortable hotel exceeded our expectations. The rooms are very clean & spacious, and the beds, very comfortable! We found the staff very friendly, attentive and quick to respond to a couple of requests we had. The breakfast area is wonderful and warm, and the location is the hotel is ideal.
We stayed at this hotel on a Wednesday night so that we could go to RBTL Aud Theater to watch School of Rock. It was only a 10 minute drive-so it worked well. This location is also convenient to many restaurants. We were checked in and out by really friendly front desk staff. Just as we left for the theater it started to just pour rain. We did have 1 umbrella with us-but since there were 2 of us, and we knew we had to walk to the theater from our dinner parking lot, we needed another umbrella. The front desk was awesome in loaning us an umbrella. As it turns out-the rains stopped, and we didn't even need umbrellas, but we were pleased that they were able to loan us one just in case!! The bed was super comfortable, and we had a great sleep. Breakfast was very good-waffles, eggs, sausage...and even Chobani Greek Yogurt. There were a couple things we noticed that could be improved upon. There are no elevators, which is not really a problem-but the carpeted stairs off the front lobby were very dirty. A vacuum would have easily solved that issue. The bathroom light is combined with the fan-and the fan is SUPER noisy. Most of the time we chose to leave the light off so we didn't have to deal with the fan noise. The WIFI was not good-and we just turned off the WIFI and used 4G throughout our stay. Overall, we would return to this hotel if we needed to be in the Rochester area.
As a choice rewards platinum member I was really disappointed with my stay at this hotel, First of all I reserved a suite because I was traveling with family and I wanted some privacy at night. The room I checked into while i.e. was a suite the only heating/cooling unit was in the main room which meant when the bedroom door was closed it got warm very quickly. I would imagine that during the winter the inverse would be true and the bedroom would be pretty chilly. In order to maintain a comfortable sleeping temp the bedroom door needs to stay open which defeats the purpose of having a separate bedroom. Secondly when as checked in late in the evening the front desk clerk was gruff bordering on rude with one word answers, no eye contact and generally very unfriendly. I asked him if I should park in the front or back of the building and he said, "it doesn't matter" so I asked a follow-up question, is my room closer to the front or back? He grunted "back". So I pull my car around to the back, take the suitcases out and try to get in the back door with my room key which doesn't work. So I wheel my bags to the front go in and tell him the back door doesn't open and I think the card reader is broken because it didn't even light up. Without looking up he said "they are aware of it" as he picked up the phone to make a call. I looked at him in some disbelief and asked him why he hadn't made me aware of it when I asked where I should park and he just shrugged his shoulders. I wouldn't stay here again and having just dropped my son off at nearby St John Fisher college to begin his freshman year I expect to visit Rochester often but not this place.
First, I do have to say the room was clean and inviting. It was the smallest room I have ever stayed in, any where. I guess I hadn't realized at the time that it was a more of a microtel. The hotel does have 3 floors of rooms but there was no elevator. The parking lot is small but I don't think it filled up during either of the 2 nights I stayed there. The room was reasonably priced for the area and the staff was friendly and helpful.
We recently visited the Rochester area and stayed at this hotel. We were very pleased with our stay. The room, while on the small side, was clean and the bed reasonably comfortable. The free breakfast had a variety of offerings and my husband thought the coffee was good. The location was easy to find and located right beside the highway. We wanted a quiet restfull weekend away and to be able to spend some time outside and maybe even fish. We were lucky enough to have a maid that was knowledgable about the area and shared with us a wonderful place that fit our requirements perfectly. Thank you Brenda, you made our trip an amazing and everything we were hoping it would be. You went out of your way to help us and then checked in with us the next day. It meant alot and we appreciated all you did. The world needs more of people who go that extra mile...just because they can. Not because they have to.
Stayed one night at Comfort Inn and the room was very small but it was clean. This hotel had the smallest bathroom I have ever been in. Not enough room to sit on the toilet with the door open. Price for this room was $120 plus tax which seems pretty expensive for such a tiny space. Breakfast was good, but again a very small place to eat. Only 10-12 small tables. Stayed on a Friday night with two teenagers and I was upset to find that the entire first floor of the hotel smelled like marijuana when we entered the hotel.
This is the most expensive comfort Inn I've stayed at and the worst one. I'm a big roadtripper so I'm a choice privileges member. I like to stick with my comfort inns and comfort suites so trust me I've stayed in a lot! The sink was outside the bathroom and the room in general is really small. No pool. Honestly not terrible but considering the price I was pretty thrown off. Like I said it's the priciest comfort Inn and actually might be pricier than any comfort suites I've stayed at. I think that's why I'm so disappointed. I'd definitely recommend they lower prices to reflect what you're getting. It really shouldn't be more than $130, I'd even say lower for the fact that this location isn't all that.
Just needed a place to stay over two nights while visiting family. Did not spend any time there other than sleeping. It was quiet and clean yet very spartan. We did not eat the continental breakfast that was provide but it too looked adequate.
