Nice but noisy
Cool historic building with great design concept. Only problems are lack of soundproofing so you hear everything and 2 large windows in bathroom so shades have to stay closed for privacy and no natural light. Top down shades would have been way better

The hotel is beautiful yet functional. It's only one block from the Amtrak and right in the dining and entertainment downtown district. The interior of the hotel is quiet and well appointed. Great place.

To keep this as short as possible, this hotel was an overall disappointment. First of all the rooms were dirty and dusty. There were thick layers of dust EVERYWHERE and I mean everywhere. I don’t know if they’ve ever changed the air filters it was so bad we were unable to use the heat or air. The bed the sheets weren’t even pushed down behind the bed or tucked under it, sheets were thrown on top of the mattress. The towels were rough and honestly were such poor quality. I questioned if the maid didn’t take a wet towel that somebody else used prior to us staying in the room and just rehung it instead of getting us new ones. In terms of the toiletries not a big deal, but when you have two conditioners, no shampoo, no lotion and a body wash that’s irritating. It looks like some kid wiped boogers all over one of the chairs in the room, which was appalling or who knows could’ve been an adult. Oh and I guess cleaning the toilets was not part of cleaning the room for the next guest. Their breakfast is a joke we went downstairs and we were told they’re out of the two breakfast sandwiches because they’re frozen sandwiches they get delivered and they ran out so basically you can get something continental like bagels instant oatmeal etc. The staff is less than friendly. There’s one girl in particular who is younger with reddish brown hair that wears glasses who is just awful and not polite. The noise!! Trains, drag, racing loud music and people screaming all hours of the day and night.

We enjoyed this unique property which has been well maintained with an excellent combination of historical character and modern amenities. The only drawback was a “nightclub” near the hotel which was very noisy well past midnight both nights.

Great hotel with horrible noise control
Room was clean and big with great views. However, the noise during the night was unacceptable. Music was blaring, cars were roaring and there was no way to sleep since we could hear all of this from the street. The noise didn’t stop until 3am. We didn’t notice the ear plugs in the room but maybe it would’ve helped. Cancelled our next reservation here due to noise.

The staff was great and the rooms were very clean. There was a coolness factor to the hotel being an old bank, and the bar area was very nice. The lack of, and uncomfortableness of the room seating was a surprise. Our first room had no seating and the coffee make did not work. We switched to a deluxe king that had one small chair and a very uncomfortable bench. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but will try a different hotel on next trip to Roanoke.

I stayed here for 2 times within a week. First night was good so i reserved another night a few days later. Now, I checked in and found the bed have blood stain all over with hair here and there. They covered that with a flat sheet. Im so glad I uncover the sheet before I lay down. Hotel didn't have the room service manager so the restaurant manager came and got us the new room and apologized with breakfast coupons but I couldn't feel comfortable in a new room either. Never seen this kind of bed in any hotels in my life.

Very unique hotel
I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Very cool transformation from a former bank to a hotel. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The location is very close to many attractions downtown and parking in the garage across the street will be validated at the front desk but there is a small fee. The downstairs bar is very cool and has a good selection of cocktails.
