Beautiful ground with access to easy hikes. Many outdoor activities available. Lakeside porches are in need of updating/upgrading
Loved the lake view. Room was spacious. It’s a little dated but noticed renovations in progress. I loved the fire pits. We ended up going to Walmart and getting stuff for s’mores. The kit we purchased from the front counter was stale. The marshmallows were rock hard. The pizza at the lounge and pretzel sticks were very good. Other than that it was a great place to stay and we would come back.
Atmosphere was nice. I wanted to hike and there was a trail close to lodge. What i didn’t like was the room was run down. Bed was lumpy and hard. Uncomfortable. The tub faucet dripped constantly and I couldn’t sleep. Was excited to have a view of the lake but when I pulled back the curtain there was a crane blocking the view! My stay was horrible!
It was a pretty Location and cozy room. Liked the fire place.
This is a wonderful state park lodge, with a big fireplace, lots of windows with views to the forest and lake.
The location is breathtaking, especially in the evening. The rooms are clean and I love that there was a duvet, stored in the closet, for me to use
It was fun and served our purpose to have a place to watch Ohio State win the National Championship.
Quick overnight. Wish I had more time as the hotel has been kept up and was relaxing
The hotel is located in a state park, about a 15 minute drive to Oxford. Our room was a very long walk from the reception desk. We passed through a very large room filled with electronic games and then down long hallways. The carpets in the hallways were stained. All of the doors to the hotel rooms along the way were dinged. There also appeared to be some water damage. Our room was cheaply furnished, the bathroom door did not lock, next to an ice machine, overlooked the parking lot, the pillows were misshapen and worn out, and the beds wobbled. I asked to be switched to a different room but was told there were no other rooms available. When I discovered that the dead bolt on the door to the hallway did not work, I called back to the front desk. A different person answered this time, and she offered to move us to a different room, which surprised me because the previous employee told me there were no other rooms available. Since it was 10 pm, I asked if someone could just come and fix the lock and was told that maintenance would be there "right away". 15 minutes later, no one had come to our room so I called back and was told that maintenance was not responding to her calls. We ended up sleeping in a room whose dead bolt did not work. I asked that the price be adjusted and she said she would leave a note for the manager. When we checked out, I again asked that the price be adjusted and was told the manager would call me. No one ever called me.
Arrived after a long day and our request at checkin to switch from cottage to lodge was easily accomodated. Room was clean and comfortable with a lovely lake view. Because we were there for orientation at Miami, which lasted all day into evening, we were unable to take advantage of any of the park's features. Common areas a bit worn and dated and had to go down a floor for ice, but that was a minor issue.

I apologize for your most recent stay. We are in the process of completing our new roof along with fire protection in all the rooms. Please know that this is not our normal, and I will speak to my managers regarding these issues.
