With a high rating, I was quite surprised when I arrived at the property. It is a tumble-down hotel. The desk clerk was behind dirty plexiglass and was unfriendly and rude. The parking situation was bad and felt very unsafe. The rooms are just regular keys with the plastic diamond attached, and the deadbolt was accessible from the outside. The towels had dirt spots on them and there were hairs in the bathtub.
It is in a sketchy neighborhood, so I called Expedia and and I got my money back. However, they charge a ridiculous deposit ($160) that won't be returned to my card for three or four days.
I would pay the extra and stay somewhere else. I was very disappointed in the rating on Expedia, which as a woman who travels alone a lot, I have come to trust. They are way off on this one.
