I stayed at this location once before but never had the opportunity to spend anytime at the bar. Tonight was different and it was an amazing evening made possible by Cynthia the on duty bartender! I spent the entire evening there , in fact she recommended a Italian restaurant that delivered to the hotel . And it was outstanding! I will definitely be back on my next business trip . Mike
We were in town for a wedding and were only there for two nights but we were very pleased with our roomy room and it was very clean as well. We called ahead to ask if we could check in early and they let us check in at 2. The staff was very nice and the hotel was quite.
We arrived here, only to show up at not just one but two other hotel properties next door. Hey, it was late and dark, and the drive had been long. When we got to this hotel, there was a tinge of regret, since Staybridge is wildly uneven across the land. But being here was our good fortune. This is not spanking new, but it's comfy, expertly maintained, and spacious. The staff has been highly accommodating, down to subtracting a table from a conference room and lending it to us so I could do some computer work. The breakfast and the evening "social" are above Staybridge standards. And there's a porte cochere with only minimal annoying music under which to load and unload. The shower is delightful, and the beds are solid and conducive to a good night's sleep. The location seems curious, though I haven't pinpointed it on a Research Triangle map. It seems closer to Chapel Hill than Durham -- which is good if you have a kid at the university. The nits: Typical Staybridge Brillo-pad-consistency towels. Good for a vigorous rub, though! Nothing but those annoying, three-wheel luggage-cart jobbies through which anything smaller than a breadbox falls immediately. And also what must be Staybridge-mandated pillows -- lots of them, all so packed with foam that you could knock someone over in a pillow fight. You'd best bring your own softies, as we do. All in all, though, good, guest-conscious work by all here.
After our first stay here, we booked return stays in Durham, with Staybridge. What more could we say than that. We liked it enough to book again, Their breakfast buffet is better than most, we understand on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday they also offer a free dinner buffet. The staff we friendly, the rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet.
This hotel is right next door to a few other quality places where I have housed friends and family visiting Durham. It is well located, has many nicely equipped suites and its prices are a bit lower than some of the other hotels nearby. They serve a basic hot breakfast and supper Monday -Wednesday. Because Durham is a great medical city, some people stay here for out-patient therapy. There is much to commend this place, but in the end, I found their service so dreadful, that I hope never to come here again. Here are my chief complaints: 1) While offering to help, they offered no real assistance when specifically asked. I asked them for restaurants that deliver to the hotel, they looked me straight in the eye and said: "We do not know." 2) The food service area is too small for the number of people that use it. As a consequence, people consistently found themselves bumping into each other. 3) I was there to care for my husband, who was bedridden, for the initial week. They provided no trays or containers or wrapping to bring food to him. When I improvised my own, they complained and told me to come at the end of the dining period and take what was left. 4) Housekeeping accidently collected a plastic canvas bag of personal items on the floor of the bathroom thinking it was trash. I discovered the error about an hour later and called the front desk. They never located the bag or apologized for the error. 5) They do not have sufficient handicapped parking spaces.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Although there was a few minor issue in the room with housekeeping once I brought it up to Emri Moore, she took care of it immediately. She is welcoming and a great host and assistant manager. The free food and drinks are a plus. I’ll stay there if I go back.
The staff were so friendly. The suite was immaculate with complementary popcorn coffee and other useful items such as paper towels with full kitchen. We used the pool which was excellent. On Mon - Wed nights they have complementary buffet dinners which are excellent (it was BBQ chicken and Salad on our night) complimentary wine as well - extremely generous. We would definitely stay here again:)
We cannot say enough good things about Staybridge, their staff, the room was great, food was good. We came as evacuees with our cats. We did not know from day to day when we could go home, they were terrific about that, Will stay there again and recommend to others.
Short stay while my house was being worked on. Room was a decent size and the half kitchen was sufficient to cook simple items. Even had a some recipes. Exercise room was it bit sparse. Good sized outdoor pool (though we did not use). OK room facilities. had golf channel on TV!
This is a good Staybridge in Chapel Hill with a good gym and a nice but small outdoor pool. The facilities are very clean with large suites and lots of shops and restaurants within a short walking distance. Breakfast is included, but one can't say much for the quality of the food, which is typical 'free' breakfast fare. I think it's rather quiet for the most part, but I has the misfortune of getting a room right across the hall from the housekeeping room/closet, the door of which was allowed to slam closed all day long as the housekeepers went in and out.
