Plaza Pelicanos Club Beach Resort All Inclusive

The strange thing, all inclusive yet you are limited to 2 bottles of water, if you want water you have to buy it...beds could be updated. No direct access to beach, this was disappointing.

From the moment we arrived until the day we departed, the staff at the resort never ceased to amaze me. They were all very pleasant and willing to help all the time.

Free wifi in lobby area very undependable, better wifi available throughout the hotel at US 10.00/day. Waiters all very nice, desk staff OK until checkout, then were unwilling to let me keep my wrist band until ground transportation at 4:00 PM. without which I would have had to do without food or drink for 5 hours. After much discussion and meetings they relented. They loved to keep moving mealtimes around, without notice. Buffett dinner was supposed to at 18:00, you show up and they are closed, they have moved it to outdoors to the pool area at the other property 300m away at 19:00

This is the second time I've spent a week at this resort and once again the employees were absolutely outstanding. It is a small hotel with a beautiful pool and right near the ocean. Food could definitely be better but everything makes up for this small detail.

Can't say enough nice things about the staff. The pictures and amentities are very misleading however. Food is very mediocre and the drinks are quite terrible. Many updates are needed. It's pretty much a free for all at the pool and buffet. Take advantage of the "special" dinners if you can (need reservations). There is a pharmacy on the corner that has everything you may need.

This would be a good place for younger travelors on Spring Break. The Inclusive is awesome. I had a room on the corner near the kitchen and by the pool, so it was noisy. The back window showed garbage area and poor lighting in the room. But it was cheap. No oders. I heard there are no elevators, so be prepared to climb stairs. I went on a Time Share meeting, and bought it at the hotel which is next door which is the Sunset. That is an awesome hotel. I got to stay at the Pelicanos Grand which is 2 hotels over. That one has an Infinity pool. Both Pelicanos hotels had swim up bars.

Puerto Vallarta is Mexico's gem. Three friends and I went for the first time for spring break and I was blown away. Puerto Vallarta is beautiful, exotic, safe, fun, and overall incredible. Our resort was all-inclusive so we definitely used it to its full advantage. Unlimited (delicious) breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Unlimited drinks. Swim up bar. Oh and did I mention this resort also has a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean and jungle covered Sierra Madre mountains? The resort staff were entertaining, nice, and incredibly helpful. They gave us advice on where to go for nightlife, restaurants, and must-see spots of Puerto Vallarta. We had the best time and plan to come here every year. I can't recommend it enough.

We checked in and went straight to eat, our kids were hungry. Food was NASTY!!!! Visited the pool, pool was dirty. Lots of particles floating. Went to the room to rest for the night, walls are very thin therefore we were able to hear everything. The next morning we checked out, they charged us a penalty fee for checking out early but at that point we were ok with it, we just wanted out! When we got back to the room after checking out we began to gather out luggage, no lore than 5 minutes after checking out the maids opened out door to clean. Very awful service. Very horrible service!!!! Would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

cheap hotel, good location but very very bad food...

Granted we booked last minute over spring break, but this place is definitely not worth the price we paid. The staff was less than helpful most times, don't bother going all inclusive because the food is terrible. The room is at least clean, but the bed has no blanket, one thin sheet and the lumpiest hardest pillow I have ever had the misfortune of coming across. The location is not ideal either. Stay far away. We ended up checking out after 2 nights and finding a new resort.

Fun beautiful atmosphere with friendly staff. Buffet food was ok. Dinner was much better. Worth the rate we got it for.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at this resort. Every staff member from the front desk at arrival to the bartenders, servers and cleaning ladies were very hospitable. We were able to relax in the sun, eat, drink and enjoy some relaxing time by ourselves. We took the bus downtown almost everyday to see some markets. I found that the best prices were on the Malecon (boardwalk). Get to know your prices on the boardwalk then you can go to the other markets (flea market) and find more variety. One store called Corazon Vallarta, had really neat things. I recommend you check it out. It was my husband`s first time in Mexico and he was surprised to hear mainly English music. He wanted to hear mariachis and Mexican music (I did too). We finally got to see a Mexican Fiesta at the Holiday Inn thanks to Mary Villafana. Wifi was expensive!!! We chose to get only 1 hour of wifi to talk to our family. If we needed to browse the internet it was cheap to go next door to Office Depot and do so. All in all, I would go back in a heartbeat. I`m planning to bring my whole family next time.

THE GOOD: VERY NICE PLACE, EXCELLENT LOCATION, VERY CLEAN, VERY COMFORTABLE, REALLY NICE STAFF, NICE POOL, BIG ROOM, GREAT MATTRESS. NOW THE BAD: VERY BAD DRINKS...CHEAPEST LIQUOR THAT THEY CAN FIND, ALL THE MIX DRINKS WERE TERRIBLE. I WOULD RATHER PAY MORE AND HAVE A BETTER QUALITY DRINKS. THE FOOD AT THE RESTAURANT WAS REALLY BAD AND THEY DON'T PUT MUCH AT ALL, THEY NEED TO ADD MORE VARIETY...NO MATTER IF THE NEED TO CHARGE A LITTLE BIT MORE.

If you are looking for an inexpensive all-inclusive this will do. If you're inclined to stay at 2 star properties you still might be disappointed with some aspects of the hotel. Water pressure on the third floor is awful, food is mediocre, little things like tiny paper napkins at meal time are slightly annoying. There is a night club a couple doors down that starts up the music around 11pm and goes until 4 or 5 am. It's loud!!! Makes a good night's sleep nearly impossible. The beach is okay. Small and crowded directly in front of the property. The best part of the hotel is the staff. Everyone is friendly, helpful and almost make up for the lack of amenities.
