The staff was wonderful. The facility would be rated a 1. No wow factor. It was like staying in an old house that had not had any improvements or updates. The painting/wall pictures in our room had evil/demonic themes images. We took down what we could reach and placed them leaning against the wall. A figure of the devil on the floor greeted us at the concierge area. There were no dressers with drawers so we couldnt unpack. No elevators. We were on the 4th floor. Would NEVER recommend it to anyone.

Our 5th time in Garlands del Rio in 2 years. They are just like our 2nd family in PV. Everything about this place and the staffs are wonderful.

Stayed in The Penthouse it was wonderful. Staff were great. Pastries included in the buffet breakfast were poor.

I reserved the hotel based on Orbitz score of 4.7/5.0....disappointed in Orbitz!!!

The bed was very comfortable and the staff was so friendly and funny. Wonderful experience.

This is the kind of hotel where you truly feel welcome and at home. Can’t wait to be back.

It's our 3rd stay in Garland del Rio in one year and we never get any disappointment with anything. We highly recommended this place.

Great location near restaurants, buses, and taxis. Peaceful location on the river. Go to playa los muertos rent chairs and enjoy!

Absolutely amazing experience at Garlands del Rio. Would strongly suggest staying here if you want an authentic, stay at home feel while traveling in Puerto Vallarta. The staff was amazing, the room was incredible, view was great. A very whimsical, quaint “hotel” in the heart of the beautiful city.

Excellent staff and service. Very pleasant experience and stay.

This was our first visit to PVR and we couldn't be more pleased with our choice of Garlands Del Rio. Downtown PVR has a european feel. Garlands is located right on the Rio de Cuale surrounded by great places to eat, drink and just sit. The hotel is very well run with a helpful staff. The breakfasts got us off to a good start each day and its great to have a quiet place to return to at the end of a day sitting on the beach. Highly recommended.

This hotel has photos taken probably 10 years ago or are photo shopped! It’s a very charming property but it’s seen better days. Worn linens , worn out furniture, leaking plumbing, and we had the suite! They also have a problem with sound, our room opened to the pool and guests are supposed to not use pool after 10pm or be VERY quiet. During our stay drunk guests were very loud until 1am. There is no one on property to go to so we had your talk to them ourselves. For the 3000+ dollars for a week it’s too expensive for what they are selling. Because of price I had expectations of something much better. The staff is amazing but their hands are tied as they can only do so much. The owner barely spoke to us. There are too many options to rent without staff in PV that are less and better, go there this isn’t worth it and it’s a shame.

We paid 3000$ Each for two rooms for the week between Christmas and New Years. We arrived to the hotel and it was in a neighborhood that is sketchy. The first thought was when we sat on the sofa to check in, it was bottomed out as it was so worn out. This didn’t stop in the rooms as the plumbing leaked the windows were rotten wood, chipped tiles and work out linens. The staff is fantastic as in most places in PV. We have rented condos before and had great stays. We travel in France and Italy often (6-8 x yr) and love le charme, this place is just a dump. I feel sorry for the people who work for them as they are all really nice. Also the rooms are like a funnel from exterior areas as any noise is amplified in to them. There are so many other options, skip this one.

The term boutique hotel evokes images of charm and uniqueness. Garlands del Rio has that in spades. But there is a trade off to bypassing more traditional accommodation for this hotel. The staff is limited, meaning there is no reception desk to turn to if you have an immediate need or concern. There is no elevator, meaning that many of the room are 3 or 4 floor walk ups. And in the particular room we stayed, the air conditioner was not working. The staff did what they could to alleviate the situation, but it meant sweating through 3 days and 2 nights of stifling heat and humidity. One of the biggest assets of this hotel is its location. The hotel is a stone's throw to the bars and restaurants in the romantic zone, and it's about a 10 minute walk to the malecon, which served our purposes. Because of its uniqueness and "boutiqueness," the place has the feel of a b&b, so if you like that kind of ambience and are willing to sacrifice some of the standard amenities of a more commercial establishment, Garlands del Rio is a good option for your stay in PV. If not, then keep looking.

This whimsical hotel located on the river in walking distance of the boardwalk, restaurants, and shops, is a set of buildings organized around a pool where everyone gathers, talks and shares a drink. The staff are warm and friendly. As a single person traveling I felt comfortable and included.

Mexico is a very diverse and colorful culture! You had joined us over day of the dead, we try and express the culture not repress it. We are a small Boutique property of converted historical properties we did not advertise elevators. The higher the floor the better the view. Thank you
