Stayed here for 7 nights while visiting Patong beach. From arrival things weren’t looking very positive, majority of the staff spoke very little English which meant we had to play charades with a lot of them. We arrived around 9.30pm so we were really looking forward to getting into bed. Much to our disappointment the bed was as hard as a rock, so hard that we began searching for different hotels to stay in because there is no way anyone could spend 7 nights in that bed. Thankfully the staff did provide an underlay which made a difference but I still wouldn’t say we were comfortable. The wifi connection in the room was horrendous. This may not bother some people but for the younger generation and business people it is a must have. We had to go into the lobby to use the lobby wifi if we needed the wifi for something important such as using google maps. The bathroom in our room began to reek of sewage during the night. This only happened for the last two nights but I would imagine it happens more often than not. There is also a lot of mould in the shower. Only positive on the room was it was spacious. The breakfast that was provided was subpar, there was never enough food ready there were always guests standing around waiting for something. This resort is located up a very steep hill; luckily for us we were capable of walking this hill. There is a shuttle bus that runs guests into town every hour and back again but you need to book. If you’re not looking to waste your day and would like to head out about 8-9am I would give this bus a miss as it is always full of Asian tour groups with their suit cases who have complete disregard for anyone but themselves. As mentioned above if you’re looking to have some peace and quiet while eating your breakfast or waiting in the lobby I would not stay here due to the amount of Asian tour groups. The staff have signs up to keep quiet which again is disregarded and the staff are too timid to enforce their own rules. Overall not what I would call a resort and I would not recommend anyone to stay here. I am only giving two stars due to being provided and underlay and the spacious room.
Resort - The staff here were lovely and always happy to help if they could. It was very quiet here no traffic noise No arrival drink or cool towel an arrival. Bring mozzie spray. The hill leading up to this resort is a problem. Taxi and Tuk Tuk want an extra 100 Baht (200 baht to the bottom of the hill or anywhere else nearby) to go up the hill even though it is only 200 maybe 300 metres. It is steep and you will not want to walk it, especially in the heat. Nearly everyone gets a lift if they can. A large portion of people staying at this resort were ill with Gastro including my husband and I. This may well have nothing to do with the Baan Yuree but the visiting doctor did mention that she seemed to be at this resort a lot lately. Could just be that it is the busy season. lack of communication from this resorts booking team - Even though the Baan Yuree is happy to receive business from other booking companies they are not happy to deliver the product or to contact you and let you know of changes or even get a confirmation from you the traveller. No activities at all at this resort. Put some music on at least for happy hour and plan some activities to have a reason to remain in the resort. Overall –reasonable budget accommodation Room - The pillows were great but the bed was way too hard and we like a firm mattress. The cleaner does a great job but the bathrooms have a lot of mould and the air conditioning vents are very dirty which meant that one of our rooms had a smell that went straight to the back of your nose. When we mentioned the smell to staff a room deodoriser was placed in the room which made little difference. The bathrooms need stripping and replacing urgently. Bring your own hairdryer – Barbie has a better hairdryer than this place. Ask for another room key to leave the air conditioning on There is no such thing as a garden view room in this resort even though they say there is. Our Garden View rooms overlooked a road and power lines, no garden view here. Good size balcony with table and chairs, can smoke on the balcony. Overall – Rooms need refurbishing. Restaurant - Tables are left set all day and night in this open restaurant which means that what ever is around is potentially crawling all over the cutlery. There is an air conditioner in the restaurant but they will not turn it on. This probably explains why everyone has room service instead of eating in the restaurant when it becomes available after breakfast. Please turn the air-conditioning on at Breakfast Baan Yuree, no-one wants to sweat during breakfast. My favourite room service meal was – tomato soup with croutons. Burgers were dry, chips were okay, mixed Thai Platter was good. Breakfast was average at best always having to ask for bacon (which they rarely had), no baked beans, grilled tomatoes occasionally, definitely not a full American breakfast. On offer every day was a curry, fried egg rice, clear soup, noodles and steamed rice eggs any way you like, pancakes and maple syrup. same fruit (watermelon and pineapple) and same juice (orange and pineapple) every day. Noodle dishes were also the same every day only difference being an alternation between egg noddles and glass noodles. The noodles and rice dishes need refreshing more often as they were dry and firm by 8.30 am. Overall not enough variety Pool – Yay there is a swim up bar There is no music at the pool bar, apparently it stopped working 3 months earlier. The pool is quite cold and not many people used it while we were there. The cocktails at the bar were good though not cheap but not expensive either by Australian standards. Overall - Put some music on, create some atmosphere
The staff at this hotel are very friendly and so helpful. I had a headache one morning and they had some painkillers for me. My first night I had limited hot water. Now I did not complain or even say anything but the next day they were very apologetic and offered my a traditional thai buffet dinner. Certainly was a pleasant and delicious surprise! The included breakfast was excellent. Hot food, cereal, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, juices. Very nice. The only negative is that wi fi reception on the 5th floor is pretty poor, which meant I did most of my internet work in the lobby. The free shuttle to patong mall is excellent as is the pick up. Very efficient and easy. Overall, ive enjoyed my stay and would happily stay again given the opportunity.
This resort grows on you over a couple of days. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. They even went to the trouble of organising a Christmas lunch in the dining room for us. Yes it is up a hill, but it is so quiet and easy to get into town if need be. This is the first resort we have been to that the kids want to come back too.
A big group of us stalled here with 5 kids of all different ages and the staff were unreal with them. its has great pools, room services and always clean. The Staff including the manager are the most friendliest people I have ever meet. The Resort is away from the noisy street of Patong this way you can relax and enjoy your time here. I will be staying here again and highly recommend to every one to book here. Also amazing price.
Love Phuket and love this hotel! The staff are so nice and friendly. I really like the location set back from the main street as it can be pretty noisy down there. The rooms are very airy, we stayed in a deluxe room with a pool view, lovely and clean. Soft pillows! I had a massage almost every day which were out of this world!! Would definitely visit again
This resort is a great place to stay, its quiet and away from the noise of the main streets but close enough to see everything in Patong. It is at the top of a very steep hill but the resort has a shuttle bus that will take you into the town (2 stops) at any time. This was awesome to have and was very convenient. Room was clean and spacious with fresh drinking water supplied every day Staff were amazing! Helpful and friendly, great cocktails at the pool bar! I did the cooking class with the resort chef which was fantastic. Food in the restaurant was delicious with a great choice for breakfast as well. Highly recommend this resort and will return in the near future
We recently just returned. Whilst initially we had trouble getting extra pillows, after a couple of days I really began to see how wonderful the resort is. Great wifi, clean rooms, friendly staff especially with our children, they we wonderful with them, even allowing my daughter to ‘work’ behind the desk. The pools are great and it was never a trouble to get the shuttle bus. I think if they just spend a ‘little money’ to update (paint, new cushions on lounge chairs, bottle openers in room) this could be a really top rated resort! If I had to say one thing there could be a bit more variety at breakfast and hot poached eggs! Other than that, I’d definitely return.
My sister and I recently spent 7 days at the Baan Yuree Resort we were waited on by professional staff that catered for our requests drove us everywhere as many times a day that we wanted our room was made to order . The staff in the restaurant we courteous and the food was great. The pool bar staff were just great drinks made to order. We have told all our friends about our stay at this resort and we have no hesitation re: our holiday.
We had stay for 3 weeks hear. The staffs were very helpful and friendly, we had also a really nice cleaning service lady. The room was very big massive of area for 2 persons. The breakfast was good. The hotel had shuttle bus service servers times round trip but we were rent a car so did not use their shuttle bus service. This hotel is located in very private area up a bit on hill but it has met ours expectations, since we had long stay and need private quiet after ours activities. If we would be back to Phuket Thailand again would consider to stay here again.
