I recently spent three nights at the Hotel Courcelles Etoile during a business trip to Paris; the hotel was selected by a colleague due to its proximity to our company's offices. I found my room to be quite small but standard in size by Parisian standards for hotels created from converted townhomes, so in a sense, it was really rather charming. The room was well-appointed, with a modern vibe and colors of deep maroon and a bit of gold, with small side armoires rather than a big closet. The most curious thing, however, was that my bathroom was almost as large as my room -- and with a huge Jacuzzi tub that unfortunately, only came equipped with a hand-held shower -- and no hook from which to suspend the showerhead from the wall, meaning that attempting to take a shower was a curious thing (I think I drenched the entire room as there was no curtain to contain the spraying water!) However, the water pressure and temperature were great, the bath products were lovely, and the bathroom itself was very clean, so I didn't mind too much. My room was on the third floor, overlooking the Rue de Courcelles, and it was really quite nice to hear the morning sounds of the city through the slats of the French blinds that provided privacy on the windows. I did not find the sounds at all bothersome. Help at the front desk was friendly and efficient, and breakfast in the small dining area was fine if a bit limited in options. I would recommend the Hotel Courcelles Etoile for its value and charm, my only caution being that as the rooms are small, it is best as an option for single travelers or couples who don't mind sharing very close quarters!! That being said, it makes for a very nice French experience!!
One of the most friendly reception ever in Paris, impressed!!! On the hand the room and the bathroom in mu room are extremely small even for a petit girl . The desk has space only for a lap top.. small one
The room was small but looked nice. The staff was friendly enough. Booked a room through hotels.com with a "city view," a was given a room that overlooked a window and nothing. The site also claimed an old price for a contracted rate for nearby parking, they no longer have that contract and the price was nearly double. The hotel was noisy, and I didn't know I have to ask for an actual shower. Something in the bathroom was leaking on the floor throughout a 3-night stay. The location and price of the room itself were good though. Overall it isn't the worst hotel I've stayed at, but I would probably not stay again. I feel like I was deceived by the photos and information posted about this hotel.
Stayed for 4 nights this week. Nice hotel - friendly and helpful staff. Ensuite bathroom quite compact but room was clean and well maintained. Good value for the location - Metro/RER just round the corner and plenty of local restaurants. Would definitely book again.
I had a one night stay at the Hotel Courcelles Etoile on business. The hotel enjoys a convenient location in a fairly central Paris location - Pereire Metro is literally next door, and you can walk with ease to the Champs Elysees. Upon arrival I was so pleased to find a warm welcome, and an attractive, if small (but no worse than other places in Paris) room. The décor was fresh and the room was clean. The room didn't have a proper shower you could stand under - looking at other comments it seems you need to request this when booking. However, there was hot water and I could make do. The major let down of this hotel was a constant vibrating noise coming from somewhere. It must have been structural, for when the bathroom door was closed in the frame it shook noisily. It was suggested that I wait half an hour and it would go - it did not. I had hoped to work in the next day, but my head was throbbing by that point. I expect noise in Paris hotels - they are compact, they often open onto busy streets - but this was beyond that. All things else considered, I'd certainly consider using this hotel again - the room was nice, staff so friendly, and the rate was excellent - but this disturbance would make me think twice.
The hotel staff is very friendly, service is neat and the location is great. Just walking distance to bars, and restaurants, and also taxis. The hotel has a nice breakfast, with great coffee! Location is great, walking distance to bars and restaurants, and a taxi point is on the side. Most imporant it was quiet!!
Lovely location of the hotel not that far away from l'Arc de Triomphe. Amazing service! Simply lovely employees and management. We were there because of work. My bf had the brekafast and I opted out. He said that the variety of food was good every morning. The room itself was little but functional. Great bathroom with a bathtub and lovely French shampoos. The view from the room wasn't that appealing - we were facing another building very close to ours. Wi-fi quality in the room was amazing and each of us got a customized password. The only real negative during our stay was the sudden visit of the cleaning lady one of the days at about 1PM. It was strange it happened, because I have had placed the sign - Do not disturb at the door. Apart from this little accident, the rest of our experience was amazing and I would definitely recommend the hotel. The manager does have a full control over the management of the hotel and he is very experienced in customer service - I have been helped by him the day I was supposed to check-out. He was super attentive to me and my needs.
I really can recommend this hotel! The room was clean and quiet. Also the size of the room was very pleasant-I have been in much smaller ones in Paris!!! The bed is comfortable and I woke up without any problems in my back!!! The stuff is very friendly and helpful! They speak different languages and you can still leave your luggage after check out, too. Wifi is free and works fine everywhere. A Metro/RER and Bus station is almost in front of the hotel! Also Cafés and a Supermarkt are in front or just around the corner of the hotel. Walking distance 1 minute! I will love to come back and stay in this hotel! Thank you!
Our stay at Hotel Courcelles Etoile was great! We stayed four nights and had a quiet room on the second floor in the back. Small but comfy and location was super convenient. Steps to bus, metro or train and within walking distance to the Arc Du Triumphe! Near cafes, bakery and delicious chocolate shop! Christina and Eric were really helpful and all the staff welcomed us and seemed happy to guide us with our first trip to Paris. Thank you!
This hotel was very chic and nice, right beside the metro and rlr stations... Perfect for 5 days in Paris... The room was of good size for Europe and had an excellent soaker tub in the bathroom... A great cafe is right beside the hotel and is open late... We sat there every night having wine and snacks after sight seeing all day... The staff at the hotel were all very friendly...The location is easy and accessible to the whole city... Stay here... You will like it.
