Hotel Opera Marigny4.0 out of 5.0

I'll start with the positive experiences, staff were friendly, helpful and spoke very good English (which helps as my French is at school boy level). We stayed 4 nights in room 502 which was cleaned every day, with fresh towels and effective air-conditioning. The location of the hotel is very good, with plenty of restaurant options nearby. Unless breakfast is included in your room rate, I wouldn't pay extra for it. It was equivalent to breakfast at a Holiday Inn Express, with limited options. Also no breakfast tea was available, just fruit, herbal and green tea options, The tea and coffee was not replaced in our room, so we had to buy some. The mini bar fridge didn't chill very well, but we used it to keep things cool (rather than cold). There were roadworks outside the hotel, as there is in many parts of Paris, but the noise was acceptable - with the double glazed windows closed. Overall this hotel was adequate and in a good location, but we were expecting a higher standard for what we paid. I'm not sure why this hotel has a four star rating, it is closer to a three star establishment in my view.
This hotel is well located within the centre of Paris and walking distance to most attractions. The Reception is a small desk located at the other end of the lobby, you walk past the restaurant area on the left as you approach the reception area. The check-in is quite basic but quick, no information is offered about the hotel or local area. The Rooms are quite nice, a king bed but they are old, the beds are well warn, so ensure you check the mattress as it could be lumpy or sagging. The bathrooms are quite nice and modern. Bedding and linen was comfortable and free Wifi at a good speed. The tea cups are not washed upon service during my stay. Breakfast is all you can eat and can be included if you book it, for coffee, just ask the staff after giving them your room number. The hotel dose not offer laundry services on the weekend - these are expensive, so normal for hotel pricing, best if you find a local shop, maybe reception could help.... There are restaurants located around the hotel for dining options.
Fantastic stay, location is excellent, in walking distance of everything. The morning breakfast sets you up for the day. The staff were very friendly, Mud (that is her name) at the front desk was most helpful and very good at her job
I wanted to write and review the Hotel Opera Marigny. This is a wonderful hotel and I cannot say enough positive things about it. My husband and I stayed for eight nights and found the entire experience awesome. The staff is professional, kind, courteous, and speaks English very well. The hotel is centrally located to the metro stations and is within walking distance of many of the attractions and cafes. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone that likes quaint and charming places with a European flavor.
The room was smaller than expected but it was very clean, well kept. The bathroom was very clean and had awesome toiletries. It's located in a great spot - we were able to walk to several landmarks, most importantly, the Big Bus stop. The complimentary breakfast was so good. Finally, the staff could not have been nicer - more helpful. They were fantastic. As an example - we had to check out by 11 but our Eurostar back to London did not leave until 8. The hotel was cool with us leaving our luggage there all day, so we could use the last day of our 2-day Big Bus pass. We would definitely go back the next time we are in Paris!!
The 'normal' rooms are quite small - but everything is very well kept - and the hotel and rooms are absolutely tidy and clean. Staff is welcoming, helpful and very friendly. Breakfast is not the most exciting we have seen - but for Paris it is very fine and definitely worth the charge. We would go there again.
Stayed here for a few nights in April. The room was very clean and tidy. The room and bathroom were small, but standard for Paris. The hotel is a couple of minutes walk from Madeline metro station and sights such as the Louvre and Royal Opera are all within walking distance.
We, 2 best friends, loved our 2 nights in this lovely boutique hotel. Right in the heart of the more exclusive end of central Paris and off the main roads. We walked to all the main attractions and felt really safe even late at night. The staff were lovely and friendly. Yes the rooms are small, but are perfectly formed and really, that's just normal for central Paris! The beds are amazingly comfortable, the bathroom had a lovely shower and most importantly, it's really clean. We didn't eat breakfast, so can't comment. Negative reviews had us slightly concerned but we found nothing to support them! Absolutely wonderful weekend in Paris!!!
We had the pleasure of staying in this lovely hotel, a stone's throw away from the metro and in a surprisingly quiet area of the city. The staff were very welcoming, spoke good English and were always on hand to help. We'd have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
The hotel was in a fantastic location, just a 2 minute walk from the Madeliene Cathedral and metro - a 10 minute journey to the Eiffel. The hotel staff were amazing - extremely accommodating and friendly. Will defo recommend this hotel and head back on my next trip!
