The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Very quiet area despite being close to a bus stop, laundry facility and swimming pool. We have stayed here five times so far and it never disappoints. Will definitely book the cabins again in the future.

We enjoyed the genuine camping feeling that we felt being at Fort Wilderness.

Spacious, clean. Kids had a great time. I will definitely go back again.

Fort Wilderness is an awesome resort with wonderful Disney world history & great accommodations. Consider renting a golf cart (once at the resort it is a separate fee) because it is totally worth the money, to be able to get around the resort grounds. The cabins are very nice & very well maintained. Thank you orbitz for offering a great resort at an affordable price, that would be out of the affordable range if booked through the Disney website, even for a Florida resident.

We were able to check in early and enjoy the resort property before heading to the parks. The check in was quick and easy and they even gave us mosquito wipes in the cabin to prevent bites at night... We had an amazing stay!

Always and excellent choice for a little more room for the family!

Beautiful setting. Very helpful staff. Would recommend this to anyone who wants a great vacation.

Excellent experience. So much to do around the resort. Safe and clean. Loved the Halloween decorations. Cannot wait to go back.

Great resort and a little bit of savings booking via Orbitz.

everything was great,we have stayed here before and it is always top notch!!

loved the experience! There is quite a bit of walking required when staying here. This is good if you love the outdoors. The ferry to the Magic Kingdom is nice! Even though the resort is close to the park, keep in mind to take the ferry you need to take an enterior bus from your cabin to the ferry, & then the ferry to the Magic Kingdom, so there is still some transportation wait times.

We stay at the cabins each time we visit. The cabins have been refurbished with new appliances, cabinets, large screen TV, etc. since our last visit. We also choose the 2500 circle of cabins. It's located next to one of the swimming pools and to a laundry pavilion. The mid number cabins (2510-2520) are my preference. These are farther back on the circle from the bus stop so you do not hear the bus activity (air brakes hissing, beeping when lowering the ramps, etc.) The area is also nicely wooded. After a full day at the parks, it's refreshing to come back to the cabin, where all you hear are crickets and frogs chirping with few people. If you like being in a country setting, this is the place for you.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Fort Wilderness Cabins! If you go I highly recommend getting a golf cart. My kids LOVED riding in the golf cart. You can get one at Fort Wilderness OR make arrangements to pick one up off the resort. Everything was great and we are already talking about our next visit.

We arrived at 5:30p and was told our room was not ready.Check in process took almost 30 minutes.Magical express did not deliver our luggage until 12 midnight.Staff throughout the resort were not as friendly as other resorts we have stayed at.Not one said hi or welcome. Its a very large resort so make sure you either rent a golf cart or a rental car.Nobody tells you how to use the internal bus system so be prepared to learn on your own.

Great family setting close to Magic Kingdom. Busing and transportation was easy to use.

We were very pleased with the Ft. Wilderness Cabins. The staff was friendly, the facilities were clean and spacious. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful. We rented golf carts for the duration of our stay and would highly recommend others do the same. Cars are not allowed to park to board park transportation, so walking or internal campground bus are your only other options. Even with the carts, we found getting to the theme parks time-consuming. The transportation to the parks does not start early enough to arrive for opening. Quick service food options are minimal, so do not get a dining plan. The pool was fine and has a nice water play area, but we were disappointed in the quality and quantity of playgrounds. There is no longer a petting zoo.

We have annual passes for Disney, so don't stay on property all the time, as Disney hotels are very pricey compared to off sight condos (we travel with three adults and three kids). We chose the cabins for our son's birthday, to get the full Disney experience with boat transportation to the parks and extra magic hours. The cabins were OK. They bare aged trailers covered in wood paneling to appear as a log cabin. The food had a little slant, and the overall space was a bit cramped, but was clean. Then staff was very friendly and helpful. You either have to rent a golf cart or take the bus if youbwamt to go anywhere on property (boats, pool, restaurant, etc.

Our cabin location was perfect-close to bus stop & pool (cabin loop 2600). Only negative was could not control air conditioner temp & it got too cold. Housekeeping staff excellent.

Travelled with my wife, son (9) and his best friend (8). More than enough room. More than adequate bedding. Fridge and stove save money on meals. Rented a golf cart, recommend but understand the added expense. Will be back within 2 years.

Stay was great. With 3 teenage boys the extra space is great. The full kitchen is great for a few easy meals. If you drive to the parks your car is right outside the door. If you take Disney transportation to and from parks it might take a little extra time than other resorts due to 1 transportation changes.
