The hotel charged me as prepayment when I book the hotel. However, when I arrive at the hotel, the staff told me I was not paid and asked me to pay them again. Later I checked the credit card statement that there was indeed a payment charged by the hotel and I showed the evidence to the staff. Their explanation is the night staff charged me. I'm wondering why they don't have the record in their system. If I didn't check the credit card statement, they would charge me twice! The staff is not helpful at all. I could not open the door and went to the reception for help. The guy said there should not be any problem with the key, everyone can open the door. He had no any intention to go and help me with it. I had to go back and try again and again. Finally I found there is some problem with the door, I had to kick on the door to open it. When we got into the room, there was a strange beep in the room and found the smoke detector was keep beeping. I had to go to the reception again. However, there is no one in the reception anymore. The time was around 20:40. I tried to call the hotel and the phone in the empty reception rang. We suffered from the noise for quite a long time and luckily the reception staff came to our room and asked what is the problem. Then he took down the detector and removed the battery. The facility in the room is worn-out. The wi-fi doesn't work at all.

We stayed at the Rainbow Inn for the Labour Day long weekend. It was a last minute trip - decided on Wednesday to leave Saturday. After looking through a bunch of hotel sites, we decided to stay here. Was concerned having read many other reviews that were negative. We stayed here because it was the cheapest we could find. A long weekend at the falls had a high price tag of about $184 a night. A stiff price for a motel that, during off season probably goes for $50. With that said, everything else i could find was $200-$500 per night for the weekend. I travel often. Am concerned about cleanliness. If I have this concern before going somewhere, I bring my own sheets. I brought my own to the Rainbow Inn, but it was clean enough they weren't needed. With that said, I still used one to cover the top blanket so there was no need to touch it, but could still use it. I know these blankets don't get washed often - at any hotel. Anyway. The room was clean. The floor was laminate. Bed comfortable. The guy at check in was helpful to tell us about the city / was available to answer questions. Upon checkout (11 AM), we left our bags at the front so we could spend our day at the Falls. (We took a train/didn't have a car). We felt safe with leaving our bags at the front. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't the greatest, so I didn't get to use the pool, but it looked refreshing. Yes, it's beside a Tim Hortons, but I knew that going in and have no issue with this. Location was good. Short walk to the Casino. 10-minute walk to the falls. About 20-25 to Clifton hill. Anyway... after reading all the negative reviews, I did want to put a positive one. But, know that you are staying at a motel, not a 5-star hotel. I'd stay again.

Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs! Smell of marijuana in first room on top of it being broken and EXTREMELY dirty. The mirror was just on the floor leaned against the stained wall, stains on the curtains and bedding, slimy bathtub, non working heat. Second room: stains, broken outlet, fixtures missing bulbs, water would sporadically come out scalding hot, cogarette butts, dog food behind the doors, towel Rack hanging out of the wall, spider / cob webs everywhere. The staff was EXTREMELY rude and said "what do you expect at a 2 star hotel", we paid our first night to just WALK OUT and NOT have to stay. Paid a little more to stay at the motel 6 down the road which was great. Please see attached pictures.

Relatively clean accommodation but the reception was smelly and piled up with junk. Very very outdated. Only a short walk to the falls but a steep uphill climb on the way back so not suitable for elderly it disabled. Not recommended

I am sorry as I don't like to write a bad review. I wish I had read some before we went. We checked in (office has a fousty smell), then went to our rooms. Ours wasn't as bad as the other room we rented. My husband refused to sleep there and the other couple said no way. Parts of the rooms are updated. Very nice Jacuzzi. But the room had a bad smell and everything is very outdated. Smell may be mold? We requested a refund and left. Staff was very polite about it.

This place needs a good cleaning and a visit from the health board as its not fit to have anyone stay at it unless you have no standards at all and your not planning on getting any sleep and partying. This motor inn is disgusting and not even worth paying $30 a night and the parking is a joke as they save no spots for paying guests so if you drive then advoid this place. If you stay here against reading the reviews then your taking your own risks because you would be an idiot to stay here and waste your money.

The location is great. We selected this property to stay at over the weekend of June 23 because they are one of the few hotels that accept pets. We cannot kennel our dog or have him stay with anyone due to major separation anxiety. First of all, a warning to anyone booking. If you plan to drive around during the day, don't expect to come back at 7 or 8 o'clock at night and expect to find a parking spot. They also offer all day parking to the general public and do not reserve enough parking spaces for those who are overnight guests. That's right! Your room is supposed to come with guaranteed parking but it doesn't. Now let's get to the rooms themselves. Basically clean, but watch out for those towels. One of ours was quite clearly used and hanging on the rack. I think if you use it and hang it back up on the rack, housekeeping assumes it is still clean. I almost puked once I realized I dried myself with a towel that someone else had used and had to reshower. The sheets were in rather ratty shape, too. They say they supply toiletries, what there version of toiletries means is hand soap and hand sanitizer, no shampoo, conditioner etc. which is fine by me because I always bring my own, but not everyone does. There is no access to Wifi and not even an ice machine onsite and it seems like a popular party place for young adults on the weekends. Overall, I'd give this place a 3 out of 10. I know we won't be staying there ever again. Overpriced and overall raunchy.

We unfortunately stayed at this motel September 18 2016. The first thing I noticed was the stale odour in the office. I thought to myself this is not a good sign. Sure enough the room was smelling. Carpets had several stains, chairs had holes in them, shower was unusable, and the worst issue was a sticky bathroom floor. Who nows what caused this. Yuck. Fortunately we are only 90 minutes from home so a clean shower was not far away. I spoke with several of my fellow getto dwellers and heard words like disgusting, dump, worst place I've stayed in. This place could be good basic accommodation with very little effort. Guys use some cleaning supplies and bring in a garbage dumpster and clean up the skids and clutter under the stairs and around the outside. There is a positive! You can walk to the falls and Tim Hortons is just next door. If you are desperate for a room. Sleep in your car!!!

This place sucks! Rooms filthy, run down. They gave us a room that reeked of smoke. We found a huge horse pill on the bedside table. Cigarette butts stuffed don the side of the bed. Obviously the room was not cleaned from last renter. They gAve us a different room. A bit better, but still crap. Bath tub was not working, light bulbs were blown, the place needs to be condemned

This place is a total dump. We got the queen room with whirlpool heart tub which I paid extra for. The tub did not work and the hot water handle was not even hooked on. There is no coffee maker or microwave and the tv was a worn out 19" model like most people have thrown away by now. No clock or phone in the room so on top of having no idea what time is was we couldn't even get a wake up call. The room smelled very bad when we arrived and there were lots of flies of some sort flying all around. The front desk didn't want to take my American Express that I used when I booked the room through Trivago and booking.com. Once I convinced the man that I didn't have anything else he did take it because he had no choice. Once we saw the room we set out to find someplace else close to the falls but everything was booked at that point so we had no other choice except to stay there or go back home to Ohio so we stayed two nights. This place is not good as well as being way over priced. It's a waste of money and pretty much ruined our whole trip. When I tried to complain all I got was "well that's all we have" and no offer at all for a partial refund. I am filing a dispute with my credit card because the tub did not work and I paid extra just to get it.
