I had a terrible stay at Niagara Lodge and Suites. The front desk staff were unfriendly and offered no greeting or assistance. Our Family Suite had a strong, unpleasant odor, with old, musty blankets and bedsheets that looked unchanged for days. One sheet was ripped and another had cigarette burns, despite being a non-smoking room. Curtains were torn, windows dirty, and the bathroom had dust and grime in the corners.
The worst part was discovering bed bugs in the beds and couch. Both my husband and I developed severe itching and hives; I have photos as proof. This was especially distressing as we were traveling with our one-month-old baby. We also saw a large rat running in the parking lot, adding to our safety concerns.
On the second day and night, hot water stopped. The staff member who checked the issue said he cant do anything and refused to move us to a different room with hot water. With kids we needed hot water during cold weather.
This stay caused extreme discomfort and stress. I only stayed because it was too late to cancel and no other rooms were available nearby. I am requesting a full refund for the poor hygiene, bed bug bites, and lack of basic amenities. I have pictures of the ripped curtains, cigarette burns, and rashes as evidence. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I urge Expedia to investigate and take action to prevent others from facing the same.
