The Marigny district, also known as Faubourg Marigny, is a unique and bustling riverside neighborhood next to the French Quarter. Saturated with Creole history and known for world-famous jazz and funk music clubs, the Marigny is quintessentially New Orleans. A popular spot for chefs, you’ll find the trendiest restaurants with fresh takes on local cuisine.
Being on Frenchmen Street, you will have access to daily live jazz and blues performances, restaurants & attractions just a few minutes from the house. The major benefit is that Frenchie is close to lively areas, but also a place where you can retreat home for a peaceful sleep since we are in the residential area.
With a history of 300 years New Orleans is known for preserving the past as much as possible and that shows throughout this neighborhood where many of the homes have been newly renovated or are in the process of being renovated to maintain their unique `shotgun` style and look. To a visitor the bright colors used might seem odd but the variety of colors and mismatched housing styles tend to add to the charm of the neighborhood.
Unlike many cities it is very normal here to say hello and talk to people as they walk by on the sidewalk and streets! Southern hospitality is alive and strong! So, don’t be shy and you will feel like a true local when visiting.
Parking on the street is available but renting a car is not necessary for your visit. Uber and Lyft are both available through out the city and the property is only a block away from the new up and running Rampart Streetcar Line!
Driving We are just a 5 minute drive to the French Quarter. Just 8 minutes from Downtown! Uber/Lyft will cost $5!
Street parking cannot be guaranteed and when utilizing street parking please make sure to adhere by city and state laws.
*Our space is not handicapped accessible or ADA compliant* *You will have to climb stairs to reach the unit. 1. *We are legally limited to the posted maximum occupancy by local law. Additional guests occupying the space will be charged $100 per person per night.*
2. Quiet hours 10PM - 7AM. Please remain cognizant and respectful of our neighbors.
3. While early check-in / late checkout may be available, this must be arranged ahead of time. Unauthorized Late checkouts are a $100 charge for each hour after 11am - a 15 minute grace period is given and our cleaners have the right to enter the property and begin cleaning if they arrive and you are still present. If you are not at the property, our cleaners will set your items outside for you to collect. If the space you’re renting is for multiple units, the fee will be $100/hour per unit.
4. Smoking in the unit will result in a $500 Deodorization Fee.
5. Unregistered guests and parties are prohibited by local laws and ILLEGAL. Our occupancy limits are set by local ordinance. Any guest found to have had a party will be charged a $1,500 fee for non-compliance with local laws.
Exterior cameras with active recording is present at the property to verify these laws/house rules are not broken.
6. Please do not hang or attach anything to the walls with push pins, tape, etc. or other painted surfaces.
7. Please use our black makeup towels to remove makeup to avoid damaging white linens/towels.
8. If the space is left excessively dirty $50 will be charged for each additional hour of cleaning required. Removal of bodily fluids will result in a charge of $150. Glitter cleanup will result in a charge of $100.
9. While pets are allowed at this listing they are limited to 1 pet under 35lbs unless authorized prior to booking. Pets must be kenneled when left alone but should not disturb neighbors. Guests must clean up after pets outside. Pets should not be allowed on beds or furniture.
10. While we cannot receive any mail or packages to the space we will assist with getting packages shipped to New Orleans if needed.
11. Please do not ship packages to yourself as we are not held responsible for them. We will not be responsible for them in the event they get lost, and will not be responsible for returning them if they are found after your departure.
12. Pack n` Plays and high chairs are available in the master bedroom closet.
13. There is a 500$ minimum fee for commercial photography and filming on the property. **All charges are the actual cost, including labor, to remedy each issue.**
14. The outdoor wooden/Adirondack chairs by the firepit has a MAX weight limit of 220 lbs. PLEASE do not sit on it if you exceed that weight, it will break.

Everything was incredible. A unique duplex for New Orleans to find something that offers a little bit of everything: close proximity to food and dining while still being somewhat tucked away and quiet; in the mix of the city while still offering a private space outback to enjoy some sunshine or a fire. No issues with parking and the house itself is perfectly redone and beautifully designed. The host was also wonderful. Before we even left we said we could absolutely rent again.
Everything about this place was amazing! I am so happy I got to spend time here. When I say, I could live in this place I mean it! Appointed so very well, great location, the back yard is such a bonus!

Good choice of property
This property looked as good in reality as in the photos. Perfect place for 3 or 4 persons, having two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house is well equipped and furnished. There's outside space at the rear too for enjoying the evening warmth. It's convenient for grocery shopping and streetcar transport. The only negative for us was trying to gain entry when we arrived. We couldn't get the passcode for the front door to work and had to contact the host several times before it worked. Overall however staying there was an enjoyable experience. Thank you for letting us stay in your house.

Perfect stay for Jazzfest
Our host was excellent and very responsive. The house is very clean and comfortable, beautifully appointed. Our host thought of everything. We had 2 couples and the house worked out extremely well. The location is walking distance to the entertainment on Frenchman St and just a short taxi to the Jazz Fest fairgrounds. We’ll be back next year!

The reviews gave me a heads up on the neighborhood but, the neighbors were really nice and looked out for each other. We felt safe and it was walking distance to must things or a short and cheap Uber ride. The house was really clean, questions were answered quickly and the decor was nice. Only thing i would say needed is more dishes, cookware and coffee mugs. I definitely would stay here again.

Never able to access property; poor host communication and assistance.
Stayed locked outside property for 2 hours in summer heat from 7pm to 9pm. Not able to reach owner/host easily. Had to reach out to realtor to ask to reach owner/host. Vrbo also not able to reach owner/host. Owner/host never called just sent vague text messages; I was never given proper code or instructions to access property although I, did my part, to kept lines of communication open as I drove 8 hours to New Orleans. I had to coordinate last minute lodging at hotel; this was hundreds of additional dollars that I had to pay due to this owners/host lack of communication and assistance. On a positive note, I still managed to have a wonder time in New Orleans. I will definitely visit the city again.

Clean and comfortable property
This house was clean and comfortable for our group. We enjoyed hanging out on the front porch and speaking with friendly neighbors. The back yard also had a nice patio. The location was a nice walk to Frenchman St. and the French Quarter. At night walking back, there was a bar down 2 blocks that would have large groups of people that made us a bit uncomfortable. However, walking back one block over solved that problem.

Clean, quiet and comfortable
We were a little concerned at first about the neighborhood as it seemed a bit rough, but it was completely safe and we never felt uncomfortable walking around. In fact, it is quite convenient to the cafes and jazz bars on Frenchmen St. and walking distance to the French quarter. There was always parking available in front, so we didn’t worry about our rental car.
The house is lovely, clean and comfortable, and has all the amenities we needed for our stay. We enjoyed people watching with morning coffee on the front porch, and the back deck for a glass of wine in the shade later in the day. Thanks so much, we loved our visit and the New Orleans vibe — will definitely be back!

Upon arrival, I was not too sure about the house because of the location and it’s surrounding areas. Looking from the outside, it’s probably the best looking house in the area. I was skeptical at first because it felt like I was in the hood but after entering the home, it was very nice as advertised. Immediately, my outlook on the house changed from uncertain to fantastic. It was a very clean, tidy, and lovely house equipped with everything you need with a fantastic old charm to it. Night time was quiet and I had no problem with the neighbors. I had no problem with parking. I always had parking spot in front of the house no matter the time. Overall, I had a great experience with this cozy home in the marigny. Will definitely book this house again next time I come to New Orleans.

Very comfortable, classy, newly renovated condo near live music on Frenchmen's
If you are traveling to NOLA for the live R & B, jazz and other music, this is the place for you! 1.5 blocks north of St-Claude in a poorer neighborhood, but safe walk at night. Guide books all say not to venture north of Rampart/St-Claude, but don't worry. It's safe to walk back to the condo after an evening out in Frenchmen's live music venues. The beds and linen are comfy, the washrooms renovated and well stocked with fancy products and towels. It's a quiet neighborhood and we enjoyed sitting on the back deck, taking in the morning sun or having a late afternoon nap. It looks just like the pictures. The couch and chair in the living room were also comfy for an afternoon nap on the one cold day. The host was prompt to respond to questions and send off the beaten path coffee shops and restaurants suggestions. I highly recommend this rental and the host. Would come back anytime!
