This is a lovely hotel in a large property, built in the 1830s. It is iconic French Quarter architecture and a truly lovely place! The rooms are small, as the property is old, but everything is clean and nicely done. The staff are wonderfully nice and will help you with anything you request, from tips on where to eat and drink to whatever else you might need during your stay. The location is fantastic, just a couple blocks from Bourbon Street. Just about everything you might want to do in New Orleans is within walking distance!

Pros: Within -- but near the edge -- of the French Quarter, this hotel has a good location. It's close enough to provide quick access to the craziness of Bourbon St., but far enough away that you don't hear the noise. It's also half a block from the Rampart streetcar, which is convenient if you like to use public transportation (it has an easy connection to the Airport Express bus downtown). As the title states, it's got a quaint NOLA charm. The staff is friendly, and check-in/out was easy. Access from the street is restricted to room card holders only, so you don't get people randomly wandering in. Beds were nice and comfortable. Cons: Interior room was a bit too dark for my tastes, with no windows. Bathroom was very small -- not adequate for multiple people to get ready for a night out -- and a room for 4 paradoxically came with only enough towels and toiletries for 2. Room door didn't fit properly in its frame, so you could see through to the hallway. (Didn't affect privacy, but annoying because you could hear hall noise more clearly.) Room wasn't cleaned very thoroughly prior to arrival -- I found a hairpin in plain sight on the floor and saw some trash that had fallen behind a dresser. But then, housekeeping was overly aggressive -- they decided that my NOLA bar souvenir cups and an almost full bottled water were trash and tossed them. I wouldn't rule out this hotel for another stay at the right price, but it probably wouldn't top my list, either.

Nice and clean. Super friendly staff. Close proximity to all things in the French Quarter. Public parking is the only option at $50 a day and I would recommend them adding a small fridge in the room for convenience. Otherwise the room was perfect with old world style and beauty.

My husband and I stayed across the street at St. Ann's with a beautiful courtyard to walk out on to and begin the day with a relaxing cup of tea and coffee. The cleaning service was excellent! The staff are so friendly. We never wanted for anything. If we needed a letter to be mailed, it was done. If we needed directions, they were given. If we wanted suggestions on sites to visit the staff knew where to send us. Our tickets needed to be printed, they did it. The rooms were quiet. The towels were plenty. The atmosphere was that of historic proportions just as the hotel was advertised.

We enjoyed staying in this older hotel on the edge of the French Quarter. It was close enough to easily walk to any French Quarter destination, but far enough from the party areas.

Close to the French quarters without being too close. You can walk everywhere. The hotel is charming and clean. The gardens are very pretty.

Will ask for a room with a balcony next visit. Interior room a little warmer than liking.

Lovely building, nicely updated. Inn is convenient to everything from Mr. Gregory's and Pat Obriens to Jackson Square and The Spotted Cat. Staff is wonderful. Cannot go wrong booking your stay here.

Nice little inn just a couple blocks from Bourbon St. Small grocery mart and great restaurants nearby. Very clean with a friendly staff.

Great location. Walkable to all parts of the French Quarter. Clean, neat, and efficient rooms. No amenities.

Within walking distance to lots of places. Lots of construction going on in area

Great location and staff, but it is a nearly 200 year old building, so don't think it's the Ritz. Our room didn't have a window...

These staff was very helpful. Claude was awsome. The upstairs rooms were very tiny. The downstairs rooms larger. The city rips you off $40 a night for parking and you can expect to walk a fair distance. I loved the location and would stay again.

The hotel is in a great location and more than adequate for our needs. Parking is an issue however if you have a car. Rooms are small and quirky but clean and comfortable. Anyway, you're in the most unique city in the country get out of the room!! I would stay here again.

The hotel was nice. The bed was comfortable, room had everything you'd expect. It's a little confusing when you first check in, because this is one of a few hotels that French Quarter Guest Houses uses. So you check in in one building, and they tell you which building you're staying in. They also offer parking. The parking was a little bit of a walk and honestly, at first, I was worried about the safety of the location. But we parked out vehicle and explored the french quarter and came back to our vehicle, safe and sound. Will definitely stay again on next visit. There were lots of insects out and about -- but I think it was just cause it was the middle of summer and to be expected. Didn't really bother us.

It was an amazing hotel! The staff was courteous, the hotel was very chic. It was located near everything so it was a quick walk around the town. I would definitely recommend to stay here again to anyone!

Great location. Very Quiet. Helpful Staff. Affordable rates.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, modern bathroom but very small. Had the king deluxe room which was also on the small side.

Nothing to steer us away from this hotel in the future, but nothing to really bring us back either. Location was pretty good, and old-world décor was beautiful. Not a whole lot of sound insulation, but only so much you can do with old buildings. Would certainly recommend but not particularly enthusiastically.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends. The older gentleman running the front desk was very friendly and helpful. There is water, coffee, and fruit available near the entrance. The room and bed were small--bed was only a full size. The bathroom was bright and clean. The hotel was close enough to stroll over to Bourbon street for some late night partying but far enough to be away from the chaos. I have a new found love for New Orleans and will be back within the next few years.
