I got to say this was an okay stay and the staff was friendly and attentive and accommodating. The shuttle transported you within 3 miles of the hotel but you will need a car. I do however think there needs to be a manager on duty for the two main shifts. That being said I think the staff was empowered to do what they needed to do to handle any problems.
The facility is new and looks nice. Front desk (Devona and her Assist Mngr) were rude and unprofessional. DONT WANT TO WORK? Give someone else a chance. POOL was nothing like the pictures online and it was closed with all the lights off. We went to the Front desk to inquire about the pool and the two employees ignored us. When they finally acknowledged us it was with a lazy and nasty attitude. Floors smelled terrible since they were mopping with dirty water. Breakfast was cold.
I stayed for one night pre-flight out of MSY. Upon arrival cleaning was still happening. When I arrived on my floor the hallway was blocked by the cleaning cart and trash and laundry was found all the way down the hall. See attached photos. I asked if I could get by the cleaning person and she gave me a look. She did not look very happy and that I was inconveniencing her by asking to get by. Upon entering room it appeared clean until I looked closer. There was hair in the bed and spots on the sheets. I removed the sheets from the bed. The shower was also dirty. There was a loud noise until about midnight that was hard to fall asleep to. I did keep the tv on to try to drowned it out. Sounded like a plane crashing through the wall. On the positive - The bed was extremely comfortable. I did get a ride to and from the airport. I had a day trip out and returned that evening. The shuttle driver was great on the way there. My return was very slow. I was told 15 - 20 minutes wait. I waited curbside at the airport for 45 minutes for my ride. Since I had a 2-1/2 hour drive ahead of me that night, I would have liked a faster pick up. Next time I will pay for parking at the airport as my travel day was over 20 hours that day. I did not stay for breakfast as my flight out was early. I will not be staying here again. It is more restful at the other chain.
Stay here for one night and this looks like a new hotel to me. Rooms are spacious and bed was super soft! Bathroom are big too The do have shuttles to airport every half hour. One restaurant on the hotel. Breakfast are ok
The manager and more specifically the security guard should be fired! The hotel is awesome and the owners should be proud! But their decision to hire these yahoos leads me to believe this hotel will go down fast! Must have poor leadership at the top!
No problem with the hotel, location or room, but the staff were horrible. I requested a crib when I made the reservation (directly on their website). I clearly indicated the age of our child (3). Of course when I arrived they said they had no record of the request, but would "try" to help. After waiting in the room for approx 30 minutes, I called the desk and was now told, that my child was too old for a crib and they could not supply one. The front desk stated that it was "dangerous to have a child that old in a crib as she could climb out." I asked how that was different than her climbing out or falling out of bed and she had no response. She again stated, that she would "try" to help. After a while later, someone finally brought a crib to our room. He state that they had trouble finding the crib. So I have to assume the front desk lied to me about my child's age and was just trying to cover for being unable to locate a crib. Anyways, no one seemed to actually care about us, our well-being, or comfort. We had a simple request which was made ahead of time and they made us feel like we were being difficult. I will not stay here again.
New construction and although very close to the airport, you’d never know it.Nice staff and beautiful rooms make this a great property!! It’s not close to the French Quarter but many people don’t want to be downtown.
I stayed at the Holiday Inn NOLA last Sunday after An airline canceled my return flight. Along with six family members, I had been at the airport for six hours before they finally announced the cancellation. I promptly went onto the Hotel website, called the number attached and made a reservation for three rooms. We took the complimentary shuttle, and the driver was excellent. We were greeted warmly by the front desk Team and treated very well throughout our stay, especially by: Treasure, Michael, Keontay, Randy, and Devona. They were so helpful and welcoming. However, the real hero of this story is Front Officer Manager, Nicole. If every company had an employee like Nicole, there would be no need for escalation teams. We had a situation that came to our attention last night: We were charged by the company who made our reservation and by the local hotel. I called late last night and explained the situation to Nicole. She listened attentively, took my contact information, and promised an investigation and resolution. In less than 24 hours, Nicole called me and confirmed that after talking to the booking company three times, she had resolved the issue. She went further to send me copies of all the refunds to our three individual credit cards. The hotel was convenient to the airport, clean and comfortable and very well appointed with above average amenities including an onsite restaurant and bar. I would highly recommend this hotel
We stayed at this hotel the night before we left for our trip to Alaska. We paid to leave our car there. Upon return from vacation the shuttle service brought us back to hotel 11:30 PM on Saturday May 18th. Our car battery was dead (ugh!!!!!!). We tried to jump start the car with no luck. Randy Moncrief (shuttle driver) between runs to airport took me to WalMart to get a battery and wrench. Of course upon trying to install battery it was determined that I would need additional tools. By then Wal-Mart was closed and it was clear we were spending the night in Nola. Thankfully there is a Napa Auto Parts store across the street. Randy offered probably the best service I ve ever received from a Hotel service/shuttle provider. Randy went out of his way to help in every way possible. Also it is important to mention that the Hotel Front Desk lady and Security Guard working that night went out of their way to help as well. I did not catch either of their names. I travel out of Nola often and always stay at a hotel by the airport. I can tell you that most of the time I look for price never thinking about service. This hotel is clean and the staff will bend over backwards to assist you if you have a crisis. The shuttle service is on time and efficient. I wont stay anywhere else in the future. Please consider this hotel the next time you need a hotel at the Nola Airport.
Overall I liked this hotel, the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom showed signs of wear and tear, there were a lot of scuff marks and dings. Checking in and out was really easy, the free shuttle to the airport was on time and quick. I would stay at this location in the future.
