The Ocean Club is one of the most beautiful resort in the world. The Beach is just amazing and the new renovated rooms are just perfect. My rating is only 4 because the level of service and the quality of food is not consistent. I have stayed there 6 times and unfortunately the quality of service has been very mixed and far from what you expect in one of the most expensive hotel in the world. The food (supervised by Jean-Georges) looks great on the paper but my experience on that front has been very mixed as well. I am just back from a 3 days trip where the food was really not good (from poor pancakes to over-cooked fish) with a very disappointing quality of service an a non working wifi.

The Dunes has been a long time go to when we stay at Atlantis...Randle Graham is an up & coming very talented, caring & attentive waiter that made our most recent visit even better than ever before!!!

Very relaxing quiet hotel beach was amazing to use the floating mats and the gym has an outdoor facility and inside as well Bahamas is always a get away what can I say Caribbean no complains when it comes to one and only service and amenities

Whilst we didn't stay at this gorgeous resort ( I wish ) we did visit for my friends 50th birthday. Absolutely fabulous is all I can say. The staff in kitchen & restaurant, the grounds,the bar staff & lounge staff...in fact all the staff that we met & spoke to vpwere absolutely fab...we loved the day! Thank you!

My husband and I found this place through our travel agent and wow, what a wonderful surprise we had! We were a little anxious leading up to our trip because this place is pricey and we worried that we weren't going to get what our money was paying for. We were not on the property long before we figured out that although it may be pricey, you are definitely getting top level service and top quality food and accommodations. We WILL be going back as we enjoyed our time together to relax and recharge.

amazing, best trip ever, This has to be the only way to go when you visit the Bahamas. I will start planning now to come back again. The staff at the one and only club is like no other. My family was so impressed, they all told me this was the best vacation they ever had.

We were blown away by the attentiveness and warmth of the staff. The food and drinks were amazing also. A wonderful, relaxing vacation. The grounds and room were impeccable. Beautiful infinity pool. Can't wait to return!

Our nightmare started on at check-in. When making the reservation through their central reservation group - I indicated that I would not stay at the hotel unless they had a certain room available ( or near that room) - having stayed at this property some 8 years ago. The reservation rep called the hotel and they confirmed the room that I had requested was available and the rep noted it on my reservation. When we checked into the hotel they escorted us to a room no where near to my requested area. We fought hard. After a bitter exchange they relocated us to my requested area - but the room, although the occupant had checked-out - was not ready for four hours! Spoiled our entire first afternoon. Come on how long does it take to clean a room? So keep this in mind: This property besides a few separate stand along villas has two wings: the Hartford Wing and the Crescent wing. The Hartford wing is in closer proximity to the hotel amenities. But here's the problem. If you want an ocean view room - be careful. They added in the last few years a pool and a poolside restaurant on the ocean side. There was a flaw in this design IMO. If you are not in an Ocean view room in the Hartford wing very close to the main house - you will be actually overlooking the bathrooms and garbage area of the Poolside building. A real bummer to see people going in and out of the toilet. There are more big downsides to this property. While there is security driving into the entrance to the property - there is no security for people walking up the stairs leading from the beach. So basically people staying in lower priced properties ( the Atlantis is a short walk down the beach) - simply walk over to the 1&Only and make use of the facilities. We met quite a few people at the pools and restaurants from other properties - who just walked over from the other properties. There is only one restaurant that serves dinner at this property and is open to the public! it is called Dune - and attached to Dune is a Bar area. Dune is just very poorly managed. Every night we were there some customers were having a dragged down yelling match with the manager at the hostess stand. They lose reservations, screw up seating requests. My reservations were always messed up. Then there was the night when the executive chief was off and my wife and I had to return the served food as being inedible. The local head chief came to our table and started yelling at us. I stood up from my seat and left quickly with my wife - being very fearful. That was a new experience for this frequent traveler! Speaking of food - during the day we ate at the same the restaurant for lunch ( that is open until late afternoon). The first lunch I ordered the chicken - and it was very tasty. The next day I ordered the same chicken and it came out completely different. It was horrible. The third day I ordered it again - and it came out completely different than the first two days. When I complained about this I was simply told that it was because there were three different chefs. Come on - cooking the same dish should be consistent. Like training all chefs - "This is how we cook this chicken dish at the 1&Only".". My wife and I also noticed that if you were a native islander you were treated far better than the guests. In the restaurant where we ate lunch we noticed that two locals were served this wonderful meal. We asked what was that dish to our server and was told it is not on the menu. We asked if we could have that and was told "No". There is entertainment in the bar each night ( think of a solo singer or DJ). The problem was that on most nights the speakers were turned so loud that we could not sit in the bar. We asked several times for them to lower the sound - but it was fruitless. Others also complained - but it was so hard to get someone's attention. Which brings us to another problem. The staff really like working with one another. But the issue is that they have a tendency to gather in groups and talk to one another. So often I had to waive my hands in the air to get someone's attention. Sometimes it worked. sometimes it didn't. Then there is the check out. Our flight back to the mainland was not leaving until late that afternoon. But the hotel insisted that their arranged car service pick us up at the hotel at 10:30 am in the morning. When I challenged this time I was told by the concierge that is what they expect and "you will only be at the airport a couple of hours". Well we wound up at the airport for close to four hours. Which felt like an eternity. So in conclusion: A horrible check-in that ran contrary to their verbally contracted arrangements with me; Highly Inconsistent food preparations - mostly bad food, One dinner restaurant open to the public that is poorly managed; Being challenged in a threatening way by a chef; Hard to get the attention of service staff; An incredibly loud (as in hurt your eardrums) bar entertainment; and a ridiculous check-out policy -- well you get the picture! But hey what do you expect for a $1,000 USD per night room?

My fiancée and I had NO IDEA that we would end up booking a surprise trip of a lifetime as we were only looking to do our usual island hop traveling and ended up coming to one of the best Caribbean resorts to date! Upon arrival, we were greeted with fresh cool towels and a welcome drink. We were then given a quick tour of the hotel grounds and then brought to our (perfect room) with ocean view and....(surprise!!!) a butler! Things I loved: 1) Butler service. Who WOULDN'T love? When we walked in, there were souvenir caps on the shelf for us on top of just a stunning room with all the cool amenities. The butler helped with complimentary presses for our packed clothes so we never had to worry about ironing. 2) Peaceful getaway. No worries in the world with a beach and pool pretty much to ourselves - away from the craziness of the Atlantis which I personally don't care for during a couples getaway. 3) Service. Impeccable. Kind, courteous, PHENOMENAL. We couldn't figure out how to work our expresso machine on day one and three butlers came in to help only to bring in a brand new machine for us at 10:30 at night. How accommodating! 4) Spa. Fantastic spa service with wonderful therapists. If I had the opportunity, I probably would've gone more than once but didn't have enough time in the week! 5) Food was AMAZING at the hotel. We loved the afternoon chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. It was such a thoughtful touch. 6) Accommodations. Beautiful room that didn't have that overly loud, stereotypical Caribbean cheesy vibe. Bathrooms had a modern and clean touch and beds were comfortable. I especially loved our huge balcony overlooking the oceanfront. Highly recommend and loved enough to come back!

This was our first visit to a One and Only property and they definitely exceeded our expectations in every way possible! We felt like royalty from the moment we arrived and the entirety of our stay. All of the staff was very friendly, greeted us and always asked if there was anything they could do to make our day better. We truly enjoyed the quiet, tropical, luxury feel throughout the resort. My husband and I were celebrating 20 years together and enjoyed every moment of our time at One and Only Ocean Club. We stayed in the Luxury Oceanfront Room in the Crescent wing. It's more secluded and quiet than the Hartford wing. We enjoyed the open lawn and hammocks right outside our room and the view was the best!

Cabbage Beach is within a mile (2 km) of One&Only Ocean Club, and other popular sites like Stingray City are within a couple of miles (3 km).
