My husband and son stayed in this hotel while visiting Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. The location is perfect, breakfast was great, staff was very nice, and their room was clean and comfortable.

There was nothing to complain about - clean room, comfy bed, quiet night.

I did not have a great experience at this hotel. We went to visit family in Michigan and called the hotel from our Aunt and Uncles home to let them know we would be checking in later for our stay. We had booked a 2 queen bed room and when we called we were told our reservations were for a 1 king and a pull out couch, which I disputed since I had the reservation in my hand showing the Desc. of a 2 queen bed room I had made. When I asked if I would then be getting a discounted rate or some other type of compensation for not getting the room I reserved the woman said no, so I mentioned that they would not be getting a good review and that I would be contacting the Corp. office about this, and the young woman just disagreed with me about my reservation and said that was all they had left and I had no other choice. This upset the rest of my day thinking I had to fit my 81 yr old mother, my teenage niece and I in a room with a pull out couch and I know I cannot sleep on a pullout couch. When I did get to the hotel I was told there was a cancellation and that they now had a 2 queen bed room for me. I thought that was fine but since I had been upset for most of the day and now had a headache from stressing about this it did not matter too much at that point. When we went up to our room we had seen caution tape on the floor just off the elevator leading to the hallway opposite of our room that was being renovated with debris all over the floor. Not one time during my conversation on the phone or in person did the staff member mention that the hotel was being renovated which I think should have been mentioned since I was staying on one of the floors that work was being done on. A manager was not available and we were only told that one would be in they next day but she did not know what time but it would not be in the morning before we checked out. I feel like the hotel staff and management did not care enough about their guests to be upfront and honest with them about renovations going on, and why did they not have the correct reservations on file for us in the first place or did they just give away our room and figure we would just have to deal with it. I would not recommend staying at this hotel in the future and I have stayed at many hotels in other states without any issues, which was why I chose this particular one in the first place.

The place was clean and in good shape. The only problem we had was at checkin: our room was not ready until 3:50, instead of 3:00, so we really had to hustle to make a nearby wedding by 5:00. The receptionist was unable to give us a discount (since we paid through a discount site), but she did create a free snack basket and was apologetic and very friendly. The breakfast staff and quality were excellent. The pool was fine, but the fitness center is the smallest I've ever seen--truly like a closet with barely enough room for two machines. The location is quite convenient to highway 31.

our family went to Michigan Adventure for the weekend and stayed at the Hampton Inn. The hotel was perfect and the staff was very friendly. The free breakfast was great had something for everyone would definitely stay here again.

Very nice stay. The hotel was very clean, staff pleasant, loved the cookies and enjoyed a quient breakfast each morning. Avoid taking a handicapped accessible room - the bathroom floor was constructed with the floor drain one of the higher spots, so water goes everywhere.

Great location once I found Ellis Road. Many good places to eat. The staff was exceptionally wonderful. They couldn't have been any nicer. The rooms were very nice. I had the king room with the hot tub. It was very relaxing. Will come back again and will tell others about Hampton Inn.

we complained about rowdy kids who ran up and down halls, knocked on our door and woke up our sleeping infant. we were completely blown off by manager jeff dewitt when we asked for some kind of compensation...we enjoy travelling to western michigan, but don't think we'll be staying here again! room rate was completely inflated for the disruption that we experienced and insincere response from staff...

This hotel certainly surpassed my expectations of a Hampton Inn. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Location was convenient...short drive to many restaurants, shopping, and downtown. There was a complimentary hot breakfast (and "take care package") which we enjoyed every morning. The only down-sides of our stay was the small fitness center that consisted 1 treadmill, stair-climber, & recumbent bike that fit into a small closet-like space; and the pool closed at 10pm (a little early for me). Otherwise, our stay was very enjoyable. Great for families, friends, or business stays.

Spent the night during bowling tournament. Nice and clean, comfortable and quiet.
