Wonderful property, excellent location and stuff, we will sure happy to book The Olivier House Hotel next new Orleans visit
Loved the antique style of everything.
This was a fantastic trip, the building built around 1812 was one of the most amazing I have ever stayed at. There is a curved stair case with no visible supports, an antique elevator exactly the size of a person holding a suite case, courtyard and access halls to be explored, lots of area cubby holes for privacy, 100 year old furniture, a hiden small cannon. Slate roofs, a neat balcony with tables. Although a 200 year old building the excellent staff made this historic property come alive. My room was a cleaned version that you could have filmed scenes out of for Interview with a Vampire. This is my new favorite hotel and it is in the middle of everything in the French quarter. Highly recommended for historically inclined adults or romantic young couples look for something completely unique. Can’t Waite to go back.
Such a neat old property! I will definitely be back!
This was my 3rd time going to New Orleans. The French quarter is a vibe all in its own and there is nothing like it elsewhere. This hotel was the best one I have stayed in and I don’t think I would stay in another after. It has the old world charm- it’s stunning. The people were amazing! John was such a good guy and even gave great food recommendations. The rooms are comfy and pretty. They offer coffee, water and some snacks all the time which was great for the late night and early evening. Best of all the location! It is so close to everything in the French quarter. This one is a highly recommend for me!
My husband and I enjoyed the historic charm of this property in the French Quarter. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our only issue with this property is that is that it was very noisy at night. Given the location is only 1/2 block from Bourbon street, I guess that is not surprising. In the future we would request a room that is not on the street side, for better sleep. On the other hand, we were able to enjoy two second line parades right from our balcony - fun!
Friendly staff and convenient location. We'll be back soon.
This was hands down the best hotel experience we have ever had. The home was beautiful and Maintained wonderfully. He got lucky and had the opportunity to have a conversation with one of the owners. He was so happy to share the history and take us in a tour of the property. We actually had plans to go back out that night to bourbon street but so very happy with the time we got to spend learning about the property. This opportunity helped make the decision on returning to this property in the future. The rooms are beautiful and each one is very different and unique. The staff is also amazing! Love this place!!
This is a very old hotel that needs repair in many areas. With heavy rain, we had water coming in at the top of the window. We placed a towel on the floor to soak up the water and clipped the curtains together so the bed wouldn't get wet. Management was told, but they had leaks throughout whete they were putting buckets or towels down to catch the water. It also has mildew in the rooms as they never dry out. It is very noisy due to it's proximity to Bourbon St. but also from other guests. People in the room next to us smoked and we could smell tobacco smoke at 2 a.m. The building was interesting in a "Winchester Mystery House" way. The front desk staff were very friendly. We appreciated the plentiful bottled water, coffee, and snacks.
The hotel was beautiful, the rooms very rustic and gorgeous.
Great small hotel, and like New Orleans, somewhat funky. Excellent and very helpful staff. My room was a spacious one with typical NOLA balcony, which I enjoyed. Only the balcony was of course onto the street and it's the French Quarter, a half block off Bourbon, so street noise at night was excessive. No fault of the hotel. Will certainly return to Olivier House, but would ask for a room with balcony onto one of the interior courtyards.
Loved staying here! The location was so convenient and the property was beautiful and very cozy!
Great location for access to dining, Bourbon St. and shopping in the French Quarter. The room we had was unique like the rest of the hotel and had everything we needed. The AC worked like a charm after a hot day. The upstairs loft had 2 lamps but still pretty dark in the room. It helped us to sleep in though.
The staff is fabulous and so very helpful! The place is a piece of history and has done a great job renovating the place. Would definitely stay there again the next time in Nawlins!
It’s like stepping back in time. Old world, amazing

Hi Leonel, Thanks for your perfect rating. We're happy to see you felt the Olivier House Merited it. Thanks for spending your time in New Orleans with us, Jim
Loved the antique style of everything.
Hi Terry,Glad you enjoyed the antique style of the Olivier House. Every now and then we get someone staying here who really should have stayed at a mass tourism box hotel, and they leave a review saying the furniture should be updated because it is "old". We get a bit of a chuckle from that, but it truth it also kind of rubs us the wrong way. Kind of makes you want to reply, "old furniture...well yea,... it is called an antique." So Terry, thanks so much for stroking our fragile little ego! We always said you had class! Fortunately for us, most of our guest are people like you, who are not just tourist, but rather travelers who are looking for something more than just a generic hotel. It is a pleasure for us to get to share this place with people like that. Arn't we all just the haughty ones, Jim

Hi Dan, sounds like you are the kind of person that is looking for something more than just the same ol’ thing. We’re glad to hear you feel you found it at the Olivier House. If one is not willing to seek out the unusual, they will have to settle for just ordinary, and we don’ think just ordinary is much to aspire to for a holiday. Glad you feel the same. Hope to see you again, Jim
Hey Tatyana, thanks for choosing to stay at the Olivier House. Glad ya'll enjoyed it, Jim

Hey Ashley, thanks for your nice and detailed review. We appreciate it. Glad you got some good food recommendations. That is a big part of any New Orleans experience. In fact, one has to be a bit careful not to overdo it with the food here. I myself try to exercise a great deal of moderation on the subject and so make it a point to never eat while asleep. Hey, just doing my part to set a good example for our guest. It was a pleasure to have ya'll, Jim

Hi Lorie, thanks for taking the time to write a review. Glad you got to see a couple of second line parades from your balcony. That is a such a classic, quintessential New Orleans type of thing. The balconies overlooking the street are nice because they allow one to see a slice of New Orleans life, to people watch, and to just see the world go by. However, as you mentioned, sometimes those very same people can make some noise. No big deal if you are awake or if you are not a light sleeper. Of course many nights, if not most, there is no noise at all, but it can happen. So as you commented, if one is a light sleeper, an interior balcony might be a better fit, as they are always quiet. I personally find them to be a little more intimate and romantic as well. Any guest can call ahead and let us know whichever they prefer. Both balcony types are nice, but just different experiences. It was a pleasure to have ya'll with us, Jim
