Americas Best Value Inn Marion

It was fine for one night

This is a perfectly acceptable hotel for a short stay. You will be paying less than $100/night so you should not expect much luxury or freebies. The included breakfast was a mix of hot and cold and perfectly good. There were times when there was no one manning the front desk but they didn't seem to last too long. Definitely, I would recommend this lodging for one night.

Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Marion

Great Hotel, lots to do around Marion.

Air conditioner in room was quiet. Road to Murphysboro for the Smoking cookoff. Road around and hiked in the Shawnee Forest.

Best Western Saluki Inn

It served our purpose.

No frills. By that I mean that no newspaper around and we had to check out in person. The room was just okay--not well lit at all and to see some areas, I needed the flashlight on my phone. Beds were comfy. Bathroom okay. Didn't have a chance to eat the breakfast, but didn't look like a lot of choices. There wasn't any fruit one day. Otherwise, it was just okay.

Hampton Inn Carbondale

Nice hotel and staff were friendly, and very nice.

Only one problem. The faucet head in the bathroom sink kept coming off when turning it off and on. Other than that, our stay was fine. Carbondale was overbooked so we had to go to Marion. The room was given to us at no charge. Yes, this was friendly and hospitable area in Southern illinois. We will be back. Thank you for your kindness. Rooms were clean and comfortable
