We frequently book Mercure or other Accor hotels and find them to be typically consistent quality, safe, clean, etc---Mercure being a bit on the nicer side, so we were surprised and disappointed by this stay. First, some good points: large parking garage and the small detail of having a bucket of cleaner and a squeegee by the entrance was nice. Front desk staff were friendly. The location was good for where we needed to be (would be excellent for those going to nearby Siemens) and close to a train stop---not near the city center if you are looking for a tourist hotel, BTW: The building and rooms themselves are rather dated, which personally does not bother me much if everything is clean and in good repair. Many small repairs were needed: small hole in the bathroom door, broken molding, mismatched paint where it appears drywall repairs had been made, etc There were similar issues in the public areas These things bring the room (a paid "privelege" room, BTW) down to a 3 star rating IMO (3.5 if i had the option). What really knocked it down was how dirty the room was. The dark brown carpeting felt sticky. Caulk in the shower had mold growing in it in a 4 cm section. The fridge had residue from a spilled something in the main section and the back had two large ares of mold (2 cm diameter more or less). and to top it all off, when I went to get in bed the texture on the duvet felt odd---I turned the light back on only to find that the part of the blanket which had been folded underneath had two areas with dried blood on them (both pretty big, one maybe 2by5 cm of area with smudged blood and the other a bit smaller)--which is what i had felt. Gross. We called the frnot desk about the blanket and they had a new one sent up within about 10 minutes. We did, when asked, tell the front desk we were unhappy with the cleanliess of the room and they DID offer free coffee (we needed to get going but the offer was kind) and did not charge for parking, which was nice. Normally if i am going to complain I do so soon enough that they can fix it during my stay, but this was one night, and we did not get the impression the hotel would be cleaner in some other part, so had not bothered. I will also note, due to my husband's status we are suposed to be offered a free "welcome drink" which we were not. The "minibar" in the privelege room cotained one each of: mixed nuts with raisins, a coke, a beer, an apple juice, an orange juice and a larger still water.
The staff was friendly and outgoing, but the room was gross: dried blood on the betting and mould growing in the shower and refriderator. The paint was discolored and chipped and I was afraid to touch the carpet. No way this is a 4 star hotel.
The price was right. The room was small, but it was Oktoberfest time ans we needed a room for 3. Parking was free (there are a few free spaces and we happened to arrive at just the right time, otherwise garage parking has a fee). Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Decor was dated and doors were interesting to navigate as the opened in opposite directions. Elevators were cramped. Short walk to the train lines, so it was quite easy to get to the Oktoberfest celebrations. Not many meal options nearby, but the hotel restaurant was fine.
I found it easy to be reached, because is close to tra in station. The hotel is in the average even if price/quality ratio could be improved and there's no air conditioning in the room (heat only). Room cleanliness is good.
Spent four nights here for a business trip. Hotel is close to U5 and S7 trains, which taking you to downtown in half an hour. Good breakfast to start the day, otherwise, not many choices for dinning and shopping.
I stayed at least 10 times in one year. My comments are: Even though most of the guests of the hotel are white collars working for the companies around, hotel has no express laundry service and at the weekend neither. Rooms are old fashion, not cleaning good and immediately needs renovation. Housekeeping services are not sufficient, sheets are not changed daily althoug they are dirty and dirty glasses or bottles are nıt always taken. Choose alternatives like Leonardo Hotel. Mercure should be totally renovated. Not recommended.
This hotel is best suited for business travels, specially if you go to Siemens. The room was ok, small but for a business visit it's fine. The bed was short and there was no closet. The lobby is large and the breakfast served in the restaurant was very good There are no places for staying in the lobby working, talking or reading.
Handily placed for Siemens this is a reasonable hotel. Rooms are comfortable and quiet although the bathrooms feel a little cheap. Carpets could do with replacing. Overall the staff were very helpful and the bar is nice. Breakfast was OK, dinner menu a little limited but the food was good.
Visited Siemens' "Legoland" and this hotel was nearby. It's quiet, the beds are hard (for me that's a plus) but the rooms look a little outdated. There is free wifi, although my 4G is much faster. The sauna is currently being renovated, which is not advertised on their site. The hotel lies between a business and living area. This means that there's not a lot to do
This hotel was no more than average in quality. It was comfortable enough, but plastic bathrooms, sinks that do not drain properly and waiting staff with an attitude that was not very customer oriented made it somewhere you would stay if you had no other choice.
