Needed to know about city - bank, stores, places for real good German food. They sent us to fantastic places!
Very friendly staff that are quick to help if you have a question. Enjoyed two relaxing evenings at the K+K. Breakfasts were great. Room was clean and comfortable. Harras U6 stop has an elevator that pops up very close to hotel entrance.
Great location. Just a few minutes drive from Marienplatz and just across a subway station.. Available basement parking for a reasonable rate. For some reason, our room wasn't cleaned on the first night. Quite unfortunate because we really like the hotel room and the friendly staff at the reception. Would have easily given a 5-star rating if not for this lapse in service.
We stayed at this hotel during the first few day of Oktoberfest 2014. The staff was very helpful, the room was very clean, and we were a 20 min walk to the fest area. I would recommend this for a Munich stay
Very nice room with a lovely balcony. Less than a block to S station
My mother, college-age daughter and I stayed in the hotel for eight nights . The hotel itself is average but clean and comfortable. The rooms were quiet and sufficiently spacious. My mom slept really well on the foldout couch. As the pillows were flat and flimsy, we simply requested a second set which was delivered in minutes. The room had a kettle and tea/coffee packets and an easy to use safe. The rooms have free wi-fi though the signal strength varied. Desktop and printer are available in the lobby. The staff, especially the woman who works the bar, were exceptionally helpful in contacting and providing directions to a clinic for an unexpected health emergency. She was also lovely to deal with in the bar/lounge where you can get a glass of wine, beer, or any other drink in addition to various types of pub grub. The staff were always pleasant. I would note that we didn't get clean sheets until I took the sheets off and left a tip. When I had to extend our stay for four nights due to a medical emergency that put my daughter in the hospital for a week, I was offered a rate by the desk staff that was much higher that the online rate. So, I simply logged on and secured a much better deal. The hotel was nice enough to let us stay in the same room. While the hotel is not in the city center, it was a 10 minute cab ride from the train station or about a five minute metro ride. It is located in a decent, quiet neighborhood with plenty of grocery, drug, and pastry stores nearby. You can access the metro by walking exactly 50 steps to an elevator that takes you directly down to the train. Or you can access it via several escalators on various corners around the hotel. The hotel is five stops from Marienplatz and the trains come about six minutes apart on a normal day. The airport ride required one train change and took approximately an hour. The hotel desk sells various metro passes so you don't have to navigate the machines in the station though those were easy to use. Except for the airport pass, I bought my own single or multi-day partner passes (up to five adults can travel on one ticket) with Euro coins, bills, or a US chip credit card with no pin (I did not try a regular magnetic stripe card). I recommend the hotel if you are looking for a good night's sleep with no frills in a quiet neighborhood and are willing to use the metro.
This is a great hotel if you are going to Oktoberfest. It is an easy, clean, safe walk to the Oktoberfest grounds. It is also only a few easy stops from all the sites in Munich. The train system is easy to navigate, & the way to go to get around in Munich! The hotel was clean, staff was nice & helpful, & we had a wonderful trip!
Friendly staff, great location(if you don't mind taking public transportation) and comfortable, but small room.
this hotel is a great place for business, short way to bus / S bahn and U bahn 5 minutes to go. very clean and bright rooms.
We were two times in that hotel, 2009 and 2012. Convinient location for our needs. Very good area around the hotel.
The hotel is located at less than 1 block from metro and train station (S). If you don't mind using metro this option is great because of the low price (Compared to hotels in downtown). Fast internet conection, clean rooms, great service from staff. I recommend this hotel.
Location, Location. The hotel is about a mile from the Oktoberfest site (easy walking distance), shares a block with several nice restaurants, and there is a grocery store and post office across the street. The subway station is right out front. The rooms were clean and in good repair, but no frills here. The parking garage was a nice plus, although it is very difficult to navigate and park in a full size vehicle. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Most spoke English and German.
Clean hotel, friendly staff, and a very good value for travelers looking not to spend a lot of money.
A very clean, affordable, and pleasant place to stay.Bear in mind that you will need to take transport to get anywhere interesting.
nice, clean with great price. The reception was very helpful, I needed to find a special store, they found it and printed a map for me within 3 minutes.I will stay at this hotel again next time.
This was my third stay - all on business, and I was looking forward to spending the weekend. I asked for a room facing to the back, which is quieter than the street side. They gave me an upgrade to a double room overlooking the charming breakfast patio on the ground floor. As a businessman, I was impressed with the internet access. Fast and reliable. The staff is great, the rooms are comfortable and quiet. From the Haras U-Bahn stop, you are minutes from everything worthwhile in Munich.
With the construction it was a little difficult to find out how to get into the area. The parking was reasonably priced given the cost of parking anywhere in Munich. The spots are very small, though. I had to park extremely close to the driver's side so that my wife could get out and I ended up having to exit my vehicle from her side. The staff was very helpful. We went to Munich to check out their Fruhlingsfest and the staff supplied us with a map and directions on how to get there via the U-Bahn or on foot. The hotel was conveniently located for going to just about anywhere in the city. The U-Bahn is right outside the hotel so it's extremely easy to get to the hauptbahnhof which in turn will take you anywhere in the city for just a couple of euro. The rooms are pretty standard of what you'll find in most of Europe in that they are quite small. The bathroom was the plus in that it had a full bath.
I am an Expat working in Dusseldorf for 2 years (with wife). My German colleagues said that Munich was one of the cities that we needed to visit. We picked this hotel based on previous reviews. There is plenty of shopping and places visit and eat. Didn't have time to visit everything we wanted to (we only spent 2 nights there). So far we have been to Amsterdam, Cochem, Cologne, Berlin, Bruges, Stuttgart, and Brussels… Munich is my wife's favorite so far. The hotel staff was very friendly, the facility and rooms were clean. The breakfast was very good. The price was exceptional for what you got. It was located near the U & S Bahn, which made it easy to travel to & from the city center and other attractions. We only had one issue, the air-conditioning didn't work (it didn't bother us to much, opening the windows cooled things off during the night). Our experience was positive, and would stay there again (thumbs up).
My room was very satisfactory, modern and clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location was convenient and public transportation was right outside the door. The hotel has an underground garage if you have a car. There was a McDonald's next door and a Market right across the street. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Munich.
My factors for choosing this hotel were: 1) cost per night, 2) in room safe, 3) close to public transportation (be warned that the U- Underground runs every 10 minutes during working hours while the S -Electric Trains on street level run every 20 minutes), 4) free internet (hello skype). The breakfast was a steep 18euros and parking was an extra 16 eros. The garage is not so easy for a mid sized or larger. I was driving a BMW 535 and had a lot of trouble parking (very tight places and turns. The hotel was clean and quiet (I was not on the main street side). Staff were friendly and all spoke English as did almost everyone I tried to speak to in Munich. Free coffee all day long. Short subway ride to old, downtown Munich where I found the better restaurants. Room for 1 person was very compact but worked perfectly. I thought I was in Japan sometimes. A very nice hotel off the beaten tourist tracks.
