Personnel is very friendly and they accommodated my early check in. Unfortunately the room I got has a 1 inch gap below the door that communicates to the next room (suite like). So I could very clearly hear all noises the neighbors made. -All noises, all. If you know what I mean.- On top of that I got some noisy neighbors and the hotel wouldn't take any perceivable measures to quiet things down. The once white towels are now grey, frayed and stinky. So bring your own. The floor was dirty and there were still hairs all over the place. I asked to be moved to another room due to the constant noise. They did, but the room had a strong moldy odor. The cutlery of the breakfast setup was not properly clean. Some were even sticky.
This is a newer decent HIE but I didn't feel comfortable there. When arriving I had to wait 3 hours for my room, nor did I feel safe due to the obvious cartel members roaming around it. I'll never go back and don't recommend anyone to stay here. The accommodation itself was okay but why stay somewhere if your safety could be compromised.
I stayed in this hotel because it's a Holiday Inn and is in a good location in Monterrey. I've been in other Holiday Inns in US and I know the quality of them (I'm a member) I booked one full week in this hotel and after visiting other cities in Mexico, I was coming back to Monterrey for some more days in the same hotel. At least that was my plan. But because the old of the room, (the old decor and stains) and the smell, I decided to book in another hotel. The lobby has a great appearance & the restaurant but when I was walking to my room, the carpet on the aisle had a dirty looking and old, and uneven floor as well. Once in the room, the same thing, doesn't have screen TV but the old ones and from time to time a odor like sewer system; some times really strong that I needed to open the balcony window. I was seriously thinking to leave and book in another hotel. The hotel needs an upgrade so bad to be a Holiday Inn.
I liked this hotel. The staff was friendly. The hotel was very clean. In the summer, you can use their lovely pool. It was too cold to use in Dec because even though it was inside, it is not heated. I did not like the breakfast. It tasted terrible but the rest outweighed the breakfast experience.
I stayed here during a business trip. The hotel is conveniently located and it includes breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the room that I got was very nice and quiet (even though the hotel is on a busy avenue). The breakfast was very good. There are plenty of restaurants around the hotel and several shopping centers. I will most likely stay here again.
The hotel is located on a main avenue, so you can reach many places quickly. I stayed here for the Monterrey Marathon, the price includes a breakfast/lunch on the marathon day and transportation to the start line. The room is comfortable and large, but for me is a little dark, specially at night; I didn't like very much the small bathroom. The breakfast (besides the one of the marathon day) is included and is ok. The hotel has a cold little swimming pool, that was perfect for relaxing the muscles after marathon; the weather is cold, so (I think) it doesn't has any other purpose (perhaps on summer is great getting in).
I been staying in this hotel every other week for six months and I dont want to move. Given the location of Holiday Inn Tec de Monterrey you can reach most of Monterrey business districts really fast or come back at night with ease. You should book your stay in advance because it gets full really quickly, thats the only reason sometime I don t stay here. Even fully booked it is a quiet hotel. Many guest are sport competitors for the UANL and TEC sport events, but most of the time they are quiet and not partying. The internet speed and coverage are good and reliable, I have participated in many Video sessions from my room without problem and the VPN worked fine. The included breakfast have fruits, juices, bread, coffee, eggs and chilaquiles everyday, it is included in the room rate and it is supper fast if you are in a hurry and dont want to stay all mourning with the stomach empty. Near to shopping centers for dinning, emergency shopping or dinner Clean and some rooms recently retrofitted. Nice mattresses and pillows.
The rooms are big and comfortable, cleanliness is standard, big bathroom, very comfortable huge king bed. The staff is friendly with a small issue being the fact that some of them have little to no English knowledge, so as a traveler you might want to improve your Spanish if you want to communicate. Breakfast is pretty good but repetitive. The pool is a very nice touch if the weather is hot (but water is really cold). Gym area was a little disappointing as I was very excited to here that the facility was available but discovered it was just a small room with a treadmill, a bicycle and a set of weights. Overall, I found the hotel as a good place to stay for a business trip. They also have social beer hour which is a nice treat (they serve free beer and snacks). The hotel does not have a restaurant but El Papalote Tex-Mex restaurant right next to the hotel is pretty awesome.
The rooms are nice. The hotel seems secure. The problem is the plumbing. The water took forever to get hot and then only a thin trickle of water for a shower. Maintenance tried to fix it but could not.
I stayed there Last night and quality of service is really pathetic. Low lights in rooms, fused bulbs, no charging points. Pathetic internet speed and staff do not want to co operate, i called several times the front desk for resolving wi fi issue only reply i had we would call you back in 10 mins but till i checked out 10 minutes were no over. Breakfast is fine but not many options. Will try to take other options in future
