Crowne Plaza Monterrey

The rooms are older style but nicely appointed. The beds are comfortable. The hotel is close to the Grand Plaza which is good but it is let down by having few staff who can speak more than rudimentary English. Whilst Monterrey is not the tourist capital of Mexico there are some things really worth seeing so an out of date, grainy photocopy map and little else to go on is not helpful. Thank goodness for Lonely Planet! Our business meeting was almost drowned out by an over loud band which played all afternoon and then kept us awake at night.

Good clean place with friendly staff. Good buffet and reasonable food / drink prices. Free Wi-Fi and comfortable business centre. Pool is good but too bad not outdoors. There is a good fitness centre with variety.

Was there for 2 nights only. Good place t stay. This hotel fulfilled global standard. Staff’s English level is more for tourists than for business. Breakfast was rich and nicely presented. Overall the rooms are very large and a bit outdated and in detail not really clean. Overall therefore a OK

The hotel is so expensive, 3k pesos including taxes, per night. The pool was not working. They charge us 15% tip in a buffet breakfast???, they only give me the juice and coffe. The rooms requires a lot of refurbish, it looks old compared with others hotels. Also cleaning is not very good. Ice machine was broken. So is this really valuable????

I enjoyed my stay, save for a few problems. I appreciated the 24 hour restaurant as I arrived late. The rooms are large and comfortable, but are in desperate need of remodeling. The furniture and paint must be 30-40 years old. The heater did not work in my room, luckily I brought warm pjs. The 24 business center is nice, too.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Bathroom is nice with good shower heads. Water not too hot, which is a drawback if you are looking for a restorative bath after a hot day in the city. Beds ok. Linen terrible! Restaurant is too expensive if you order from the menu but ok if you go for the buffet

Old hotel huge installations, but comfortable, nice people for service, good meals, but the day I was resting in the hotel the facilities receives an event for local political party (PRI) violence were presented in a few minutes several cops and army forces closed the streets around, people get nervous, me in particular but I never felt insecure but not comfortable with this issues, asking with local people a few years ago they told me people were kidnaped from this hotel, when I was checked in internet and old news, seem to be the kidnapping history was true. So hotel is good but in any given bad luck day, could be risky, seem to be now this days violence is decreasing but you never know...So in my point of view violence is an external issue, hotel is good, old but great, people are quite awesome, check in and check out experience greta, meals very good, rooms good but needs to be modernized.

The hotel is pleasant, with a good checkin experience. The rooms are clean, and the location is good. Overall though, the hotel needs investment. The rooms are tired with chipped paint. Room service entered my room chatting on her phone (without knocking) and was oblivious to me being there until I woke sufficiently to speak (she was apologetic).

Wow, air conditioning sounds like you on a 747 air plane. Loud very hard to sleep. The whole facility needs to refurbish, old. The cost you pay doesn't even come close to the lack of service. Dining expereince needs to be updated for the price you pay. Doesn't come close to the many of the facilities in other countries.

The hotel is very centrally located and appears to be upscale but it has several shortcomings. Check in was not friendly at all. The hotel is an "atrium" type hotel and they had music in the restaurant every night that could be heard throughout and in the room. The rooms have very nice laminate floors and the bed linens are updated but are otherwise very dated. The mattress was very slim and hard. The AC was old but worked very well. The bathroom was small and old and the water pressure in the shower and sink was low. Service in the restaurant was very cordial but slow. Wifi worked very well.
