Pine Inn

Good two night stay with very helpful staff, and excellent breakfast. Bathroom was in need of repair flooring, tub bottom, and sink area. Also the view of the restaurant roof was not attractive, and the shutters in the room were cracked and old and damaged , in need of repair. Suggest Room 19 needs an upgrade.

Location great what pine inn offers is outstanding . The breakfast was great and people were helpful. Loved having a restaurant on site

We had an incredible view of the ocean from our room. Plus enjoyed the breakfast buffet included with the room. But missed a coffee maker in the room. I liked the location of the hotel. The lobby was nice to sit and enjoy the fireplace and look through the book of restaurants.

The Pine Inn is a good hotel in a great location. The staff was friendly and everything in the hotel just worked. Parking is very tough on a busy weekend, but big thanks to Ileana at the front desk as she offered her parking space in a no limit parking area nearby as she was getting off of her shift.

Convenient for walking to beach, shopping, restaurants. No breakfast on Sat and Sun, not even a cup of coffee. A voucher or discount for brunch at on site restaurant would have been nice. Cannot find free TV channels. Free wifi never connected. In double room, bed so close to furniture and wall that one person must climb over the other to get out of bed.

Not sure if we just got a bad room but no a/c and tiny accommodations take something from this place. The location is hard to beat, the lobby and restaurant are nice but dragging your suitcases up two flights and having a slope to the hallway and the room make me question the price we paid. Parking is free but it's first come first served and there aren't enough spots for all guests.

Great location for those who use a stair master. They don't have a Elevator! The Hotel is old and doesn't meet ADA standards. Hotel furniture was wore out in my room #1. The Staff is excellent and one of the best I've encountered in 50 years of world travel. The owners need to maintain this bordello looking hotel and DISCLOSE THAT FACT OF NO ELEVATOR!

Wonderful location only blocks from beach. In the middle of everything. Super cozy feel. Nothing modern about the Pine Inn, but it works. Room was a bit small, but had great views. Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Actually the best staff we've encountered on our two week trip up and down the coast. They recommended we try Casanova restaurant. Although the name is thoroughly cheesy for my taste, the atmosphere, food and staff was not. Highly recommend dining there.

Since I booked with a "third party" they would not accommodate my request to upgrade as the facility is rundown and the mattress was dated.

In Carmel for wedding in Carmel Valley. Fashionable hotel in upscale part of town. Second floor room. No elevators. Sleep poorly because the restaurant trash receptivles and delivery receiving area was only eight feet below our window. Weather was hot and without AC we had to leave the windows open. We almost learned Spanish in those two nights.

Food is provided by the hotel via a voucher to the adjacent Il Forrnio restaurant but be sure to count your change.

Beautiful hotel. Great location. Parking a bit of a challenge. Room was nice but on the third floor and the second flight of stairs had narrow steps. No air conditioning but I presume this is not typically needed in Carmel.

The hotel staff is awesome. The restaurant is very nice. There is no elevators.

I'm glad I can say that I've stayed there, but I won't be returning. The property is beautiful and in a great location. My room was tiny and did not have AC, which even in November was less than ideal. The soap and shampoo supplied by the hotel was sub-par especially for a high end establishment.

Classy place to stay that gives you the true history and flavor of Carmel. No complaints!

This hotel is located right on Ocean Avenue, so right by all the shopping and restaurants! We really enjoyed our stat there due to the location and the fabulous breakfast at IlFornaio (included on weekdays, you get a $5 off coupon on weekends). The room was on the small side but functional. There was however, the smell of what I assume is very old carpet that bothered us. Thankfully the weather was mild so that we could leave the window open 24/7.

We originally had room 21, which is terrible. Almost no room to walk around the bed, etc. Upgraded to king bed room, and all the rest are quite satisfactory. Has hot full buffet breakfast, very good, not a crummy continental. Right on the main street, in the middle of the strip. Best location in Carmel. Staff very nice.WiFi a bit slow, it that matters to you... Would stay here again.

Great location, generous breakfast and quaint, but small room. A little noisy near the street and a vulnerable feeling with a wide-open bathroom window for ventilation. Very friendly, helpful staff. The bed was not especially comfortable. I would stay again, but with some reservations, so to speak.

Needed a last minute room and this was available. 24-hour front desk helped because we arrived very late. Great restaurant Il Fornaio located inside was open late so were able to get dinner. Beautiful lobby entrance and seating area. One disappointment is no elevator so hauled large luggage up 2 flights. Hotel staff offered to help so no worries if you can't to it. Room 27 was pleasant and had a small view of Ocean. Windows are thin so some street noise but not horrible. No a/c which seems common in this town due to ocean breezes. Clean and comfortable overall and ok value.

Very romantic, lived the fireplace in the lobby, the decor and the fact that this place is 125 yrs old.
