We love this cute little 34 room hotel. It is only about a year old so they are still working out a few kinks as per some of the previous reviews but all the reviews about bad water pressure at least an hour room was fixed. It’s the best water pressure we’ve ever had. I’ve been all over the world. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hospitality was top-notch. The small, cute little continental breakfast and service was nice. And we want to give a shout out to several people that made our stay especially great Thank you Orlando for going above and beyond in letting us check in early due to our circumstances. Thank you Leslie for the wonderful breakfast service. Thank you Jess for helping us with any needs we had. Thank you Daverle for the great recommendations around town!! We stayed in room 34. It was on the end next to the road, but we sleep with the sound machine so no big deal but if you’re a soft sleeper, I think the best room would probably be room 29 or 30 on the top floor. We gave this cute little hotel an 8.5 out of 10. We definitely recommend it

This hotel is well located but I have a few issues to point out. 1. The rooms are loud as the windows do not block sound. 2. My bathroom flooded after I showered as the glass frame leaked water. 3. There is no air conditioning. 4. The free breakfast is very nominal though they make a little effort it lacks protein options. 5. Room lighting is odd. 6. There is street noise. Basically, this is a glorified roadside motel with nicer furnishings. The high price and product delivered do not jive or balance.

What an ADORABLE place! The breakfast was incredible. The staff was beyond friendly and lovely. Everything was of the utmost quality, the furnishings, fixtures, linens, soaps. CUTE Smeg fridge in the coffee nook area. It was all done SO WELL. would definitely stay again.

This is an overly convenient part of town and the rooms are super cute. Really charming. Make sure you ask for the hotel on Ocean because there are two and the other one doesn’t have parking.

This cute hotel was remodeled with a French theme that was very well executed at this small but clean hotel that is conveniently located at the top of Ocean Ave. The design details and use of the small space in the rooms is impressive, but not perfect. It lacked room to unpack our bags properly (a few hangers are provided) and was surprised that the few pieces of furniture lacked drawers but it was ok since we were only there a few nights. Super clean, cute, convenient and comfortable for a weekend in Carmel with convenient off street parking. No pool or other amenities other than a nice patio and a small but yummy continental breakfast bar. Unfortunately, the staff seemed to care less about the guests and, more often than not, about being there at all. They fulfilled the minimum requirements of their jobs in a robotic manner that seemed so odd I wondered (as a person who manages 3 hospitality properties myself) if they were actually told to be “unfriendly like the French” as part of the hotel theme. (BTW, the French are very friendly). The silver lining was the sweet & helpful housekeeping team who stood out as helpful and caring. I’d stay here again for the convenience, comfort & cleanliness, but wouldn’t expect great service or smiling faces from the front desk staff.

Convenient location and great staff. Pros of location are that there is a lot of very loud traffic noise so take your ear plugs if that is likely to bother you. As a recently renovated establishment it seems very old fashioned to not have SMART TVs in every room. On enquiry I was told one could borrow an AppleTV box which is helpful but it’s been a long time since I stayed somewhere that only had Xfinity on the TV as a default.

We loved everything about this property! The staff was super friendly and accommodating, and parking our car was easy. The room was spacious and comfortable, with an electric fireplace - functional for heat and wonderful for ambiance. The luxurious extras were amazing - from the robes to the slippers and even a Nespresso coffee maker in the room. If we were staying longer, we would have taken advantage of the complimentary bicycles they offer to guests. The glass of wine and fresh baked cookies upon arrival were a welcome surprise, and complimentary breakfast was way more than we expected in both presentation and variety - all of it delicious. All in all, this was our favorite overnight stop on our trip down the PCH, and would highly recommend this property to anyone staying in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Perfect spot in Carmel
This motel is perfect! Great location at the top of Ocean Avenue. Rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully designed with touches like an in-room nespresso machine and pretty china; embroidered linens, high quality amenities. The breakfast is “free”, though when I asked I learned that it’s covered by the “resort fee” and high quality. They even deliver warm cookies in the afternoon. AND the price is remarkably reasonable! I highly recommend it, and we will be back.

It was the perfect getaway. Check in and a breeze and we were greeted with complimentary rosé upon arrival. The decor, the friendliness of the staff, and the amenities big and small made this stay so stress free and enjoyable. They truly have put a lot of thought into all the things they offer and are really set on providing a unique, top tier guest experience. No small detail was overlooked. We will be coming back!
