Best Western Carmel's Town House Lodge

2.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

So you can hear the other guests talking through the walls and walking on the floor. Not the cleanest place either. Very dark rooms with old decor and paint. Wouldn't stay here again. The breakfast wasn't very good either.

I stayed in this town house a few years ago and found the location to be pleasant but the rooms to be awkward and gloomy. I believe they have put in new furniture and carpets since that time and I found it to be much improved. Their breakfast offers a very nice array of choices and in a pleasant room. I would choose this hotel again as being a good value in Carmel.

I rate this facility as satisfactory. It was comfortable, but small.

comfortable, good bed and clean...room a little small

It was ok the space was alot smaller than the pictures and our view was horrible, one bed was great the other horrible big dip in the middle the best thing was the location and the furniture was nice.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here very much! The hotel is very centrally located to everything and is an easy walk to Ocean Avenue and the beach. Once you pull in and park, you don't need to move your car. They have a walking map at the front desk to help you locate some good restaurants and shops. Many are right around the corner from the hotel. I like that they do not allow dogs on this property because while I like dogs, I don't believe they belong in hotel rooms and this provides added piece of mind that the room is clean. The area is very quiet. You do get a bit of street noise from cars passing by outside, but I didn't find it distracting. A previous reviewer mentioned that the heater makes a low humming noise that is constant and continues even when the heater is off. We did have that noise in our room. I wasn't bothered by it, but my wife found it enough to keep her from falling asleep easily. We both travel with ear plugs and with those, she was fine. I found the noise easy to tune out. The room in general was small, but nicely decorated, clean, and comfortable. We felt very much at home there. The TV channel offerings were nice; particularly with HBO available. I would suggest that they program the TVs to remove the channels that aren't available. You can keep hitting the channel button on the remote from 1 up to 999 and you might go through 30 in a row that are just a black screen that says not available. I would take those out. The staff was nice and breakfast was basic & good. The dining area is right next to the reception desk and there are only a few tables so they can fill up fast. We only took a look at the pool, which was small, but with the ocean and beach nearby, the hotel doesn't need to have a big luxurious pool. It would be fun for kids, I'm sure. I love that the parking was free and there were no issues with parking spaces. The free in-room wifi was great and worked just as good as our own at home. All in all, I'm glad we found this property and we look forward to coming back again soon!

We stayed here for 2 nights to visit the AT&T ProAm golf tournament. The location was nice...close to shops and restaurants, and a quick walk to the main strip.. Easy enough to get to Pebble Beach (entering around the 10th green). The room was a bit chilly, and there was some noises from people entering and exiting their rooms throughout the evening, but all in all, not bad. Nothing especially great, but no major complaints.

So not a resort, but if you're looking for a deal at a great location this is the place. Room was comfortable, clean, and in perfect walking distance from Ocean.

Room was nice, but no airconditioning :(. Was an unusually warm night, but they did have a fan in the closet.

A great location great value at $90 a night. Look forward to the next stay.

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good but packed, very tiny space and no place to seat.

Good service, friendly demeanor and atmosfere, good and secure parking, stuff very helpful, heater kind of noisy, an extra blanket would've helped!!!

We stayed only one night while travelling up the coast. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and location comfortable for all walks to shopping.

First view of room showed a very compact room. There was just enough room to walk around the bed. Upon a closer view, we noticed the room was totally remodelled and painted. Very nice decor and paint. Bathroom was also very compact; but shower stall was very roomy. There was no fireplace in our unit. Even if they could put one in, not sure where it would be located in such a small room. All in all, the unit was very clean, neat and appealing, just not very roomy. Also, the lobby has a computer for public use. Went to use it at 8:30pm and the lobby was locked, with lights turned off. Sign on door stated it would be open thru 10pm. Finally used the computer the next morning and the ergonic arrangement of the computer keyboard and mouse was so compact, it was difficult to use. Continental breakfast was good; but did not have all the other menu options some of the other hotels offered, such as waffle or hard boiled egg, etc. This is a good hotel for business and for small families; but not too romantic for a couple.

The gentleman at the desk was very nice and polite, allowed me to go into a room before check in time to use the bathroom. Stay was quiet, and restful. Prices a little too high though, but expect to pay $$$ to stay in Carmel as it's about 25 miles/1 hr from the Big Sur. If I were the owner, I'd change one thing...make the walk in closet smaller, and the bathroom bigger, otherwise its perfect, very romantic town and will definitely come back again. Oh and Private Parking which was fantastic.

good

just great value for money. A hot spa pool would have been nice as the weather was too cold for adip in the pool.

had a great time

The Best Western Carmel is in a beautiful, central location, close to other hotels. The staff was friendly and efficient. It was a good value in a vacation destination town. My only complaint was it grew cold the evening I was there and I had trouble adjusting the heat in my room.

Small dark room, uncomfortable bed, dirty looking. Unhelpful front desk. Good location and cheap, but you get what you pay for.
