A straightforward review with pros/cons: Expansive property, with plenty of amenities. The staff is friendly & helpful. I suggest tipping, as it seems as though they don't get tipped often. The beds are comfortable, and I like the fireplaces in the room. The tubs are big and the toiletries are ample & nice (quality). Room lighting is LED & not very "warm".Also, they are on a timer. I don't appreciate the bathroom light going out in the middle of my shower. I finished my shower in the dark, which was weird. I simply mumbled "I'm helping the energy crisis", while I tried to wash the shaving cream I had mistaken for shampoo out of my hair Check-in : pretty easy/convenient. The property is very large and is best suited for golf/activity mavens, more than a romantic getaway. Many kids. It is very overpriced in my opinion, as there is no minibar (yet there's a mini fridge?), & room service for 2 with no alcohol was comparable to a dinner for 3 w/ wine. sub-par food (caesar was romaine with dressing. Not even a crouton), no bread, & cheap diner salt/pepper packets & plastic cups. Not 4 star dining, room svc or not. Rooms aren't very sound-proofed. You will hear every step of your neighbor, and voices from below, above and outside. Fitness room is far. Would be nicer right next to the rooms for convenience sake. YOu must take a shuttle or drive, or plan to walk .7 miles. Not a terrible experience, but just way overpriced for what it is, and hidden charges everywhere.

user friendly well maintained staff is well trained intend a be a repeat guest and have recommended the hotel to my friends

Great hotel, beautiful grounds. Rooms are huge and well-decorated. Would recommend this hotel to anyone celebrating a special occasion.

Beautiful location and ground - stunning golf course and lots to do!

We stayed here a couple years ago for my wife's babymoon. The property is HUGE. Upon entering the gates, they ask for your name to match up with the reservation. They actually give you map and show you where you need to go. Checking in was a breeze, and they even have staff in golf carts to escort you where your room is located. If I have one regret, its that I didn't bring our labrador to enjoy this place with us. There are hiking trails all over the place, and truly a great place to get away from the hussle and bussle of the outside world. I would love to stay here again!

The hotel was perfect. In a great location, not far from the town of carmel. The best part were the hiking trails

Loved this place, it was very relaxing. The room was very comfortable. If you are looking to get away to an isolated, quiet place, this is it. There are lots of activities kids can attend. If you want to dine at their restaurant make sure you have a reservation in advance, other option is in room dining.

A quick stay, but very enjoyable. The grounds around the resort is beautiful and very relaxing, back to nature!

Delightful staff, vibrant bar/dining area, and terrific valley views.

Great Golf Course!! Room view was wonderful. However, the room was not equiped with silverware, napkins etc. Did have mini bar and free coffee or tea to include daily newspaper.

Great place to relax and enjoy the Carmel area.

We had a handicapped room which worked very well for us. We enjoyed the 2 rooms(bedroom and sitting room) Although it is a golf resort we enjoyed the quietness, greenery, and the deer outside our front door! The staff were very helpful and gave great information for the different sites we wanted to see. Most attractions were a good drive from the place. One downside for the handicapped room was the extended walk from our car to the room.

The Carmel Valley Ranch was a delight to stay in, the room was wonderful and the amenities were first class

The room was actually more like a townhouse with a living room, bar area, huge bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and a shower, an ironing closet, and a bedroom complete with a wood burning fireplace! There was also a balcony off the bedroom. The view was gorgeous. Staff were really courteous and went to great lengths to accommodate us and make us very happy and comfortable. They arranged in-room massages, and made sure that we knew where we would eat every meal. The deer, quail, wild turkeys, and other exotic birds made this a very special experience. This property is on a gorgeous golf course and is under going huge renovation which did not take away from the beauty or the splendor of the property on bit! After it is renovated, I'm sure the prices will go way up, so enjoy this relative bargain while you can!

The Carmel Valley Ranch was more than a hotel. It was an experience that most everyone should enjoy at least once. Situated a nice fifteen minutes from 17-mile drive, and Fisherman's Wharf; we could not have picked a better place. The room we had was huge; it had a Whirlpool bath and separate shower, a full living area, and a private spa outside. I would stay there again. We are actually returning next month.
