Beautiful location quite and tranquil.
Beautiful property, classy. Close to the beach. Beach is amazing!
It felt like we were guests at a classic Carmel home. The breakfast buffet, terraces and food were all top notch. Amenities added a nice touch, as well. Convenient to the beach and many restaurants. Shuttle service into town for dinner (not used) would be valuable for those who risked climbing the hills after dark and negotiating uneven sidewalks. Loved the ambiance.
Liked location—ocean view—room was small and resort fee high—excellent breakfast
Beautiful Spanish style hotel. Enjoyed a few dinners and cocktails at the hotel restaurant which was nice. Location is two blocks from the beach and two blocks from downtown. Bring your walking shoes cause although everything is close, the area is very hilly.
The property was historic and easy access to downtown Carmel
Arrived on a Wednesday I booked the room in February king size bed. They booked me into the smallest room in hotel room #102 next to the staff entrance in the back of the hotel. Room smelled as hotel was built n the 1900. Wife has allergy’s so couldn’t stay in room. I notified the front desk they immediately moved us to room #100 little bigger. Staff was awesome and did what they could to accommodate.
Considering the COVID pandemic, the hotel did a great job to offer services that otherwise would have been lost. The property is large enough for social distancing and we did not feel uncomfortable at all. The only issue was we were not able to get a king size room that we had requested through Orbitz.
Beautiful, niche resort located in a residential area, and walking distance to the beach, shops & restaurants in Carmel.
Beautiful property, but no AC during hot days. Excellent service and friendly staff.
The property is beautiful. Great breakfast included in your room fee, nightly wine reception, and cookies and milk in the evening. Loved the bar - dark wood and low lighting. The front desk employees were not super knowledgeable, but the shuttle driver that took us to our dinner reservation was. 2 block walk downhill to the beach, which was gorgeous. Get ready for the walk back uphill. There are not many sidewalks in the area, so waking to dinner and shops not really an option, but the hotel has a free shuttle. Would definitely stay again.
The hotel had everything we needed. We didn't really have to leave the property of we didn't want to. Food was excellent, service was the best, drinks were plentiful. We loved it.
Beautiful property, friendly staff, terrific breakfast
Two receptionists could not explain charges. Room was unbearably hot all night despite having windows open. Mini fridge cycled on and off all night making tremendous noise keeping me awake.
