Older hotel with nice upgrades but poor insulation. I recommend getting an upper unit with no one above you. Good location and comfy bed and nice updated bathroom.

Our stay was in early fall so we didn't get to use the pool. Check in was easy. The parking spots are a little tight making it a tad difficult if you have a lot to unpack. Room was a great size and the bed was comfy. The window in the bathroom is frosted but it's facing the parking lot so you can see people walking by which was a little weird. Overall, a great place to stay and at a nice location for walking around the city.

Very nice and spacious hotel room! We had a fireplace in our room, though we didn’t need it. There’s no air conditioner, so we did have to open the bathroom window to cool it off at the end of the day. It’s an older hotel but it was, hands down, the cleanest hotel I’ve ever seen in my life! Very well kept property and the staff were amazing!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The town is so charming and our place was so clean and well priced! I was actually surprised we were able to find an affordable place after seeing how nice the town of Carmel-by-the-Sea is!! Would definitely stay here again!

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Building is older but it is very nicely kept. Breakfast was plentiful and on par with many chain hotel breakfasts. The rooms do not have AC or fans. At night it would have been lovely to have the balcony door open for fresh air but it lacked a screen and bugs were coming in. The second part of the property is up a very steep hill. This makes the walkability a lot more difficult for someone with knee or hip problems. The lower rooms do not have that issue.

We've stayed here a couple of times, and it's a solid choice though nothing exceptional. Hotels in Carmel are expensive because it's a major tourist destination; don't think that paying $250/night or $300 for a view room will get you luxury accommodations. Location is top notch. The views are fantastic as the hotel is on the northeast and highest part of town. There's easy access (3-minute walk) into town. Rooms are comfortable and spacious and have both indoor in outdoor seating. It's amazing to watch the sun set from your balcony if the weather cooperates. If you're in town on Thursday, the farmer's market is 2 minutes away. A few downsides. Breakfast is provided, though it's rather simple -- bagels, pastries, a couple cereal options, juice, coffee and tea. They offered the same scrambled eggs and sausages all three days we were there, a nice upgrade but would be nice to have some variety or a self serve waffle station. I've seen better breakfast buffets in very modest 2-3 star hotels. They have coffee and tea available in the lobby 24 hours/day which is a nice touch but not cold water or water bottles to take with you around town. Years after the pandemic, they don't provide daily housekeeping unless you request it. These are all minor, and we'd stay there again, but they keep the property from being 5*.

Great value for the money; cleanest stay

This inn was the cleanest place I've ever stayed (including 5 star hotels I've stayed at). The staff clean everything - even places you wouldn't expect. My stay was with my family (husband and son). As described, the hotel provided a mini crib for my son. The Continental breakfast was fine and okay for a quick bite. The beds were mostly comfortable, but more on the soft side. The staff was very friendly and helpful - I appreciated how kind everyone was. Parking spots are a tight squeeze, so parking well in between the lines is critical and get ready to tuck in your mirrors. The location is really great - very central to shops, restaurants, and a 15 min walk to Carmel Beach.
