Wow! The staff is amazing here ! The general manager, Reonda, goes above and beyond the call of duty ! I'd follow her wherever she goes. BUT the third floor had a strange smell in the hallway. I thought it is kind of weird .
What a great motel for a long stay. Full kitchen with pots, pans, dishes etc (unlike my place) clean and comfortable rooms. Comfortable bed. Within walking distance of a nice mall, and plenty of food options close by.
The room layout is great and the overall hotel amenities super! Room was clean with a little "Thank you for Popping In" message attached to microwave popcorn lying on the beds when we arrived - nice touch! I traveled with my daughter and two of her friends during the busy ND Class B Boys basketball tournament weekend. I was impressed with the Sleep Inn (attached to mall) referring us to this, their "Sister" property, when they were full. I would possibly consider staying at this facility again over the very busy and hectic Sleep Inn due to room size, cost. With this I need to make management aware of one small tip that might make future travelers more comfortable upon check-in: Stress to your cleaning staff to "note" things that may need maintenance staff attention when they are cleaning! We had a light bulb out in the bathroom at first flip of the switch and the sink faucet wasn't working and the water was less than a trickle. Another thing that cleaning staff should've noticed was the toilet continuously running! We did have to call maintenance because of the faucet - we didn't really feel for the cost of the rooms we should have to wash our hands in the shower for the entire stay - yes it was THIS bad and shame on cleaning staff for not reporting this. When I checked out I mentioned to the front staff that I loved their facility, beds were comfortable and the breakfast was delicious, but pointed out that they probably should have maintenance go back to the room and check out the toilet to avoid the next traveler having to go through the same process of taking the toilet cover off and having to push the plug down after every toilet flush. YES, I would recommend this hotel because I am a true reviewer and probably just had the only room with "issues" but this could've easily been avoided if cleaning staff would be more aware of these things and reporting them when needed. Location was great!
Stayed here for my second time from Nov 10 - Dec 24, 2016 All of the staff were exceptional. This hotel is kept clean, the breakfast selections were a little less this year, but were varied every day and there were still plenty of selections. If visiting Minot this located next to the Dakota Square Mall and close to many restaurants, K-Mart, Walmart and short access to many of the Medical facilities and highways. Location, location, location !!!!
We stay at this hotel when ever we are in Minot. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Whether you are staying several days or just one night you can always expect hospitality that goes above and beyond.
I am a travel nurse and often work the night shift. That is the case in this 8-week stay in Minot...12 and 16 hour nights. That means I have to sleep during the day. Places I've stayed in the past do not take into consideration us night owls and the cleaning staff, as well as other guests, are often loud during the day. Not so here. Sleep goes undisturbed during the daylight hours for me, which is a big plus. I also got a room on the 3rd floor (top) which meant no one above me. This place is set-up like a little studio apartment and meets all of my needs. It has refrigerator, dishwasher, range top and microwave. I am able to schedule housekeeping to come in when it was convenient for me. They have a small workout room. Their laundry area is a good size and very clean. Breakfast does not have a lot to choose from, but it is HOT and filling. Their sister hotel, Sleep Inn, is also right across the road and you can use their pool or eat their breakfast if the one here isn't to your liking. The staff is ALWAYS polite to me and answered my questions or assisted me with a smile. I'll definitely stay here if I find myself in Minot again.
I stayed here in the past when travelling for work - but i won't be staying again. The southern gal who runs the place,Rayana - does not care about the guests or staff. Gave the young desk staff a tip cause I feel bad for her and how the manager talks. The words used from her are unprofessional, she tell that girl she should know how to do it and make her feel bad. I will use my allowances to stay somewhere else. All the staff are pleasant and the rooms are good, but i don't need no confrontation with manager everyday like I did. Does not respect others.
Oh where shall i begin...MainStay has really gone down over the past year...especially since the new management took over.We come to Minot couple times a year and always stay at MainStay...well not anymore! The rooms are not bad and the housekeeping staff is really nice but the front desk staff...dont bother them with anything!!!!!! and the manager...well really rude, like she is doing you a favor by letting you stay there. No people skills what so ever, she needs to be retrained on how to be a manager. I really hope she can get the help she needs and maybe then she can be a manager she is suppose to be.
We loved our stay at MainStay in Minot. We were there for the Norsk Hostfest this past week. We agree with the reviews that praise the staff. The front desk people (Gerald and Amber) were outstanding! So personable, interesting and interested, engaged, pleasant, helpful, efficient and hard workers! I disagree with the poor breakfast reviews. The first morning we had scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits. The second morning there were scrambled eggs and bacon. Both mornings there were also hot oatmeal, cold cereal (sweet and non sweet oh's) pastries, bread, eng. muff and bagels for toasting (jelly, pb, butter, honey), fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, milk. All this for what their website calls "continental breakfast"! Our room was like a tiny house: small kitchen with full size fridge, dw, mw and sink plus a 2 burner cook top. There was a very comfortable love seat, large, flat screened TV, desk, Queen bed in the alcove and a full sized bathroom. There was plenty of drawer and closet space, too. The bed was a tad soft for our taste, but we slept well. We were on the 3rd floor (304) and did not hear a sound from any other guest rooms or the hall.
due to last years wonderful experience with my stay at Mainstay Suites, I hope to be back again this Christmas season. They located me where I could get in and out without drawing a lot of attention (right inside the entrance was room 126) it was an excellent room and location. As I said before they treat you well and feed a very filling and variety breakfast. Also providing excellent info and recommendations on the area. Santa enjoyed his stay in Minot thanks to the Mainstay. The staff are all exceptional hope to see them again in November.
