ONE THING WE LIKE IT ON THIS HOTEL WAS IT WAS CONVENIENT TO THE FAIRGROUND, BUT EVERYTIME WE STAY THERE WAS ISSUE ON THE ROOM, MOSTLY ON THE BATHROOM, EITHER THE TUB WON'T DRAIN OR THE SHOWER HEAD SUCKS, THERE'S MORE COMING OUT ON THE TUB FAUCET THAN THE SHOWER HEAD. HOPE THERE WILL BE ONE TIME IF WE STAY THERE AGAIN THAT BOTH ARE WORKING.

Long time waiting to check in while desk attendant on phone. Our main floor room felt damp. Old, chipped toilet seat/cover seemingly from the 60's. Beetles in the bathroom. Stained and torn curtains. Raised all of this with front desk when checked out and it was like water off a duck's back. "Thanks for letting us know - have a nice day! The hotel was not as advertised - which was that a Clarion hotel is at the mid to upper end of the Choice hotel group and that they are of recent construction or renovation. This was more like: "We're old and tired and we don't care."

The room was kind of musty and the carpet could use a good cleaning. Had cowb webs from the light next to the bed covering the light and table. Other then that it was worth the money staying there and the staff was nice especially at the bar.

Unclean, but nice wedding venue

Stayed for a wedding that was hosted at the venue. When we arrived in the room, there was trash still on the floor and a bar of soap from the previous occupants. There was no conditioner in the bathtub. The three man cleaning crew was next door. When asked for conditioner was told (somewhat rudely) that I had to go to the front desk to fill out a form for the request. The form did not include a request for conditioner. Eventually some was delivered outside the room. Other than the guys that were cleaning the rooms, the rest of the staff was friendly. The wedding venue was very nice.

One week stay…

The stay was pleasant and the staff was very friendly. The bed was comfortable enough in a spacious room. The elevators and key cards worked fine. The WiFi required regular code log ins to use and did not work as well when there was more people in the hotel. Breakfasts were good and coffee was decent. Everything in the room functioned as it should. The mini fridge also had a real freezer compartment so that was very useful. Having said that, the only things that could really be called disappointing are the pool often closing early and the lack of cleanliness. During the whole week the hallway for the floor I stayed on was never vacuumed. The bedding comforters do not appear to get washed either. It can be noisy on the weekends due to the bar/gambling area being in the middle of the hotel. The location is near the state fair grounds, but not close to much for shopping and dining, so if you don’t mind all of that, this is a good place to stay.

We went for a wedding on the property. All guests stayed on site. Many had to change tools due to being given rooms with non working tv’s, broken AC unit, rooms that hadn’t been cleaned yet. One guest changed her room 3 times, the first room the shower was so moldy you wouldn’t even want to get into it, the second hadn’t been cleaned and the AC was broken, the third had food on the floor in the corner but she decided to just stay. The next morning she found a bed bug and took it down to the front desk. They didn’t have anything to say. Everything is outdated and old.

Everything was either broken or closed early. Beds are two full beds and not queens and feel like you’re sleeping in wires. Pool closes early. So many rules for everything.
