I love the lounge area as well as the restaurant the food was wonderful the chef prepared some great dishes.

I stay for 3 nights at this hotel. When I arrived the bed that was assigned to me was dirty and used. I had to wait for two and half hours in order that the bed was ready. They did not offer a towel. The breakfast is poor and the area is not clean. Likewise the room was never cleaned for the 4 days of my stay.

My wife was not happy with the hostel environment (bunk beds and no soap) while I on the other hand loved the experience especially the green lizard by the pool. Also the younger customers were a good change from the older crowd on our cruise. A king bed would have made my wife happy.

Well curated rooms, shared spaces and events. My experience made me feel like I never had to leave the property. Meeting great fellow travelers and exploring Miami on my own, I was happy to call Freehand my home.

I stayed in a hostel room with other females from different parts of the world, made t an interesting experience. Something I recommend the hotel to do is not charge extra for having an all female room since it's less expensive to have a mixed room or all male room, makes it unfair for us. Also the room should have a little extra space and the bathroom is so smal for 4 roommates. The locker room should have a curtain at least to use as a changing room. There need to be working power outlets. A blow dryer, mini fridge and microwave would be helpful in each room since we have so many roommates it's just not convenient To go to the guest kitchen and keep food with other people you don't even know. Very unconvenient. The shaker is very pricey i don't recommend getting anything from there. The pool, guests, staff were great.

The Broken Shaker is an absolutely fantastic on-premises bar with amazing cocktails, and the 27 Restaurant attached makes incredible food. I loved my room, loved the ambiance, REALLY loved the proximity to the beach and the good parking. My husband and I will most definitely be visiting again in the future.

I stayed in one of the private rooms. The room was ok however everything in the room was pretty much the cheapest possible material. This is a hostel so it feels like they might be good at that and are trying to also be a hotel, which they are less good at. Overall it was an ok stay but the staff needs a lot of work. They have a limited number of overnight parking passes which are "first come first serve" I was attending a conference so I would be leaving early and coming back late so I figured I would be early enough to get one every day... except that by first come first serve they meant first come after whatever random time they decide to start selling the tickets. They wouldn't even put one aside for me. The breakfast looked ok but was from 8-10am. This is a hotel targeted at young people and it shows. The late breakfast, parking pass stuff, some towels not being replaced by the staff during the day etc. if you are under 25 and want a cool place to stay near the beach check it out. If you are there for any other reason, stay at a real hotel.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The majority of people staying there are students and young people looking for partying, drinking and going to the beach. If you want to sleep early you might have a problem.

Stayed in the quad room and was great. Met awesome people and everyone's friendly. Loved they I can hang out in their beautiful jungle like patio for drinks and dinner. The bar is always busy with people and it's not as noisy as you'd think.

This place is something else. When reading about this place I considered the small amount of "Cons". Spoiler alert. These are left by folks who turn to comment on their smartphones rather than approach the friendly staff. Even the house keepers were pleasant enough to share some laughs. Outlets not working? Put your f$&#ing phone down and look under the bed. Probably got unplugged. This place is clean, and has a very enthusiastic staff. You have more privacy than any other place I've stayed. It's clean. Like... very well cared for. I will never stay anywhere else. Look at pictures of all the other hostels and their rooms and you will agree. If not I'll give you your money back.

Be aware it's a party hostel. Lots of noise. Spent three nights there and got waken up every night by drunk people coming back in the room. Many things not working in the room. Ex light and no cold water.

Rooms need a "little bit" more attention. Dust, roaches, cleaning out the lockers...

Great place for a backpacker! Facilities are clean and the atmosphere is very chill and mellow. Loved the backyard with bar, restaurant and pool! Overall a very pleasant hostel.

I loved the experience here. It's totally different from a normal hotel... you get to room with others. Here I met some great friends who I hung out with for the rest of my trip. Would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay!! would recommend to others!!!

Just spent several nights at Freehand. This place may promote itself as a Hostel, however its more of a Public Bar & Nightspot for 24 yrs olds off the street. Most of the Staff here were useless when we ask them questions or sought assistance. The so-called breakfast was a joke and the entire facility is over-ran with folks off the street. The Hotel rooms here provide nothing other than a bed, TV & shower... not even wash-cloths. Our King room was extremely noisy from slamming doors and wooden floors. If you Fly, then Uber in to the Hostel you can avoid the $36 per day in parking cost. Not to mention having to go update your parking ticket several times per day (since you can't pay by the day). The Bar & Pool areas were filthy each morning as well due to the crowds that flock in each night.

I really don't know why they list on this site when the majority of the hotels here have private parking spots for their guests. This one doesn't (except maybe valet?). I arrived at this location, checked in, and drove around to find a place to park my vehicle. They're located next to a public lot that is $1/hour between the hours of 8AM to 6PM (basically forcing me to wake up early so my car doesn't get towed). Being Miami, I am also fighting against night clubbers and partiers, as well. I drove around Miami for a few hours and tried again, but still had no luck and more cars trying to find parking in the few lots the front desk recommended. Needless to say, it was 1AM in the morning. I had two nights booked, but if I have to deal with this for several hours during my stay, I didn't think it was worth it. This was the first time in my life I bit my losses and booked with another hostel up north to save my trip. What also convinced me to stay away from this place is the guy at valet who treated me like I was dumb. Was asking for a little knowledge of the area, but keeps telling me to figure it out myself. Who hired this guy? This review is for the parking experience, so if you have no car, you may not have any issues...

its a good place to stay if you are by yourself and looking for something cheap, the place is very clean and has 2 bathrooms in each room.

Perfect place to stay! big spacious room, best rated bars and great staff. Worth staying at this hostel!

it was grate just more choice for brake fast it will be nice
