I was really looking forward to my stay at Carillon Miami, but it didn’t live up to expectations. I booked and paid for an ocean view room (I selected this online) and was given only a partial ocean view. I raised this at check-in, staff were made aware that I wanted to be moved, but no one followed up during my stay.
Wellness offerings were limited — there were plenty of fitness classes but very few meditation, sound bowl, or breath work sessions, which I was looking forward to and expected from a wellness resort. The pool setup was only two pools, and only one served food and drinks. Unfortunately, that same pool was not adults-only, so it was very noisy and hard to relax. The pool was packed with families and young children, so it was not the environment I was anticipating.
The spa was not how i remembered it to be. Despite posted rules, they weren’t enforced. Each day it was loud, with guests talking loudly amongst each other, on their phones.
On the positive side, the rooms were beautiful, clean, and spacious. The restaurant served excellent food, and the staff at the restaurants, pool, and valet were genuinely kind and friendly.
Overall, while there are some great aspects, I don’t know if I’d truly describe this as a wellness resort anymore.
